I agree, it even made sense how Jessica has been this season and her reasons. It all makes sense and I loved how Eddie pointed out to his brothers they are just teacher pets and now they are together, they should figure it out.

Bow writing a book, this I could see. I did actually enjoy Bow, who is a doctor and knows about vaccines going against the other online mothers. Because Ruby said it best, 50 people will say one thing and another 50 others will say another and believe it. I loved Junior talking about everyone hating the grilled cheese sandwich picture. I was cracking up at that.

That's part of it, plus ClassDojo works as classroom management, behavior and reward control. As a tech teacher who has used ClassDojo off and on for the past few years. I have found ClassDojo to work great in K-4, but then it starts to lose students. However, I did try ClassDojo in PK-3-K and half the kids got the concept, but then it went from there. Brightwheel works in the younger classrooms as it does everything: assignments, management, point system, parent contact, and even teacher share. So, if you are looking for the things that ClassDojo can't do, Brightwheel is the answer then go with Seesaw after that and then either Google Classroom or Canvas when students ready high school level.

Yes, it works either way. If not renewed, good place to leave off. If they get season 4, plenty of places to go. If they do get a season 4, good way is to split the season in half again leading up to the baby being born, Jackson getting his driver's license. Danny looking for a new job. In fact it would be great if Danny got back into sports writing/announcing which was his original job when the series began. In this day and age from podcasts to several long time sports announcers dying in California, be great for Danny to start again. Then have the other half with Steph and Jimmy being parents for the first time, even Steph getting a new job herself, Tommy starting Pre-school and Max heading to middle school.

Original Flavor Season Talk: Dinner at Rodbell's
readster replied to Rhondinella's topic in Roseanne [V]
How very true. My money problems were due to some bad choices in my early to mid 20s. I got out of them and sadly got into a relationship with someone who left me broke and over $8K in debt. I had just gotten myself out of debt, gotten married and was expecting our first time. Then I was fired from my job and while my wife was still working, she was still spending money or learning to her parents for advice on things. We ended up getting more into the hole as a result. Because she had to LISTEN to her folks on money. Anyhow, flashforward to now, my wife has learned from those mistakes and my in-laws apologized for being "out of touch" with today's life style. Hence, we got into money problems again and we are in our early 40s. But to be realistic we will probably never truly be out of debt again for a long time. So, like the Connors who have made those decisions constantly and even when they get out of debt, keep the same habits. So, I can see after all these years they are still in financial problems. As they say, you are born poor and if you make the same mistakes as you were born into, you will die poor. -
You be surprised what people can do with $2K.

Speechless Close To Home: Real Families, Real IEPs
readster replied to Drogo's topic in Speechless [V]
Congrats on that. My son has gone through the same issues. He also has sensory issues, but he just switched schools and his old one closed. So, the SpEd staff was shuffled around and he got a different set of teachers. As a result, his language is great, but he gets over hyped on things and needs more break times. Unlike the previous year it was the other way around. Wish at times, special ed departments would communicate about things. They were unaware of his speech issues until the first day of class, but knew his sensory issues, but they didn't send his notes on what they did with him. Why shows like Speeceless go to extremes with teachers on TV series. They take the story about the bad ones instead of the great ones and push it to the extreme. But enough on my own kids and one of the teachers I was pissed at. The show needs to just stick with: "Because they moved so much and the current schools just didn't do their work." needs to be their reason for JJ to be off track because that is something that Maya and Jimmy would feel bad about because they know they caused it. -
Even more on Dan because he didn't want to have things so "forced" on him as things were and it worked better because DJ made the decision and curosity more natural. Unlike say on the Good Wife where the daughter wanted to be all religion and Julian Margeles's character was: "Religion, bad!" However, racism in the episode I mentioned felt so forced.

Spoilers and Spoiler Speculation: Benchmarking

Arizona would work because of her growing up with an older brother who died in the military and that her parents didn't want to have mentioned when she got married (which I think made no sense since their dad was life time military). It would show how Arizona had a loving family that faced tragedy while Alex was constant crap since day 1 and made it to a successful life, though with poor personal choices and anger issues. April would have been great too as she was in such a large family that was more devoted to religion and "God will see a way" verses Alex's: "You do your best, but if someone pisses you off enough, kick their ass!" Better contrast not: "Alex went into foster care and Maggie was an adoptive kid and she was sheltered and Alex was barely a child..." because it just shows Maggie as a favorite of the writers/producers when she isn't much of anything else. In fact even die hard fans say: "Enough with Maggie for a while." -
Something that bothered me the most of that appearance was that Gina's dad comes in basically going: "Open up!" Instead of: "Hi, I'm Gina's father." Roseanne: "Oh, come on in." Of course they wanted to show that deep down people are racial, never liked that message. At least why DJ didn't want to kiss Gina was because of various things. I could flash forward years later and DJ went: "You know what, you are attractive and I was a young teen guy, what did I know at the time. Stupid hormones."

Yep, like two seasons ago when they were having financial problems and Junior used Zoey's favorite products to play the stock market until Zoey saw what he was doing. Of course, instead of Zoey wanting her cut, she sabotages Junior instead for using her. How about how much Jack wants something to happen from chest bumps to tagging along on things he knows he can't do. He keeps going and going and even looking for ways to get his way. It isn't until it finally happens he goes: "Oh, this isn't that cool." You think everyone else would realize if they just do what Jack wants first, he would learn is isn't great and stop there, but no DRAG it on as much as possible.

Yes, but who wants to use continuity. I mean a throw away line could have been: "I decided to go back into therapy because of my lost of jobs and stress the past 2 years. Cam didn't want to come because we both agreed, we fought more."

Let's see: Alex has horrible home life, abusive father, mother who mental problems, basically raised his brother and sister himself. Was in foster care due to his dad being gone and his mother's constant break downs. Maggie is adopted into a loving home (with apparently a controlling step father to her step mother) is so bright she skips a few grades, but can't deal with dating and "teen life" and can't sleep in the same bed with men and they all leave her and then she gets jealous when they move on with their lives. Yes, totally mirrors of each other, excuse me while I go throw up in the corner. Jo would make the most sense due to her being homeless and how she met and married Paul. That would mirror Alex very well. Or DeLuca who had a split home, basically everyone backstabbing him in some way from the family, to co-workers to girlfriends. Also could mirror Alex. Everyone else... we don't really need any more info. The only thing on Maggie I would like to know was why her "step dad" was considered by her mother to be so controlling to the point, she had the affair for several years. Plus, add in the fact the real reason they stayed together for Maggie, if they did it because "She is not emotionally mature." that would make sense because she is approaching 30 and still acts like a 10 year old. -
Yep, it happens. I've known schools from other educators where they had 3 kids who were constantly, constantly causing trouble since 2nd grade together. When they were seperated they not only did work, but didn't have behavior problems. Yet, they got them to middle school and didn't put two and two together or said: "keep these three in separate classes as much as possible." Well the notes got lost in high school and the three were failing classes they were in together and passing classes they weren't part of. Yet no one got the picture from the admin to counseling until they were juniors and two were not on track to graduate. They put them all in separate classes and had them do nigh school and they made graduation, but barely. Yet, there were constant evidence and written notes and yet, things "got lost". Because no one talked to each other or figured: "Someone else will tell the schools." Yep, so JJ non on track because of constant moving or some schools going: "Oh yeah... I think I turned that paper work in. I'm not sure it was a few years ago." Is plausible.

Yes, nothing made sense. Soon as Kirk told Lorelai: "Lulu wants kids." I wanted to go: "You've been married almost 12 years!" "What?" Hell, Lulu being a teacher could have decided to become a principal or something and they felt they had money for it. Or how about Kirk's mother still being alive? Luke's: "She's my daughter!" Crap and after almost 9 years they were not married yet. I don't want to get into Rory or even Logan, because Logan had turned into the very thing he hated, his father. Rory not having clean underware, interviewing a thieving drunk author who then hated how Rory made her look. Because you know, the TRUTH hurts! How about everything with Lane and her family, talk about waste of the twins and a certain husband: "I'm not me yet." with his stupid beard.

They've fallen into the "Home Improvement Trap" That's when the writers who didn't know what to do with a character in an episode (mostly Jill), they would be sick. They fell on Jill being sick a lot of episodes or one of the boys having something because hey were comfortable writing it. It's like with Hailey, they don't know what to do with her character so writing her as a ditz or obsessed with her phone is their safety piece. Just with Manny or Alex doing something that not only doesn't make sense, but has no resolution. Like with Alex feeding the stray cats and saying: "We'll hang out next time." That just made no sense.
-
Yep and even with the ear ring, what's to worry, but remember this is Manny. He still thinks people care about his theatrics and he feels he is going to piss off Gloria if he tries anything different.

Summer gets torn apart by everyone from critics to even die hard fans. Even later on with the P's saying it ate up the entire budget of the episode and why they couldn't do anything else. Even later saying that filming for Summer was really bad on everyone's schedule, but they wanted to film the episode because of schedules for all cast members for summer. Or they would focus on people who could only be there a day or two like Jared or Melissa and even April. The problem is, it just showed how high the egos of the Ps are and even more just how bad season 6 was.

The problem with that is unless Alex is a witness, and this being Grey's. Then you add into a court issue with Jo being tried for murder or was it self defense. Which, I hate for that to go there. -
That's also plausible. Some school districts public or private there are always holes in certain records. In fact, two schools (one I used to work for) got into an academic problem because they went through an audit and found two discreteness and was caused by the previous administration. Found out two students had skipped a required class that they should have taken during their freshman/sophomore year and were now seniors. They were told they would not graduate unless they met those requirements. One was able to fit it in no problem, the other had to go to summer school to meet the requirement. This only happened not only because of the audit, but the one who made the class up during their final semester had just accepted a sports scholarship and this came up. It happens all the time and the reason why it happened was because the previous administration (three years removed by that time) was not only letting kids coast by, but were looking the other way to make their test scores look better.
-
Exactly! I would hate it if they did that. It would not only be lazy, but show that the writers don't know how things work and as much as this is a sitcom, the problem is you can only go so far. I like to chalk it up to lost of paperwork and a few other things. As for his teachers not letting him "coast by" considering everyone from the principal to half the staff act like idiots and get happy about the most lamest things, they are going to choose now to be professional?
-
Or how about: "Junior, I do things that anyone else would pause and think is stupid to begin with." Followed by Jack: "We should do this Diane..." followed by her even saying: "Do you ever listen to what you say?" That is something I also realized for so long both Junior and Jack were so stupid you just couldn't understand how they knew how to breath. What about Jack's night terrors that only magically pop up when he sleeps in the same room as Junior or Dre. But if it's anywhere else, no problem. Yet who is scared to sleep in the same room with Jack? Dre and Junior. Hence force, why don't they just leave? Also, some days with Ruby, how the hell does she have money and then no money on a episode to episode basis and still cons everyone and yet no one has beaten her to death.

Truth be told most abusers are great con artists, men or women. They keep the story true and when you have someone like Jo who really kept constantly trying to hide who she was (unless majorly drunk) and you even have it going where Arizona knew him at one point and even that he is a very respected doctor. Then why would you think these things about him be true? So, that I find to be very believable and as much as we don't want this to drag as it has for 3 years. Two episodes seems short unless he is caught hitting her or something. -
Exactly! Dylan has grown as a character and not retracted or just not done anything. Why I'm frustrated with all the kids on American House Wife. Because all their attitudes and lack of intelligence and selling out has gotten old after barely 2 seasons. With everyone here in the second season (except for the Halloween Episode). It's very natural from Dylan to JJ. I'm with everyone about the lack for graduation, I do hope it is due to the moving around and switching because it is the most believable and be something that would work. But with that said, they can't keep all the kids in the same school forever. Even the Goldbergs realized that after keeping Erica in school a year longer.
