How’s Christmas shopping going? I got a really good deal on something for my brother today.

The way Justine is talking about her kid dropping out of school to raise her siblings makes me want to drop-kick her in the chest. Her mother is right. Her mom is critical of her decisions because they’re bad decisions and her mother ends up dealing with the fallout.

Yeah, that just isn’t a nice place. I’d be put off too, frankly. He basically said he only has women over to sleep with them, which is a turn-off. Ikechi talked about how meager his place was, but it really wasn’t. Decent size, nice views, and he has some expensive stuff. Instruments and Pelotons aren’t cheap. I’m sure Emem outearns him (nurse practitioners make good money and it seems like she owns her practice), but he seems to be doing fine. Juan’s decor was pretty bad. The drywall cart TV stand was not it. Nice light in the place though (my place has lots of natural light, which is one of the things I like most). What’s fishy about Karla (who I really can’t stand) is that she would have had to give a couple of months’ notice that she wasn’t renewing. Maybe she knew she’d been picked by then. I suspect Juan is chill about Karla because he knows she’s not it. Like “I’ll see this through, but we’re not going to know each other in a few weeks.” Loved Allen’s kitchen minus the electric stove, which maybe can’t be helped.

My mom lives in a senior living community and I agree with your post but especially the part about the women outnumbering the men and the gossip. There’s a man in my mom’s place that’s apparently very popular. He’s like 93 but looks much younger (Black don’t crack). He’s lived there for almost 20 years. And the gossip is so real. Mom has a meal plan and she also has a full kitchen (her place is one-bedroom apartments; there’s a nursing unit and a memory care unit too and those are more hospital settings). The dining hall is much more casual than this place (Mom’s place is nice but not as nice or expensive as this). I wanted Calbert and Charles to make up so bad! Their friendship was so lovely. “A new friend, which feels like a miracle.” SOBBING. This is really just such a good show.

I absolutely love Charles and Calbert’s friendship. I fully cried when Calbert was talking about his son at the baseball game and when they were talking about their wives.
