I am speaking for myself now, but I worked hard and did extra courses to get where I am today and there is no way I am going to step back just to let others shine. If they want to shine, step up and show you can do better than me. Then I'll step back (or resign). I am sure Maddie could 'step back' if she asked Kelli not be considered as point or group leader. But...that would be very hard for anyone. Once you have trained to be a leader and have been a leader, it is hard to not be a leader especially when in exactly the same group/department. It is bound to lead to conflicts with the new leaders or make for one very unhappy previous leader as it feels all wrong. Moreover, stepping back and essentially asking to be demoted, does not make you look good and professional in the eyes of your bosses or co-workers.

You definitely have a point here. There have been a few woc who actually had very prominent positions over the years. Nicole Hamilton, who was point, Jaycee and Jenna in the triangle and wasn’t Khalyn in the diamond? Jenna would have been point of course, if only... And they pulled really hard for Malena and Amy, though that cut was one of the most brutal if you ask me. so I don’t believe woc are treated harsher or held to a different standard. But I do wonder why so few from prelims make it to camp...

My original post, to which you answered the above, actually referred to Sydney☺️

Robyn Brown: She wanted the family, but got stuck with the man.
LilyD replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
So, I have just rewatched quite a few episodes of this season and the one before that (Can’t believe I am admitting this to you guys!!) But the following struck me today in the “Robyn cannot find a suitable house story line”: Kody said that they cannot find a suitable house for such a large family: They need six bedrooms and most rentals have only 4!! Huh? Since when is this a prerequisite for the Brown family?? Janelle had 4 bedrooms in Lehi and poor Christine only 3. He didn’t give a damn about it then. Oh and didn’t her LV house have “only” five? B&A can share as the big sisters, Sol and Ari could share for the time being (esp if it is a temporary rental) So four could work. Oh wait...Ari still sleeps in the Master with mummy. In short, there was no need for the million dollar mansion! -
Snark Should Be Multiplied, Not Divided: General Show Discussion
LilyD replied to sweet201's topic in Sister Wives
Ehm... this is a family that has gone bankrupt on several occasions, that sold quite a few houses at a loss (or a minimal profit at best). A family that spend an outrageous amount on way too expensive rentals, way too expensive homes (Robyn) or worthless land (Coyote Pass) and I haven’t even discussed other aspects of their lifestyle and actions such as destroying a chance for scholarships (Gabe) Besides, they have admitted several times that money is a big issue... They cannot even take care of the basic financial needs for a family, let alone make any provisions for their kids’ future. So, I’m pretty sure there’s nothing for the kids....(well, maybe a lot of debts)- 1.6k replies

Guess it pretty much sums up the biggest issue with the internet: What is true and what is fake. Anyone can post ‘breaking news’ and claim it’s true. Generally, I feel a lot of posters out here are pretty careful; carefully checking facts and stating they’re not 100% sure or speculating. Besides, I found that quite a few things posted on primetimer were proved to be right later on!

Fashion-wise it would be fine. However, if this particular banquet comes with a dress code (and I suspect it does) then she probably missed the mark. Those are generally quite conservative, meaning a dress for women. If you don’t stick to it, you stand out and will stand out like a sore thumb, no matter how gorgeous you look. In the military, you get sent home to change if your dress, suit or uniform isn’t conform the code. (Heck, I remember one occasion where they measured the length of a dress if it looked to short!) Dress codes are very specific

Ok For those among us who believe that the white DCC-shorts are too short; They are actually quite modest compared to this...The outfit above is downright ridiculous and tasteless! For the girls it must be quite humiliating to have your ‘cheeks’ exposed like this!

I really struggle to see who is who in that Thunderstruck video... is that Gina at point? Can anyone put names on the dancers please? The first picture of the banquet on this page (The one with Maddie in the middle): Their legs (and particularly those knees!)look horrible! As if they are badly swollen/injured. It may just be caused by their favorite pose with a bended leg or the lack of tights and nothing else, in which case I’d recommend different poses and definitely tights!

Thought I should combine my answer with Twopper's: We're talking about some pretty significant things in the lives of any teenager (school, college, future plans, sports, achievements, girlfriends.) Children want their parents' approval and interest in those things. Kody-knows-nothing...Nor does he seem to care that much. He sometimes even struggles with his name! Now, with a dead relationship I do not necessarily mean that they are not on speaking terms. Kody is his dad, so I'm sure there is something somewhere. You can talk (a little) and give each other a hug but that doesn't say anything about the relationship. I firmly believe that this father-son relationship is seriously damaged and possibly beyond repair, which is why I called it dead...
-
Ah now it makes sense! Thanks for explaining it.
-
Oh yes, which isn't of much help if your dad is Kody Brown... Please remember Gabe here, who had a fantastic school career and was close to (or actually got?) a scholarship in Vegas?? That boy had everything sorted till dad came along. Gabe's subsequent revolt and Kody not getting that is probably what cooled killed that relationship completely.

Pondering on your thoughts here... Do I mind Jenn being fairly conservative? Not really as long as she doesn't use it to brainwash young girls. In a way, I actually quite like the conservative but sexy dcc mix. I love the very conservative Cougarettes but hate their tracksuits. And I can easily see the DCC move towards Hooters-sexy with a wrong director (Wasn't it Jerry Jones himself who once discussed 2-piece swimwear or something to dance in? or that beer commercial?) Oh and puzzled about your closing remark? How do we make DCC more female?
-
Don't worry, Kelli will make her a one-and-done... Yes please! Has that story about her "dating' that Cowboys Player ever been confirmed? I hate to say it but she has that look in her eyes... I didn't know either she all but vanished from the DCC stage??
-
I'd say Kelli overstayed her welcome... It's time she moves on and let others lead the DCC onto the field for two very obvious reasons: The DCC has been doing the same for years and years, nothing new or exciting. Just a continuous recycling of the same moves and dances. Her dancers have become so much better (trained dancers/technically schooled) over the past 20 years, yet the current squad is not near as impressive and fun as the squads of, let's say 10 years ago... Bring in Jennifer if you ask me! (Yes, I am a Jenn Amburn fan...)

Agreed! It reads as an absolute nightmare with the constant switching between the wives who (seem to) talk about different topics and different periods in their lives. it’s either confusing or contradicting. Possibly both. A chronological narrative would have done justice to their story and make it easier to follow. It would definitely have made for a more pleasant read. But a chronological book would of course be ‘unfair’ to Robyn as it would leave her with only a few chapters.

That bit was soooooo bad!!! It sounded absolutely ridiculous.

This made me laugh!! The Browns would never think of this or probably see their 'fame' as a huge plus. I don't know if they do extensive checks on potential tenants over there but if they do, I can see how any landlord would raise questions about having no fixed income, multiple bankruptcies and a fairly dodgy claim to fame. (I could go on about more but won't) Now I'm thinking of it; does anyone have any ideas how much they'd probably pay each month for 2 rentals, 2 houses and the Prairie Hell-land? It must be an absolute fortune...
-
Maybe the wrong topic to post it but since the question was posted here.... I fully agree, she was a child in every aspect during her first year, especially when compared to more mature DCC's. I liked her from day 1, but I doubt she ever gave her future outside DCC much consideration. She lived and breathed DCC and may have believed that her future was somehow tied up with the Cowboys (whether as a footballer's wife, an All Star or within the DCC itself) I don't base this on facts or hearsay, just a gut feeling. Morgan Simianer (from Cheer) reminded me of Jenna's situation when she opted for an extra year at Navarro, despite it being a 2-year program. She said she wasn't ready to let go and had nothing lined up if I remember correctly. Sounds a lot like Jenna...

I don’t really like Mariah either but really feel the need to jump to her defence because I have a mother who reacts exactly like Meri! A mum who screws up, then plays victim and demands you forgive and forget and insists upon you being the loving daughter who is her best friend. Well, it doesn’t work like that. For all Mariah’s faults, it was Meri who did near irreparable damage to that relationship (in terms of trust and completely irresponsible behaviour) It takes a long time to repair that, if it ever happens. And even then, it will never be the same. Trust me, I know! You may forgive but you’ll never forget!

We’ve often discussed the possibility of another season, so here are my thoughts, based on the success of other reality shows: To me, it seems that your biggest requirement to be in a reality show (just one episode or an entire season) is your ability to be an absolute train wreck. So, the producers must be convinced that your life, or the process you’re in, is bound to be an epic failure. That, in itself is a 100% guarantee for success. People love other people’s misery. And that move did not go well at all. It took forever to sell those houses (for a lot less than what they needed for that dream), those marriages are heading straight for divorces, their financial situation is precarious, they’re stuck with a worthless piece of land that requires a fortune to develop and they do not seem settled and accepted in Flagstaff at all. So, bring on the new season!
-
At first I thought “What? No way! There’s absolutely no way that Madeline M is able to step up and carry a podcast. She’s a train wreck as a spokesperson.” And then I realised there’s another Madeline M... 🤭 so I take it you meant Madeline Molloy here? Maddie.... well, when I think about her, I just cannot get past all those awkward moments in MTT where she had to speak up. Most notably the scene where the four group leaders had to give feedback about their team members. She looked so nervous, nothing like a leader, and when Brennan was discussed, Kash took over and just blew her out of the window!

Exactly! That thumb is always there, whereas a pacifier is not. I still disapprove of 5-7 year-olds sucking their thumbs out shopping! All our kids had pacifiers, they stayed in bed and they got them at bedtime, never during the day. Worked fine with us. As for the age they need to come off: that depends on circumstances. My oldest was just over 4 when we stopped using it. We wanted to do it around 3 but an unexpected move and new jobs caused a very stressful time for us as a family. It took us all a while to adjust and settle in, which is when we said goodbye to ‘ciffie’ So no, I don’t feel guilty for allowing it a little longer, because of the circumstances😉

All Past Seasons of the Late Lamented Show
LilyD replied to ByTor's topic in Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making The Team
Ok, I’ll admit, you got me confused here. Maddie; absolutely! I would kill to have that body but yes, she got pretty soft especially around her waist. As for Jenna: Agreed, the teeny tiny little girl in her rookie year became a woman. That’s what I noticed too, but big enough to be on weight warning?? I didn’t see it then and don’t see it now. If I remember correctly, there was a picture of Jenna with a friend in a pool which was shown here on the forum. Some of us actually commented that she looked better here and post-DCC with a few extra pounds and some feminine curves... -
Maybe I'm terribly wrong with my observations here but it seems to me that the group of people who show up for prelims are quite diverse. They just do not seem to make it to training camp... Now is it the barriers that stop qualified dancers or is it because for years, the organisation could not see past the Texas blonde, blue-eyed girls?? As for my thoughts on removing barriers: The biggest barrier in my opinion is the still pretty meagre pay in exchange for a disproportionally big amount of your time which severely limits you in professional job opportunities. Over the years, we have seen many girls who tried to juggle fulltime jobs with training camp. Think of missed extra dance classes during the day or no time to rehearse what was taught they day before because of work. And most failed to make the team. So unless you have rich parents, a wealthy sponsor or husband or won the lottery, you are simply not going to make it....
