I had the same thought. He’s 14, I think - they should have had this conversation long ago. Maybe he hasn’t known anyone who died before? But like … it’s never come up in conversation? There are picture books that explain death. (Years ago my best friend’s son had a friend in his preschool class who lost his mom very unexpectedly and apparently the teacher did great at explaining it to the kids.) Tichina Arnold dropping the food and running when Miss Kim’s sister showed up was hilarious. She still does good physical comedy. My mom’s cousin gave me a deviled egg holder that belonged to his mother, who died at 90. I hate deviled eggs. I kept it because it felt wrong to throw it out but it sits in a cabinet unused. So I kind of get what Tina meant about honoring the dead, but if I were Marty those globes would sit in a box.
