  1. This show better not harm Coach Beard. That would destroy me (as would Keeley and Roy breaking up, so back the f*** off slutty teacher) Roy Kent continues to be one of the best characters on TV. I love him. I also would never have predicted how much I would love Jamie Tartt. I am a no on Sam and Rebecca. That cannot end well.
  2. I wish Alex would stop trying to make her daughter a thing. She may be the culinary genius that Alex claims she is but she has the personality of a jellyfish and absolutely no screen presence. She seems like a nice kid, but I don’t want her in my TV.
  3. You meet Martin Short's wife in a flashback and she is African-American I'm loving this show so far and not trying to think to deeply about it plot holes (like no one remembering Tim as a kid). However, one of my brothers does live in Manhattan in one of these type of buildings - he was living there 10 years before finding out through an article in a magazine that a pretty big celebrity lives in his building. People do tend to be fairly insular in those places
  4. Watch the show "On How to Become a God in Central Florida" It is literally about the destructiveness of MLMs
  5. It just occurred to me. Higgins - I think they are going to have Higgins die. That’s why they have showed so much of his happy home life these past couple of episodes. I hop nt, because I love this show and the perfect balance of character that they have
  6. I always thought Emily would have been happier with a houseful of children and she and Lorelai would not have had such a contentious relationship. I wish they had had a scene where Emily talked about why the Gilmores only had one child. She could have had a series of miscarriages or lost a child to SIDs or something that showed a bit of vulnerability. Something that Lorelai may not have known and but would help her understand her mother. I think that the Palladinos missed so many opportunities to make Emily a more rounded character - it is a testament to Kelly Bishop's skills that she was able to bring so much nuance to the part.
  7. Could it be that Sheldon doesn't have the emotional capacity to deal with his father's death and constructed the story about him not being a good father to prevent himself from fully feeling the grief from such a loss? As we can see, it would be the only big loss he had in his life (his MeeMaw is still alive in BBT - but most definitely not the delightful Annie Potts!)
  8. I am the furthest thing from a germaphobe, and I grew up playing in creeks, as did my kids....however, that is not clean creek water - that is disgusting. This gave me anxiety (especially as they went though the culvert) and I want to scrub every one of them with strong antibacterial soap. I can't even imagine how uncomfortable that drive home in cold, wet, dirty clothes was. One of the NotNuries was still wearing a denim vest, Timbits had a leather belt, and one of the little girls was in tights? WTF is wrong with this woman??
  9. How much do you think his siblings hate Josh? I mean, full on hate him? Not only because what he did (both now and in the past) are so far beyond the bounds. civilized society , but both of their show cancellations are 100% completely due to him and his actions. They may preach forgiveness and publicly proclaim it, but there has to be genuine loathing behind the scenes.
  10. Nooooo...that gorgeous antique needed nothing more than a good wipedown with dark Old English, Her "refurbishing" looks like a child fingerpainted it. That is some of the worst garden dirt I have ever seen. It really needed to be tilled and topsoil/fertilizer added. Literally one afternoon of work would have made a huge difference. Those plants are beyond stressed and will not produce anything. She really does half-ass everything doesn't she?
  11. Uuumm, Eastern Orthodoxy and the Roman Catholic Church split in 1054, so the Roman Catholic Church was not the only game in town after that point However, even among the Protestant faiths, these evangelicals and Baptists are fairly new. Back to the topic at hand - I don't understand what the end game is for these people to have so many unemployable adults. There is no pride in watching their children become independent and successful
  12. She talks to Janessa like she is a puppy. Why on earth is that child wearing a confirmation dress. Why can't these children ever have appropriate and well-fitting clothing? They look always look so unkempt. That "garden" is the most ridiculous and ugly thing I have ever seen. She does not have an eye for...well, anything. She half-asses everything - she can't even be bothered to trench the border in correctly. Notice everything is "my" and "mine" - my fish tank, my garden. Never our. Also, one of my sons is a plumber. Since they put those extra bathrooms in without any permits or inspections, they are in for a world of hurt when their septic tank gets overburdened unless they get it cleaned out every 4-6 months (usually it is every 18-24 months, but that tank was intended for a 2 bedroom house - 4 people, not 14 or 15. He's surprised that their leach field has not gotten overwhelmed yet too.
  13. I may be in the minority, but I like Austin and don't think he is cruel and controlling. I think he has no use for most of the Duggars and their laziness and just does not like being on TV, but sees it as way to make money. He has a dry sarcasm that I find funny and probably goes over most of his in-law's heads. He and Joy seem like they genuinely like one another. He also seems to be a loving, affectionate, and involved dad. He is like so many of the simple, hardworking blue-collar men I know. I think they will be okay if the show ends - they have his construction business and the family camp and will live just fine outside of the limelight. I will never understand why JB didn't get all of his kids (boys) into the trades. They could have had a good family construction business going.
  14. It's in her lap. Not only is she most likely vaccinated, but she probably only took it off for the photo ETA: Is that Jackson with him? The younger Duggar boys are a blur to me
  15. Unfortunately, not only was he a minor, but he was never even arrested, let alone tried and convicted, for what he did in his teens. Ditto the Ashley Madison thing - it's skeevy but it was not illegal. If anything good comes of this, maybe the Feds were able to trace where these images came from and maybe take down a whole ring of these scumbags.
  16. I will say this for the Bates - they put long, personal notes on the birthday posts for each of their kids and grandkids. They actually seem to see them as individual people. As for Jillybean...good gravy, I know that we have said it before, but what the actual F is wrong with that woman? Why do the little girls always ALWAYS ALWAYS look like rag pickers and the older girls look like 70s pageant queens? I can't get over how bad she is at EVERYTHING
  17. Poor girl can't even get an ultrasound without her mother insisting it being livestreamed to her. Her lack of social media tells us that she and Nathan want a quiet, private life, but Jill still feels the need to share every moment. I always ask my kids (as a courtesy) before posting photos of my grandkids on social media
  18. That pool looks really tiny for swimming laps...and if they are paying for a gym membership, I can't believe they weren't admonished for wearing street clothes in the pool. I know that our gym has very strict rules about bathing caps, makeup, and clothing
  19. So much to love about this episode, but I was distracted by Mart Steenburgen's horrible haircut. It seems even worse than last season. She is a beautiful woman, who looks great with soft, fluffy hair. The haircut they have her in does not look good on anyone over the age of 5.
  20. I have a large family (although not quite this large) and we can be loud and overwhelming and regularly number 30-40 people at holidays. I love the chaos of the holidays together, so this isn't awful to me (although I wish we had this space AND those kitchens...of course our meals are huge, varied, and homemade...none of that processed crap) I missed that this year...it's not the same on Zoom. I actually love how the cousins really seem to love each other and were so excited to see each other. My kids were, and still are, super close to their cousins and we are now seeing that among their kids too. I also like how the one gift per person allows them to give really nice gifts instead of a bunch of crap. Was that also a huge projector TV we glimpsed at the end? Of course Michelle is wearing an apron but not actually doing anything but making out with JimBob. Also, they give each grandkid a paper bag full of dollar store crap and probably don't buy anything for their younger kids. You also know that Jana did all of the cooking and cleaning and probably chopped down and decorated that enormous tree. I also never realized how tiny Josie is - Spurgeon is only a head shorter than her. I imagine Izzy is close to her height. All of the brothers other than Josh are looking pretty fit. He looks enormous. It must gall him that John David seems to be the brother they look to as the eldest now. I'll never understand why he didn't send each of the boys to get licensed in a trade and do proper construction/renovation.
  21. Where do Nurie and Nathan stay when they visit the barndo? There are only 3 bedrooms and Tim has the RV. Do they have to sleep separately with the boys and girls?
  22. So we are expected to believe that Nurie, a married woman, rather than getting her own social media, logs into her mother's social media to post hosannas about the glory that is Jill?
