Marissa’s heartbreak was hard to watch.

Yeah… if a man told me he’d been a sperm donor for his friend and her wife, I think the only thing I’d be comfortable with is if he’d terminated his rights so the wife could adopt the kid(s) as the second parent. I’d be fine if he were in their lives, but I would want to avoid a custody/child support situation. That is CLEARLY not what went on here. The friend is not a threat to any romantic relationship Tyler has (I actually don’t think them having sex is that important, given that she seems conflicted about it at best and they’re not together), but if she’s to be believed, at the very, very least, Tyler is on the hook for the kids financially, to say nothing of what he might owe them emotionally.

I did see Ali Wong’s special! Hannah is a five (five to me is average), and she’s a complete asshole. I did like that Nick called her out on her demeaning him. I wouldn’t have entertained that who does what, what are your responsibilities conversation with her school marm notebook. Also as you say, he donated to a friend. Thrice! Over a period of time! He didn’t go to a sperm bank and do it anonymously, where he doesn’t even KNOW who got his sperm. Presumably he still sees this friend so even if he’s not Dad, the kids know him. This is something you tell out of the gate and I would have a lot of questions. That said, I don’t think Ashley is going anywhere. I didn’t love Ashley or Marissa’s dresses. The second one Taylor tried on, the one she went with, was gorgeous. Simple and elegant.

I was like “how did he get here?” And then he was whining about getting up at 8 AM, which is not early? And not even an amicable split (I do think they’re probably just not compatible - the part of the breakup where they were talking about how often they talked and by what medium was telling), but “I don’t ever want to see you again?” Huh?!

She really was. I’m pro-pre-nup, but the way she was talking was really crass and inappropriate. It’s not her place to demand that of him.

I fell out, and then I felt really bad for her when she said she just felt “so sad.” Like if you really go into this with the intent to find your spouse, and you think you do, to have it blow up like that is really awful. It’s not about the kinks (though given her reaction, she wasn’t into whatever he was texting about), it’s about the cheating and how it all played out. She was gushing over him before so i bought her heartbreak. Yeah, that was foul. “Wearing condoms isn’t pleasurable,” well, neither is getting an IUD. Neither are the side effects from hormonal birth control for some women. The dismissive way he was speaking about it was gross to me - like, “I can’t be slightly inconvenienced so birth control is YOUR problem.” Also I hate his two rattail locs. He seems ashamed of her for it. She seemed to be pressing herself smaller for him, which I’m always wary of.
