  1. So, the "kids" often write paeans to the glory that is Jill and how she is the mother of all mothers and the most wonderful person to ever grace the planet with her presence...have "they" ever written anything praising David? Jill writes plenty about her "hardworking" "hunk" but I can't remember anything from the "kids" (I know, I know, the "kids" and Jill are one and the same person).
  2. You forgot to add being joyfully available to her husband, bugging Nurie and Nathan, and ugly decor to place
  3. WTF are these kids wearing??? And the boys are wearing what looks like random pieces of white satin ribbon. I never thought that what they currently wear would look better
  4. So it looks like Jill and at least one of the other two girls ordered quiche and salad and Nurie ordered a huge sandwich sandwich and fries...GO NURIE! (I can't tell what the fourth meal it - it may be a sandwich and fries too...if so, maybe Nurie has led the revolution of eating whatever the hell you want!)
  5. So that oven roasted lobster that David was shoveling into his maw is flambeed with brandy...so alcohol is okay now?
  6. Late to the game (and I haven't read all of the comments yet), but I really wish that they had had them do cakes "inspired" by the person rather than a carved bust. I think we would have seen much more interesting and creative cakes that way
  7. SO sad that a man in his early 20s is still required to participate in activities for an 8 year old
  8. What is the room through the door behind the dining room table? I don't recall seeing any rooms with books. Maybe that is the boys' room?
  9. I really can’t figure out the floor plan of this house with all of the changes they made. I assume they are in the print shop, but why are parts of it are decorated like a living room? I wish someone with better spatial awareness would draw it up. Also, when even my tin ear can hear that your singing is off, it has to be really, really bad.
  10. I just can't with these people and their complete inability to cook a decent meal. I've been the stay at home mom with a lot of kids and a limited income, and I managed to feed my family fresh, nutritious, appetizing food. It can be done. In many cases, it is cheaper to cook from scratch. They also have all of the resources of the internet to help them learn and yet none of them can cook worth a damn. Not to mention, I would be absolutely appalled to serve this slop (and so little of it) to company. My grandparents had very little, but there was always an abundance of food (I still dream of my grandmother's homemade noodles - they were so light that they evaporated in your mouth - I use her recipe, but they never come out the same) Do they have no pride? I'm pretty sure that those "cheese" containers are the free dipping sauces that come with the Little Caesars pizza that they seem to eat constantly. Making a cheese sauce is literally one of the easiest recipes in the world - it's one of the first things my kids learned to make - and it only takes a few minutes. In fact, it probably takes longer to open up all of those "cheese" containers than to make the sauce And veggies from a can? They live in a rural area of Ohio where there are farm stands and farmers markets everywhere! Didn't she proudly show us a garden? That pork roast would barely feed a family of 4, let alone 21 people. She posted all of this proudly, like we would all be jealous of their bounty. I bet their company stopped for food on the way home, because there is no way they weren't all still hungry.
  11. Good lord, the Duggar girls need to teach the Rodriguii how to properly thrift. You don’t just grab something just because it’s cheap. These little girls always look like rag pickers. i am happy that Nurie seems to be thriving. I would love if she could have just Kaylee, Renee, and Tessie come to visit. Of course, Mama wouldn’t even let one of them be Nurie’s Maid of Honor, so there is no way she would let them visit without her
  12. I feel like Anna got pressured into using a letter themes - how pissed she must be that none of the others have boxed themselves into this.
  13. Not only does the menu from that restaurant look AMAZING, but the majority of it would be unfamiliar to Nurie. Good for her for branching out and hopefully trying some "exotic" flavors. I hope this inspires her to properly learn to cook--especially now when some of the best culinary schools are offering free classes online
  14. That she knows... Like the kid in Kindergarten Cop who details all the people he knows that are better than Arnold Schwarznegger "I don't know that many people"
  15. I sometimes pop over to Marjorie's instagram - she has really blossomed and thrived and is living her best life. College, two books, travel, sports. It's too bad that she and Josiah did not work out because she would have challenged him and made him push his boundaries. It makes me sad to see what he has become...I put the blame firmly on JB and Josh. Josh's sins have destroyed all opportunities for his younger brothers to break out and get away from the family (like he and Anna did to DC). Not only will none of the Christian Corporations want an association with the Duggar name, but he is now the cautionary tale that justifies the iron control the parents have on their kids. (we jokingly refer to my oldest brother as the E.D. (empire destroyer) because many an empire has been brought down by the idiot eldest son - this applies to Josh too) All of these boys should have gone to trade school and gained a skill - the lack of drive is appalling. I actually feel sorry for Lauren - when she first came on the scene, she seemed very much of the spunky Marjorie mold, but marriage has destroyed all of her verve too.
  16. MMMMM... cucumber, onions, salt, vinegar, lots of black pepper, and a 1/2 tsp of sugar is one of our favorite summer side dishes. It only gets better over a couple of days. With a slice of pumpernickel bread, with butter and farmer cheese, and it is a complete meal for me! It drives me crazy that no one teaches these women how to properly cook a healthy meal for a crowd. It makes me happy to see Jessa, Jinger, and Jill actually trying to branch out a bit. I have to give credit to them for also introducing their children to different foods early. I think Jill was the most damaged by Josh and is also an empath, so she feels things a little more deeply. I think she also had a hard time processing why something bad happened to her when she did everything right according to her parents' rules. I think Jessa is able to compartmentalize more and shrug things off. It doesn't make either one better or worse (I really don't get the Jessa hate - maybe because I tend to be pragmatic and unemotional to outsiders, which can come across as cold...but I deeply adore my family and am very affectionate in private!)
  17. That is a small stock pot - it's smaller than the burner and look at in comparison to knobs...it's maybe 8 quarts. That sounds like a lot but is not nearly enough to feed 14 people. Hell, my boys would eat that much alone, plus a loaf of homemade bread. It looks like she used water instead of beef stock (ground beef and cabbage will not make much of a broth). Cabbage soup should also have tomato paste or something to punch up the flavor and give it some body. This is literally the cabbage water people would eat during the Depression.
  18. Jill wrote the word "Jilly" herself - the handwriting looks different and how would anyone know that he meant her? or Jill wrote the whole thing herself and bought herself the presents. (no grown man dots is "i" with circles...in fact no young boy does that either. Boys don't experiment with their handwriting and try those cutesy tricks with it...well, no grown woman does wther. Most of us leave that aside in the 4th or 5th grade) or Both - she just wrote the Jilly in later She is jealous of Nathan and Nurie. Nathan is giving Nurie attention, gifts, and praise (they are newlyweds - that is normal and expected!). She has also gone online and has read about how sweet Nathan has been to Nurie and how happy they look. She has also read the criticisms of Shrek and his lack of a paying job and his seeming indifference to her. Jill cannot stand anyone getting more attention and praise than her. SHE must be the most loved. SHE must have the best husband. SHE must have the best marriage. She is always trying to convince the rest of us how wonderful her husband is, how sexy and desirable, and how perfect their relationship is and how much she is loved by her husband and children. Hey lady, we're not the ones that need convincing - you are!
  19. Add me to those who cannot stand even a hint of patchouli Why can't Jill just leave them alone for a hot minute? Let the poor girl breathe and maybe focus on the kids you still have at home. You know that she is bombarding them with nonstop texts and calls and begging for photos. $10 says that they entire grifting stinkbus loads up to go to FL within 2 weeks (and Jill will claim that Nurie and Nathan begged them to come visit). I really want Nurie to find nice men from FL for Kaylee and Renee, so that they can all get away. I'm also curious how Nurie will look with her eyebrows grown in to a more natural shape.
  20. Maybe they did read book about mammals that said man is a type of mammal (meaning mankind) and he took it to think only men are mammals...that's the only way I can get there. I hope so, since it would mean they are reading him a science book!
  21. I actually think she comes across as sweet and genuine in this video. I like this new, more confident Joy and think that she has really come into her own. Austin has long been my favorite of the sons-in-law because he always seems to be mentally rolling his eyes at them and clearly does not like being on camera. I feel like he can be pretty snarky and it probably goes over the heads of most of the Duggars. He also seems to love that his wife is a bit of a "tomboy" and encourages that side of her.
  22. Has anyone else noted that pretty much the only food we ever see in front of these kids is pizza or cupcakes/donuts? Just something odd that I noticed
  23. Those cheap elastics that she uses in the little girls' hair are probably contributing to their thin hair - it is impossible to remove those without breaking off and pulling out hair. Coated hair bands are not that expensive and much gentler on hair.
