You know, you raise a very good point. Even after Richard's first health issue, I didn't see Chris come a running in wondering if everyone was alright. Then after Richard's heart attack in the middle of Rory's class. Who really came running? Luke that's who. I remember when Season 3 kicked off and Christopher was trying to make it sound like that Lorelai and Rory could be around in his life constantly even with Sherry pregnant with Georgia. Emily told him off and Christopher game her a look along the lines of: "Fine, whatever." Luke did the running in to be the white knight many times, he had his issues and as many of us say to this day, Anna was a complete WTF of how he backed down and took her shit from the first moment he found out about April. Something I said all these years and both my mother and mother-in-law who watched the show said why didn't Christopher every say to E/R or his own parents. "Well, shit happened, I love them both, but we can't work out and its my own damn fault. Let's move on!"

She was 13 when the series ended, going on 14. April would be in her early 20s by now. They can't backslide that, with the original actress returning in the role.

Spoilers and Spoiler Speculation: Benchmarking
readster replied to stopthestatic's topic in Grey's Anatomy
Yeah, because its not like any of the writers don't have kids or deal with this themselves. Except for maybe a few, but I guess they just go: "We write how we wish it was and not how it is." -

That's been my argument for years. Until they decided to make him look bad so Rory and Jess could get together, it was pretty much over for the character. Other shows have written much more organic reasons to break up characters because of whatever the plot needs, but handled it with more grace. The cheating storyline was bad because the way Dean and Lindsey got married was so thrown together and was meant to be the original exit for Dean. He gets married, though wishing Rory would have chosen him and he goes off. Then of course Jared's other TV jobs never went through so they brought him back this way. His exits were handled even worst. First the: "I have no place in your world do I?" to his speech to Luke that was so hacked eyed and completely devoid of even the Dean who left with his head down from his break up with her again. "They will always want more and you aren't good enough!" Was so bad, and the fact that it had to take into account that Dean apparently had no idea who Lorelai was at all or that it was her parents who thought that way. Another reason why Jared signed back up, he hated his final episode on the series and probably wants to show that maybe Dean learned and moved on his life and is happy now. At least I hope. -
Yes, Associate TO THE Selectman would be the position I am referring too. We have many of those in my area, but people refer to them as: "Assistant or Associate Selectman". Very true about a private prep schools doing that, but this is the GG Universe an AS-P bringing them all back, why follow timelines?

I'm still looking forward to it and so is my mom, we watched the show from beginning to end together. It was our thing and since I can stream, I know she is coming over so we can watch again together and my mother-in-law wants to join into the fun too. We all agree, the last few years were bad even if they tried to find redemption in the end. Now, we are hoping these four episodes will make up for it and give it a better send off. However, we all agree, the return characters from Dean to possibly Tristian need to make sense and not there just because they are free to do it. My mother-in-law said it best that Dean was left so horrible and Thank God for Supernatural helping Jared's acting career. My mother watched Bunheads and loved Sutton but she said she better work for Miss Patty or we will get two Lorelais and that would be a bad thing. My wife's reaction to everything: "I don't want to see Liz or Anna anywhere near the show ever again!"

Which is what really irked me during the final years of AS-Ps run as show runner/creator of the Gilmore Girls. She mentioned it several times going: "Hey, he/she is free, I have to use them because I can." Then it came off so bad and so forced even the actors later said: "I did it for the paycheck, but that wasn't my best work and I regret it now." Especially since we are talking about Jared here and his last appearance was exactly that before Supernatural took off. Plus, Milo has such a string of bad series or ones that flopped after being hits like Heroes or The Whispers. I be fine if he was in all these episodes because at least he has a point, is a fan favorite and was left in a good place when the show ended. Verses Jared who was stopped being a character in season 3 and then got worst and worst because: "Hey, he's free and I can now write him." Especially if it is true that while Supernatural might get another season, it might be the last since the ratings are way down and the show runners want to give a good send off. Jared is probably thinking of getting himself out there again, especially with something that got his career started in the first place. If anyone that would be so forced and out of the blue and make almost no sense would be the return of Jason, Olivia or Lindsey.

Star Wars Rebels - General Discussion
readster replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Star Wars Rebels
Right and as said above, they are just towing it behind the line a bit. He could have gone up in smoke when the B-Wing annihilated the partnered Star Destroyer next to him. The throw away line about Zeb telling them to let Kallus have it. Was along the lines of: "If you kill him, awesome, I won't hold it against you." The way they keep doing this and the way they keep saying that one of the main characters is suppose to die by the end of the season. I see it being Zeb taking out Kallus. Especially with the set up of the other Admiral that escaped a few episodes back. -
Truth be told, that would make a lot of sense if you look at the time line. It would be ten years (or over) by the time the episodes air. They even could give a passing line with: "Would have done it last year, but you know the school budget these days." Especially with a place like Chilton, I'm sure they got hit with financial and enrollment problems like any other private school. In a way, it would be like Veronica Mars with the high school reunion in the movie. On another note, the returning characters all make sense from April to Dean. With April, Luke is her father and since the show is taking place during seasons, her showing up in Summer or or even Spring makes sense due to breaks at college. With Dean, I can so seeing him finally going back to school, got his degree, but ended up joining a union and being a construction or public worker for Stars Hollow. I agree with many others about Kirk needing some stability now. The joke of his over 200 hundred jobs or being in children's plays is old and tired. Sean Gunn is in his 40s now. I be fine if Kirk was now an Associate Selectman (Since he idolizes Taylor) or even a town Alderman. That way he would still be involve in everything, but actually have one job. Plus, since Lulu is also going to be back and while I shutter at the thought, I'm sure they have one or two kids by now. Lulu could even be a school principal or assistant principal since she would have had to gone back to get a Masters to keep her teacher's license. Chris goes without saying and if they are going to do Georgia, I doubt it would be the same little girl who played her and GiGi would be in High School now. We know that Francine is not showing up by any reports, so it would be just Christopher in his: "I look good, but I'm an asshole, but everyone loves me" smile. Now a big shock would not be April or even if they reveal that Liz and TJ are showing up, but if Mr. Kim finally made his grand entrance.

Sorry, I miss read the article, it said she would be happy to be invited back, but wasn't.

You are right, now that I look back, they had horrible lawyers across the board. Emily's lawyer couldn't make the case just disappear. How Rory got hit with so much community service and other stuff while Logan, not only a repeat offender for doing way worst was just: "Here is a tap on the finger, have fun in Europe." Richard's lawyer for his business was really a moron, for a former boss to know that much about Richard's business after he "retired" and to be able to twist him like that stinks of Alan's lawyers from Two and a Half Men. Now, really, they must of have all gone to the same law school. Because the GG clan when it came to lawyers was horrible. Let, Luke puts out his work to get his partial custody of April and it was: "Sign here, sign here, do you agree, yes or no?" "Congrats, you have rights you should have had since day 1." With the Gilmores it was: "Duh! What? Go to hell!" -
Another decent episode, but of course Mitch would never think he is a bad teacher, and he's just too good to be a "good" teacher. Because as we've seen, the man can't: coach soccer, can't paint, can't do fundraisers, can't stand up to others, ect. I knew as soon as Gloria got better at golf with the instructor, they were going to show Lily learning from Manny better and playing great. However, the fact remains, they don't know what to do with Manny and Luke. This was about three episodes in a row that he wasn't phoning in his lines or had a point to the story. However, its limited and with Manny its: Joe says something weird or stupid, Manny corrects him or feels annoyed/jealous of his little brother, wash rinse repeat. I was laughing at the end when Luke handed Phil Rocky the rock and said: "You know why."

Actually, Liz was confirmed in at least the first episode, after that we don't know. April is really the big question considering her involvement and the use of her in the last two seasons. Not seeing Anna, Colin or Gigi or Brian is fine by me. I be very shocked if Zach wasn't there, especially considering the actor just floats from project to project according to IMDB. Gil is really a good question considering Sebastian Bach's schedule, but hey if Weil and Jared can do it, why not Gil?

We all pretty much figured that Chris would be back. There was no way Rory's father wouldn't be on the show since AS-P loved writing the character so much and Sutcliff is pretty free. I figured we would find out what happened to Dean. AS-P before said she felt she didn't really give the character a good send off and believe it or not, you have to wonder what happened to him over the last 10 years. Did Dean get his life together? Did he go back to school? Did he remarry? Did he have kids? Plus, as I said, there isn't much talk if Supernatural is coming back in the fall and if it does, might be the end after almost 12 years. A major long run for any series, especially for the CW. I guess we will find out if Sookie and Jackson will return or not, their appearance makes the most sense but with Melissa McCarthy doing more movies, its hard to tell since Mike and Molly has finished its final season filming and will air in a couple of months. Yet, with Ghostbusters and a few other things coming up soon for Melissa. Outside a Skype call, she might not be as free as Weil is. Of course that leaves April too, both Switch at Birth and GG film in LA. Plus, I think SB just wrapped up filming of the current season. So, I think April will show up. If not, at least in Spring or Summer episodes since April would be in College now. Come see her dad over break or during the summer.

Thanks for clarifying the episode order.

I have to agree and as a result, Gould is almost constantly phoning in his performance or not even trying. However, episodes like the one you mentioned or last night's episode give Luke some fun stuff to work off of. They are not only entertaining, but work for the character. Not, him walking around going: "Duh... which way did they go George?" Or him doing things that would get him a restraining order. I remember when Manny said in the ski trip episode: "What is wrong with you?" Because they have Luke saying some things that would warrant consoling most of the time.
-
I agree, especially something like this being 90 minute episodes that are set in the following order: Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter. Plus, it sounds like they are all being filmed back to back. So, Milo can be in the end of Spring (Episode 1) and then show up more front and center in Summer (Episode 2). I know there were rumors that Jared might show up since SuperNatural is in question of returning in the fall and I could see AS-P wanting to snatch him up like she always did and put him in Summer briefly before having him show up in Fall (episode 3). One thing about shows that stream like this on Netflix or Amazon. They film on a regular basis with no breaks and sometimes they will film all of the scenes for an actor with another actor because they can't be around during other filming time. Hence they are finished with everything in 3 months instead of spread across an 8 month schedule like other TV or Cable series. However, I want the characters like Jess, Logan or even April showing up for character and plot reasons and not just because they are free and need a paycheck. As we know how that turns out.

That's exactly it. I remember in the film, The Help, where the one maid finds a large diamond ring that looks to have been missing for days and then pockets it. Before being arrested. However, in the book it was stated the ring had disappeared a few days prior and then the maid finding it makes it look like she stole it. Logan here had been taking things he believed were not only small, but to the point no one would notice they were gone. Of course, as we know, Emily sees all and knows all in her house (even though she can't see her own attitude was like her mother-in-law's). Rory not saying anything showed her so spineless, it was like when Emily fired one maid because she dare to have a conversation with Rory who opened up the conversation to begin with. Rory couldn't have said: "Grandma, it wasn't her fault, I talked to her, but what is so wrong with that?" One huge UPO was on Emily's constant revolving door of maids (which I'm sure will continue in the rival). AS-P missed a gold mine after the one maid sued her and Lorelai butchered the defense by mocking Emily on the stand. I would have loved to seen almost a month's worth of episodes where no maid wanted to work for the Gilmore Household. Leaving Emily to do the daily routines and then Richard hiring a butler. Similar to the one that was working for him during the separation story line. Because he was in several episodes before getting the boot after Wedding Bell Blues. Because Richard didn't fire someone just because they tripped in a doorway or asked a question. I know it was a constant joke, but the writers started pulling ideas out of their asses to warrant the maids being fired in the last few seasons. I remember one was so bad, you have no idea how she was hired in the first place. Another was calling in sick and I remember one tripped leaving the room in one episode and Emily went: "She's done!" -
I am in the same boat. I was loosing it at Erica's reactions.

Wow. Didn't see that coming, but I'm very interested. I could see her running Miss Patty's studio as Miss Patty probably isn't moving like she use to by now. However, will her character talk about... gasp! Dance?

Everyone hates not only April's introduction but also how Luke handled it. Let's face it, if someone all of a sudden showed up at my door claiming to be my child from a relationship from eons ago. Trust me, my world would be shaken to the core, but would I hide this from my wife and family? Answer... no. I wouldn't. Even waiting for a DNA test, this would be something I would meet with in private with the main family and try to deal with it. While how stupid the plot was (it was extremely stupid) how April came riding in on her bike talking a man who had no idea: "Hey, I'm doing a science fair experiment to see if you are my father or two other guys. My name is April... blah blah blah!" My first reaction would have been: "Are you insane?" Not the deer in the headlights followed by: "Is it true Anna?" with her response: "Well, you said on our one date you hated kids, I figured you would have been a lousy dad." Such utter and completely hack eyed, wanting to assassinate her own show because of Moon Lighting Curse BULLSHIT! That rivals anything up to the current season of Castle, is completely STUPID!... I'm better now sorry. Luke's handling of Wedding Bell Blues and then April Gate, completely destroyed Luke's character and even Luke Patterson said a few years later after the show ended: "I really wish Luke wouldn't have been such a moron in those stories." -
I forgot about Grant (Silly me). I'm sure we will see him and I have to admit, AS-P not using Taylor? That would not make any sense, especially when the actor is free and in good health. I see really no point with Marty or Digger showing up. While Digger was a main cast member in season 4, he really has no point in the series unless he is buying up Richard's business after his death. Though the actor is apparently going to be in Luke Cage, so who knows? I can't believe they are even questioning Chris not being in it. AS-P loves Rick Sutcliff as much as Jared and loves writing Christopher for good or ill. That shouldn't have even been a question.

No, I agree, Season 5 is where it all started and then continued to tear everyone apartment in season 6. Season 7 tried to start mending and fixing things, mostly due to different show runners inheriting AS-P temper tantrum writing before she left the series. Season 6 still has good episodes, but the fuse was lit midway in season 5 and characters just started exploding in season 6 and why everyone pretty much hates the season. Five was the calm before the storm. -
Yeah, that's low for that time slot. Seriously, ABC pull the plug, you can't get blood out of this turnip anymore.
