  1. i would have thought "lehROY" would have been in there, too.
  2. Frequently. Unless, of course, they've never actually heard it before; then they usually mangle it, too. LOL
  3. I've been to plenty here in the boonies and have never seen it happen. One of my favorite auctioneers was funny and would say things like, "It'll last all your life - if you die when you oughta.", "If this works, we'll refund your money.", and things like that.
  4. Ah, damn - that would have been hilarious.
  5. I just looked up my state of Indiana and found a list of cities with names of countries, followed by cities with odd names. Countries: Rome, Mexico, Peru, Cuba, Lebanon, Crete, Brazil, Scotland, Denmark, China, Syria, Holland, and Ireland. Odd: Gnaw Bone, Munster, Waterloo, Zulu, the adjoining towns of Old Bath and New Bath, Santa Claus, and Versailles (pronounced "ver-sales")
  6. Titwit! Love it - sounds more entertaining than nitwit.
  7. Didn't have to change channels, but my older sister shared bunk beds with me. Not only did I have to wait for the lights to go off when SHE wanted, I had to climb down and turn them off when she started kicking the bottom of my mattress! Meanie.
  8. The St. Jude's commercials make me wonder if people know they don't accept everybody. Your kid has to be referred and qualify to be accepted as a patient. From their own website:

  10. And her bottom whiskers curl down.
  11. Ha! We didn't call them hooker heels back in the early '80s - we called them CFMPs (Come fuck me pumps)!
  12. They didn't, but some other source I read said that the results weren't used.
  13. Mom is 5'1", Dad was 6'2". My sister is the shortest at 5'2", I'm 5'6", and both brothers are about 5'10", so it does work. <weg> Mom didn't know how tall Dad was when she met him because he whistled at her in his car and then came back around to chat.
  14. She didn't have any cuts on her hands that I saw in this 1999 episode of Forensic Files: A week later during the silly string episode, her neck wound is healed without scabs. The doctor testified it was superficial, but admits it came close to her carotid artery. I think this might have been inadvertent on her part. The bloody knife had no cast-off or drips from being dropped, but there was a lot of blood near the tip, as if the stabber was dripping blood down their right arm when the knife was placed on the carpet. They found a bread knife returned to the knife rack that had evidence it was used to cut the window screen. That makes NO sense from an outside intruder. She said the intruder knocked down and broke a wine glass while she was chasing him, but the glass was on top of her blood and she had no cuts on her feet. Using luminol, police found she'd stood bleeding at the sink for a long time, and cleaned up some of the blood before the police got there. They also found cast-off blood on the back of her shirt consistent with repeated stabs with the right arm splashing blood backwards. The only thing that puzzles me is the sock, and I have to admit, my first thought was that the husband was in on it, too. ETA: Police speculated bruises on her forearm were likely caused by one or both victims fighting back, or trying to kick the knife away. And how does THAT happen, yet the husband doesn't wake up until he hears the wine glass break? Did they just decide to keep the youngest and kill the other two?
  15. Meds can be compounded into a lotion? Can all meds? My SIL has a cat we refer to as "special needs". She just doesn't know how to cat. She got her as an abandoned 3 wk old who hissed and spit and attacked people and other animals from day 1. She'd pick fights, stalk the kittens (so we could never leave them alone and they quickly learned to yell if she was near) and then pee on the couch, floor, or spare bedroom bed at night, but would howl if put in a crate at night. The vet said she was so anxious she'd literally give herself a urinary tract infection, so we treated that first. Then we started her on liquid Prozac about 6 months ago, and it has helped a lot. But it has alcohol in it, and possibly tastes horrible as well. Paula is the only one who can dose her, and she gags and foams. We were going to switch to pills (which she also hates) when the liquid runs out (soon). Now I'm wondering if the Prozac could be, too, to make it easier on her. For those wondering, we'd never rehome her or take her to a shelter, because either option would end up with her being euthanized, and she's Paula's bottle baby, and she loves her.
  16. Attacking that can of sardines with a tank was adorable.
