One is the Loneliest Number: Unpopular GG Opinions

I also agree with you dustylil, nothing was holding him back from leaving town. Especially, considering how his parents were, why not just pick up and set up shop elsewhere. Of course, a very UO, what was with his dog? It was a cute dog, I loved that dog and I wanted a story behind Jason's dog. Yet, he was anti-social and was like a living statue. -
I agree with that, Phil tends to be the guy who wants to have fun or do things that will make others happy. I do feel sorry for him at times, I mean he's very successful, comes through for everyone and is a good dad. However, I see why people roll their eyes at him from the extended family to the kids. However, I really do wish Phil would just at times go: "Why can't I just have fun?" "Why do I have to be serious or not have interest in other things." "Everyone else acts like the world is going to fall apart if I don't grow up and act serious, leave me alone people!"

I understood that Jason had problems sleeping with someone else. When Mrs. Readster and I got married it was an adjustment for her and even before she had problems with previous relationships. However, she made adjustments to handle that so it didn't come off as weird or a problem with others. That's why I never got why Jason hadn't figure something out at that point in his life. However, that bedroom was awesome. I think the biggest problem between Jason and Floyd was the fact that Floyd kind of wanted Jason to take over the family business and Jason didn't want everything handed to him. He wanted to earn it all himself and not use his father as a reason where he got in life. Why Jason hated his nickname Digger, he wanted to forge his own way. Of course as we saw in the magical world of GG that all the rich families got pissed off at you if you didn't take their life style. -
At this point, it feels like Stephanie needs to just move on in everything. Career, life and so forth. She gets slightly ahead and all of a sudden its like someone has to just ruin her life. I agree with Richard that you take advice from someone you barely know instead of knowing the person for so long and working with them. Sure, people have secrets but you hear one thing and its: "They are the worst person." Sad to say it happens in real life too but I feel like the writers keep constantly throw things at the wall and hope something will stick with Steph. She goes from obsessive to poor me to I'm awesome to now, why me. Pick a trait and leave it there.

Oh Gimme' A Break, great memories with that show. I got what Adam was thinking and at that age it happens. I didn't have swimming in MS and in HS it was only if you were on the swim team and it was at the Y. However, do I remember going to the pool when I had turned 13 and some of the guys and gals were a bit taken with their swim suits. Oh yes, you had the ones that didn't feel comfortable with puberty and the rest who didn't care. I had just lost like 14 lbs and grown three inches so I wasn't afraid of not having a shirt on. However, I was so pale back then and a little awkward with under arm hair. I remember putting my arms behind my back an then quickly putting them forward when I was on a beach chair. Its just natural. Really enjoyed Erica and Barry's story, it was really enjoyable and see the old neon football poster in coach's office. Good memories there. I loved Murray's advice: "One day you won't care anymore either." How true, even my wife said what she was embarrassed about in her teens she could care less about now.

Ed has 5 daughters, we know two of them are on not so good speaking terms. I feel like they don't know what to do with Mandy and Kyle at times similar to how they are writing: Kristin/Ryan/Boyd. The last two Ryan/Boyd focused plots it was just them, hello Kristin is the mom and should say something on the matter. They did this big push the last two years for them to be this Big Happy Family and they are never together as a family. Its either just Kristin hanging with her family or with Ed at the restaurant or Ryan thinking of yet another stupid thing to do with Boyd and Mike has to step in. The new show runners are just spinning in circles after three episodes. Vanessa is such an idiot now its embarrassing. Mike is angry over things, he really just can't change. Ryan should be hauled off for child endangerment. Mandy and Kyle have no braincells between them. Eve has not only become meaner not caring what others think outside her father but I could see the side of the house being knocked in and she just sit in the chair going: "That's why insurance companies shouldn't rule us." Ed is about the only thing good about the show now.

He really just is. How he had a career as a lawyer before baffles me.

Instead of admitting it was horrible and letting it stay buried.

I wish I knew why the new show runners need to visit the "Castle Mythology" again since it was such a big failure. Of course, there were those holes in the story that never were explained. I can see it be revealed that Lockstat had something to do with the terrorist attack. I mean why not? He supplied former military men who loved to kill and torture people because they could. Why wouldn't he/she just say: "Screw it all, let America burn!" in the process.

What was worst was the fact that Richard and Emily both told Trix that she was paid back just over a week later. Meaning what ever the money was for, it was over an emergency and they didn't have the money right there at the moment. Richard said it best: "What kind of financial problems must I have had to pay you back in a week's time." Felt more along the lines of: "Mom, we were in a car accident, we are fine but can I borrow money to fix the car, we just paid the mortgage and childcare and I don't get paid until next week." Trix acted like Richard was drowning in debt. Made no sense at all. -
Yeah, isn't it amazing. You also get writers who have to write politics that one party is the best and the other is the worst. You should vote for Hilary because: "She's a woman." Oriental people are cheap and micromanaging their families all the time (rolls eyes). Yeah, amazing how writers get paid big bucks to write such amazing modern concepts.

Oh yes, how I loathe that episode with the hate of a thousand torches to burn the mattress. Hey, Rory! You are 18, time to be an adult! -

I agree with that, especially what happened later on with the Dragonfly. However, when Richard revealed the investment he didn't want Emily knowing about it and in a way I think Richard thought Lore would use the money for her own business. He knew she had been talking about it forever and let's face it 75K would have probably solved all of Lorelai's problems with the Dragonfly when she was trying to get it up and running in season 5. Let's face it, if someone would hand me that kind of money right now, I be going everywhere paying off debt and a family member, I had to borrow money from in a heart beat but I would spread it out across those debts and then keep a little for future investment. When there is a windfall of that amount, keeping some is a good thing. Of course, we know how Lorelai was with finances. -

I hated everything during that time. Lorelai was all: "Wahoo! I have money, my Friday nights are free again from my moron parents!" Which I didn't like, so hence I understood why Rory said those things, but Rory should have understood her mother's POV from that. I also hated how Emily couldn't open her big mouth and say: "I'm so sorry that my effort for us to rebuild has been such a bother to you. I just wanted you back in my life." Yet, Emily Gilmore could never admit that. The entire situation with Yale, man, Rory screwed that one up royally but Lorelai could say: "Well, I'm sorry mom, if Rory wouldn't have made the mistake, we wouldn't be here." Emily acted like Lorelai was the worst parent in the world. Those last few episodes with those manufactured drama from AS-P were just horrible. -
I hated the entire nurse plot, what a moron. Plus, the head of the hospital could be any more cliche at this point? I did enjoy Ken's parents though.

Plus, its very outdated, I mean it had its moments and everything. But these days you have high school kids decorating lockers for friend's birthdays, using social media or super art projects to ask dates to home coming and prom. Which back in my days of high school (90s) would have been seen as way too over the top and along the lines of "stalking". Of course now you are expected to make a big deal out of asking someone to something like a dance like that. Locker decorating for boys' sports has been dying out for a while now. However, completely in Cam's character to want to keep it alive instead of: "Well, I'm going to be a good coach and give me boys a little encouragement." Instead it is: "Its a tradition that needs to stay alive, even though most of the cheerleaders hate it."

It reminds me of King of the Hill so much with the Propane companies of Strickland and Thanerten. Which basically did the same thing, except Thanerten took his clients and ran to start his propane company but of course cut corners. Its always POV of people who don't identify with a person's business or passion for a business. I'm tech coordinator but many view me as someone who seems to play games and fix printing problems. But its a lot more than that and I love it, pays nice and always me to grow and learn. How I see the closet business for Jay and the rest of the family except for Claire just don't see it. Gloria and Mitch roll their eyes at it, Cam, Phil and Manny get it but don't focus on it but support it. It's not like Cam's Clown College days that not only has been ran into the ground but everyone sees it more as an obsession of his than a passion. So, the entire rivalry around the Closets business is very entertaining and you can understand it fine. Mitch not knowing those people on the rolodex, that was extremely stupid. No way he wouldn't have known over half the names mentioned. My wife and I were born in the mid to late 70s and only one name that Jay mentioned we scratched out heads at and my wife had to fight for the TV between her sister and brother but they watched a lot of shows that those actors were in.

I seriously wish Nancy Travis would tell the producers either to do something good with her character or she'll leave the show. Wow! Vanessa voting for Hilary because she is a woman and thinking Chuck did Obama because he's black. I really am tired of Disney letting Tim Allen have this political view needed for LMS. The show has really lost what made it good. No one came off as relatable. Eve is like: "Hey, who cares about anything, things have been done." Mike has been purposely losing to Mandy all these years? Seriously? Now, Mike and Ed are co-owners of Outdoor Man? When did this happen? LMS has really fallen so far and I read that the Hilary bashing will continuing. Its like saying: "I'm not voting for so and so because they are in that political party but I don't want the person who might be in my candidate in office." So, once again we have Kristin without Ryan or Boyd. Then we have Ryan and Boyd together and not with Kristin? You trying to tell us something writers?

I'm warming up to it because you pointed out, it is very believable with the shortage of lawyer jobs and Mitch's history of leaving other firms. I do agree, he should start his own practice, in fact I'm sure that's where the other apartment in their duplex will eventually lead.

I found the entire thing not well thought out. AS-P even admitted that the "grand theft" was just to start the rift with Lorelai but they didn't have a real plan at the time. There were way too many holes in the plot as you mentioned. Also, how stupid was the Gilmores' lawyer that he didn't know the judge or even better ways to handle the case? Especially when it was revealed by Richard he was a career lawyer who specialized in these types of things. -

Not to mention many times the DAR was not interrupted with what they really do. As I have said, we have a local chapter where I live and many of them were fans of Gilmore Girls but said they had the DAR so poorly done it was ridiculous and they even mentioned that Rory post drop out and boat stealing. That was a great way to get her back in good graces with future jobs. Of course we all know that Rory's punishment had everyone rolling their eyes after the court hearing. How Logan could so easily pull off worst stuff for years and get a slap on the wrist and yet Rory who had no previous record was thrown at the mercy of the court. -
Nope, Strawberry was around since 82, she showed up here and there throughout the early 80s before disappearing until over a decade ago.

Oh Phil, why I love you. Poor Alex, she tried. She really tried, just the Duphy kids just can't stay at college can they?

Yeah because if something related to the case happened again like here it was with Bracket. All they need is to have someone kill her father or super spy mother-in-law and away we go again. It would be like trying to make a new copy cat killer off of 3XK. They would be unburying yet another retired plot just to get a story when even the previous show runners said they were done with the story. The angle with Locksat works because as I and others have mentioned the connections that Bracket had with the military never rung true. Having someone who has those connections who helped with Bracket's dark secrets when he went to Washington. That made sense but I agree, who ever Locksat is, he never was involved with the death of Becket's mother but she feel she has to hunt him down to make him pay for helping Bracket all these years and killing former members of her team and shooting up the police department. Which really messes up with the break up because Ryan and Espo could be helping since they were there and Espo is former military. Plus, Ryan's former use in narcotics would tie into some of the smuggling in NY. Of course that would be well written character use and we can't have that.

How true, talk about screwing up at the job leading to a full hospital shooting. Of course, look at the Board of Directors, how any of them were ever part of a Board that ran a hospital is beyond me. Half of them were having affairs, they didn't know how to budget a hospital and half the time they were telling the surgical department to either obey them or look for a new job. I had no problem when they were all kicked to the curb because they were horrible. People wonder why GS was always having disasters, one right after another all these years because their Board were worst than the chiefs.
