  1. Practical shoes to throw at you if you're standing to far away for a good smack around the ear 😅
  2. I watched the first two episodes and find it likeable enough. Its surprisingly unlike HIMYM in some aspects, but there are subtle connections and its refreshing that the premise is slightly different aswell. I was getting a bit bored with Hilary on Younger, but she is very lively in this. Love Kim Catrall.
  3. Kim Catrall is on How I Met Your Father (she Hillary Duff's character's older self), which has its first two episodes out this week and she is looks absolutely radiant.
  4. It is a better name, but there probably is a, or even several, Hot Buns bakeries or delivery services out there and TV shows have to be really careful not to run into legal trouble with that sort of thing.
  5. I was thinking, during this episode, that they are like the Mel & Sue of judges. LOVE their energy and how emphatically they phrase their critiques.
  6. More tavel stuff from Sue: Sue Perkins' Big American Road Trip UK viewers can watch it on Channel 4.
  7. When the paps got that picture fashion bloggers insisted it was the producers staging fake scenes to drum up media attention and that Carrie would never ... 😂
  8. Is it an unpopular opionion to say that the actors/actresses should not have that much input on their character's story? Thats what writers are for. Everytime someone mentions that Cynthia Nixon was the one pushing for a queer Miranda storyline I am reminded of that scene in Growing Up Brady where the actors insist they have a say in the creative development and they want musical episodes, Cindy wants Susan to get a horse, Eve wants to quit school and become a fashion designer, the boys want older girlfriends and some street cred. Marie wants Marsha wants to marry a foreign prince ffs.
  9. It coud've been worse, I guess. I am not quite sure where they are going with Nya's story. They are a cute couple and I am mildly interested in her character, but giving her scenes unconnected tot the core trio doesn't fit with the rest of the show. I appreciate that they took a few episodes before Seema joined the group lunches/cocktails.
  10. Original Air Date: 20 Jan 2022
  11. Have they ever given them a task specifically inspired by the contestants' own hobbies. The potters have always taken inspiration from their interests, but it was never part of the brief. It was an interesting week because it highlighted who can think outside the box. The potters that built boxy designs and the ones that took it further. I enjoyed the robot clock, because the potter also bent the hands and pendulum to fit the design. Tom's chest rug is quite distracting, it would have Tom Selleck weep with envy.
  12. The episode wasn't bad and that mini reunion wasn't cringe - thats some praise from someone who thought the show should've been binned after season 1. I still have issues with mainly the Kat/Phil/Randy scenes in the cafe feeling like mediocre, exaggerated stage work. And that Cheyenne Jackson and Mayim have so little chemistry. Why didn't they cast Christopher Rivas as Max, he is adorable with Kat.
  13. If you are referring to the 'Place The Blame' BI, it is about bringing back a woman: "... to bring her back. If she declines ..." (Kim Catrall, I assume). Its been in the news that they planned a couple of flashbacks scenes with Carrie and Big in Paris for the season finale, but that those will be edited out because of Chris Noth.
  14. Good grief. They really think they are the bee's knees and their scripts are pure gold, aren't they? Listening to them fawning over each other is even worse than watching the episode.
  15. It is worth noting that Cynthia Nixon directed this episode. She probably had quite the hand in how Miranda's story and those flashbacks were portrayed. I thought the episode had its moments. The lunch in the park where they had that fight and Carrie said that they've already lost Samantha, that would've been enough to explain her absence. No need for all the sly comments in the other episodes. Otherwise, it was a another cringefest and @RedHawk 's crystal ball re cultural appropriation wasn't that far off either. The opening scene in the new apartment looked like it was shot in a green room with the apartment rendered in. Have they reshot a few scenes to make Standford's absence a bit more plausible?
  16. Original Air Date: 13 Jan 2022
  17. It depends on the Network and regulations. Both, the BBC and Channel 4, are public service cooporations and they are not allowed to do proper product placement on the show. There was some hooha about them using SMEG fridges and Kitchen Aid mixers too often or that the logos were shown in shots too often. They have to remove logos or use different appliances for the next series. Thats why the bakers also get their ingredients in glass containers or wrapped in brown or white paper.
  18. Unusual for this show to air this early in the year, I didn't really have it on my radar. Lots to love in the first episode, and how cool that one of the contestants is basically Dr Who royalty. I like Ellie Taylor as a comic and she is a pleasant host - although not as charismatic as Siobhan. They should've given Ellie the Sewing Bee gig. Whoever chose the location and a potting studio that requires the contestants to carry their precious creation down those damn stairs to the kiln is an evil genius.
  19. I always thought Carrie treated Aidan like Big treated her and that's why I never had a problem with Carrie running back to Big, they really deserved each other. And with Big and Carrie getting married they at least ensured that nobody else got the short end of their sticks. Thinking back, it was hilarious how Carrie basically wanted to be Big's Aidan. She wanted him to change and give up his vices for her like she gave up smoking for Aidan. Didn't work for either of them.
  20. Watched both episodes and I am not that keen on Sarah Pascoe has the new host, I am afraid. Maybe she can convince me with the regular show. The 2nd episode has Patrick and Esme dressed up and dancing as cheese and wine.
  21. I wonder if the showrunners are considering recasting Samatha. Kim Basinger and Sharon Stone were among those rumored to potentially replace KC and with a good make-up department it could be done (Samantha surely had a few nips and tucks). I am not totally against - it would be better than the snide remarks and texts and she doesn't have to be in every episode.
  22. Anyone watch the new special about French cars? I didn't even make it halfway through. It was one for the car connoisseurs, I guess.
  23. The first couple of episodes are already available on the iPlayer for UK viewers. They aired on Boxing day and it looks like we'll get 2 episodes every Sunday. So far, I'm not enjoying this as much as I thought I would. The actors are allright, but the story is a bit of a slog. Some critics thought the sets looked a bit cheep. Curious what you lot think.
  24. and the inevitable return of Aidan.
  25. Was their script editing department on furlough? They are cramming three seasons worth of stories into every couple of episodes. Its like the Titanic going so hard starboard that she hits the iceberg on the other side. Out of context the stories are ok (-ish), but they need to be spaced out more. I really like Seema.
