Chloe just got back from her spay and dental. She had 5 teeth taken out (less than they thought), and her uterus was still bruised and swollen and her ovaries were producing follicles to send her into heat again. No more for you, sweetie! The kittens (other than Aura) are in with Grandpa Mason to protect her belly. She still looks a little stoned and is staring at a squirrel out the window. LOL Believe it or not, they got another pregnant mama today, but don't have a livestream cam available until the current kittens are adopted. She was trapped in an auto shop, and x-rays confirm 3 or 4 kittens due in a few weeks. They've named her Princess Consuela. She looks young.

My first ticket wasn't doing much over the limit. In fact, my Dad said if I was going to have to pay for a ticket, earn it. He also said you can drive as fast as you want to, as long as you aren't the fastest one in sight, who will serve as a "lightning rod" for the police. It usually works, but not always. So that's my peeve.

Our three 9 month-old kittens go in and out all day, but sleep in a dog crate/kennel inside at night. We really didn't think they'd still be in it, but they really like sleeping in there, so we go with it. And they are kept inside if it is raining or even close to dark, because we have coyotes around here, too.

When the guy tells the little girl "Good!" after she makes a face with both brands of spinach, the look she shoots him made me laugh.

In my dreams, "me" is usually a house. Not always the same one, in the same place, and only once was it someplace real. Right after I was diagnosed with cancer, I dreamed I was just puttering around my then-current apartment. Then I looked up and realized it was full dark and the front door was wide open, as were the curtains. I woke up as I was running to shut everything. Didn't take a lot to figure out I was blaming myself for the cancer; that I'd somehow left myself open to the danger, somehow. Not true, but understandable, emotionally. Another time, I was in my house (in the dream, anyway). There was a guy there who acted like he belonged there, but I wasn't sure who he was. Was he a boyfriend? Just a friend? We went to bed together, and were murdered by an intruder that was already in the house because he yelled when he saw them. I now think he was a representative of all the people treating my cancer, and screwed up, somehow, causing my death. The intruder already in the house (that was me) was the cancer. So, weird anxiety dreams where you are a house or car aren't that unusual.

I thought it was Cadillac, too.

Aura (cleft palate) is looking great! They taught her how to drink out of one of those bottles for rabbits or hamsters, and it's working much better than a bowl or syringe. She has really caught onto eating the kibbles without choking and has eaten as many as 80 in an hour! She's catching up in size and man, has she gotten active and feisty! She was attacking Chloe and Ramona last night and having a ball. They have 3 new kittens about 3-4 wks old. There is a property near them with the Harvie colony, that has been sold and will be developed. So they are in the process of trapping and relocating them. They found the 3 kittens without their mama, but are hoping they can get her soon and reunite them. They are all boys, named Ray, Avory, and Arthur, after a Kinks theme (Arthur is the name of an album). http://www.tinykittens.com/harvie

Yesterday, Ramona's 3 (Beezus, Huggins, and Ribsy) got fixed. Nakia (sole survivor of Rula) wasn't quite big enough, so she kept the others company. Today, Colby and Cheddar from Chloe got fixed, too. All are romping merrily back at "home".

Just saying that my trade school (all I could afford) was during the early 80s recession. My county didn't participate in student loans (lower cost) and you couldn't get one if your county didn't participate. I had to get a regular loan every 3 months, whereupon they would roll over the previous loan (charging interest and adding the whole thing to the principal) and give me enough for the next 3 months. Two and a half years later, it was converted to an installment loan at 17.5% interest! You don't even want to know how long that took to pay off.

The amount of money we've paid into the system is outrageous, stolen by Congress, used for Medicaid people who paid nothing into the system. I resent the hell out of that.

I make them. Usually 4 eggs at a time to have enough to mix up the yolks.

I sleep in sleeveless tops year 'round with the ceiling fan on. Right now, I have a floor fan also on, aimed so that it ricochets off the wall instead of hitting me directly. I'll wear leggings or lounge pants when it's cooler.

Pearl is a water-loving cat. She will stand with her front legs in the water bowl and lick water off her paws, THEN flicks her paws and water on the wall. We might have to put up plastic to save the wall. Outside, she loves the fountain and will sit on the top rock in the water. Her mama was a white barn cat and she's pure white, too, but has some Siamese features, and her cousin, Wren, is Siamese, but hates water, so I'm not sure why she loves water so much.
