  1. Eugene was shot while he was waiting in line to board the bus. How is it that Rudy wasn't seen? If he had to be able to see to shoot Eugene, Eugene and everyone else there would have seen him. Now he goes and bleeds all over Lee's nice furniture. She was a social worker last season? How fortunate that Eugene finds his way there. Then gets away at the hospital by yelling out his name when Rudy was closing in on him. Big Mo is making enemies, maybe even some within her own gang, while Little Mo is still in the game? Jimmy cuts a deal with the NY mob while Gina is demanding more blood! Her papa was missing this episode, but he already told Jimmy to "sack up!" so he's served his purpose? How does Beckwith know where Michael is? He hasn't been driving since getting out of prison so the first time he takes Elizabeth's car, on his way to meet Nancy, Beckwith intercepts him? Judges usually don't have this much excitement in their lives or come into contact with criminals outside the court room. But Michael can't avoid tripping over there everywhere he steps. Is this suppose to end with closure for Michael, how his wife was murdered and he already knows how Adam was murdered. Somehow end up with his grandson in his life?
  2. DC to Costa Rica. She wanted a B&B near the beach but with a communal space. She chose the project instead of a Turkey option. It was the only one under her desired budget of $200k but not by much, the renovations she talked about would push it way over. 3 months later, she hadn’t started, not even had plans. She was talking about how she had adjusted to life in CR. Her friend and the realtor pointed out that the turnkey would allow her to make money immediately but she said money isn’t her main priority. Turns out she had flipped a lot of homes when not working as a lawyer. Looked like she renovated to her vision and probably profited. Made me wonder if that was her goal in, to renovate, get the business going, then cash out. So is she really living in CR full time? Says she’s quit her job with a Fortune 300 co and presumably renovation in CR would demand a lot more of her time. Interesting thing in this ep is a new agent instead of Sarah who has done a lot if not all eps in CR. The location was on THE Caribbean, as opposed to the Pacific coast. So maybe lack of familiarity with that market or it’s not easy to get out to this area.
  3. Yes. And he's in the pocket of Jimmy too.

    Season 01

They were going to have a love interest at some point but this Gaby hookup seems like lazy writing. So she doesn't have libido, which they try to quickly establish with one scene of her not being into some guy and then her talking about not having desire since her divorce. That is suppose to lead to this drunken hookup? Thing is Seagel is only 43 and the actress must be in her 30s so maybe they're not so far apart in age. But just like Liz sticking her nose into everything, these colleagues, neighbors and patients are too involved with each other, outside of their formal roles. They're socializing a lot outside the office, which isn't abnormal but it just seems like a lot of overlap. It's a very insular social circle.
  5. I guess Jesse Armstrong could have come up with some B plots and add another season. Would mean more money for everyone involved in production as well as HBO, which probably would let him do whatever he wanted. But maybe he wanted to stick to his plan or maybe just wanted to complete the show and either take a break or work on other projects. A sign of integrity maybe.
  6. TLOU released on Saturday that week, IIRC. In any event, a lot of these big shows like House of Dragon get a lot of views throughout the week in between new episodes. Also a lot of viewing through streaming, not just linear HBO channels.
  7. So Amber is going to be in this? Wonder what the timelines are for Ride and Die filming, the Reunion filming and this World Championship season and her pregnancy. Was she pregnant at any time during Ride and Die filming or was there a long period between the shooting of that season and the Reunion? She must have been pregnant during the World Championship shoot?
  8. Only thing I can recall is Nurys bragging about her golden pussy. These players get made up and try to get notice, yapping at each other or having some fake emotional moments like them being happy about Ambers pregnancy. The Challenge must be big time to fly almost the whole cast to London, very expensive city. Do these reunion episodes get as high ratings as the regular episodes?
  9. Visited Noosa in November. Very popular, high cost area. in fact even parking is prohibitive in the main drag near the beach. Also crowded, hard to find parking mid day. So if they commute for part time jobs, parking could eat up their earnings unless they’re in a different area. maybe the place in town didn’t have a parking spot for them or maybe they don’t even have a car, the one in the episode was just for show. if they’re taking the bus, who knows how often they run to the Hinterlands. I can see the appeal of the place they chose, with space and privacy, not too far from town. Also saving some money. how do they go directly from her graduating to them both getting jobs though? Work visas aren’t instant, certainly not for restaurant jobs.
  10. Is there going to be a dedicated forum for this World Edition? Or maybe use the USA one? But it's now drawing the regular Challenge and Challenge All Star players.
  11. Just finished watching. I knew there were controversies about Koreans living in Japan and the comfort women, which this show didn't touch on. The open racism is to be expected, the occupying power have to dehumanize the people they're occupying. That justifies probably treating them like slave labor to build up Japan. The talk of building the first subways in Asia with Korean laborers sound like the Asian laborers who were exploited by Qatar to build up stadiums for the World Cup. It felt a lot like Roots in a way, people having to endure oppression and racism just to survive. Seems like the family is solidly middle class in the 1989 timeline so future seasons would show the path by which they improved their lot. But Solomon cutting a deal with that shady businessman and the dogs outside the old lady's house appear ominous. Even if you want him to get his revenge on his former employer, it shouldn't be at the expense of anyone else, who in this case didn't do anything to him, other than express her desire to be left alone. She also had grievances about what she'd endured in life, which wasn't too different from what Sunja had gone through. Solomon's father was looked down upon because he earned his living running pachinko parlors? Is it only Koreans who run these places, because only thing I'd known about pachinko was that is was supposedly very popular over there.
  12. Interesting article about the Japanese response to the show and other touchy subjects about the colonial period. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/apr/21/pachinko-tv-series-korea-japan-min-jin-lee
  13. I did like Adrian saying no initially to yoga. She probably went along with it to take a short shot of them doing it for the show. Also, she can stop over-using the adjective "fabulous." Sex and the City is now over a decade ago?
  14. Because the firings are a piece of theater. There is no consistent protocol that charter companies might have because this is a TV show, making it up as they go along, citing rules and policies one time but ignoring them in other times. Like whether crew can boink in guest cabins or not. You could tell in Down Under that Jason wasn't allowed to fire some crew, that he was told to put up with it. The producers decide when the firing will occur, after they got enough drama from the problem crew member. They block the scene of the firing, have cameras, lighting and mic in place. They probably do more than one takes for each party to spew out their little speeches. They certainly aren't organic or spontaneous.
  15. I think they love these guests because they're willing to play it up for the cameras with the tiaras and be outlandish as possible with the speedo guy. One woman wore these red heart-shaped glasses all the time, which seemed like she was willing to dress up but not act up as much as others in her party. The crew gets to snark on these guests too, probably something they enjoy capturing and airing. These guests don't seem like the types who would want to do these pseudo-olympics games. But they want to film something for TV so they're accommodating the producers. Alissa's attitude could be more common. These are not real jobs so no reason to GAF about being fired on TV. She doesn't seem worried that she might come off looking bad when she tries to get charter jobs after being on the show. Then you have Camille talking about vindication.🙄 What did they do, put her up in a hotel after being "fired" so she can weigh in well after she's left the yacht?
  16. Is it available on demand? I'd heard that initially, you had to watch it live at a specific time.
  17. Thing is, if this HH had already chosen this house and was living in it, she did a good job of being surprised, complaining about the exterior and the meat hook. Or pretending to be surprised about how nice the bathroom was.
  18. When he told her about his foot at the volleyball, she said he didn't report it to her.
  19. Fia should ask them to set her up in an apartment in another city. Or bottom line, get out of there, even if it means struggling financially. Maybe hock some jewelry and clothes.
  20. Does she have other income than Bravo? Does she do yacht charters outside the show? She may be more motivated to keep her place on BDM and the Bravo universe generally than having some personality which makes her lord it over these reality show celebrity wannabes. For instance, Kerry, Jason and Glen are more low-key, especially in their first seasons. Do they gradually become more assertive, insert themselves in more scenes as they do more seasons? If they do, that would be indicative of getting direction to show more of them bossing the crew.
  21. Remember the Dennis Miller show? After he really turned his politics? He wasn't quite bad as Bill these days but those smirking, sneering riffs that Miller used to do all the time was highly annoying.
  22. I guess for the first time in awhile, they didn't try to integrate sleep deprivation into the game, other than that first leg with the bike riding, though the difference between the first pair and the last pair only seemed to be about an hour or so. They may have had difficult time sleeping though, depending on the conditions. But a large chunk of the 100 hours seem to be time devoted for sleep and they overnighted at least 3 or 4 times during the 100 hours?
  23. I would have to think this was an expansion on the game? Inside the Episode, someone said they wanted to show the inner lives of characters. Joel was speaking to his brother, not a therapist, but he had a lot to get off his chest. Or shoulders. Seeing a doppelgänger of Sarah probably didn't help his confidence, a reminder that he failed to protect someone very close to him -- while he and Ellie have grown close -- they've saved each other's lives for one thing. Ellie is still confident in Joel's abilities even as he has doubts or is it that she's become so emotionally dependent on him that going with Tommy was out of the question, if she had a choice.
