Oh, THIS.

My "Upstairs at Eric's" album had the sticker covering up "Yazoo" with "Yaz". Damn, wish i still had that (ebay). Loved the episode, but the Virgo (and former pot smoker) in me just cannot fathom why all of these otherwise detail-oriented shows have people holding joints the way they'd hold a cigarette. I have never in my life seen a person smoke a joint that way.

I agree with you re Yo, but as far as doctors go I'd say they can't have it both ways. They often behave as if they do know everything, and many people are afraid or intimidated and don't question diagnoses or treatment. If the word patient was replaced by "client", maybe the dynamic would change. Sorry to go OT, but this is a pet peeve of mine. Carry on!

S05.E14: Surprise!
panthergirl13 replied to zoeysmom's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
I kept trying to think of who they end up looking like, and it's Madame (of "Wayland and..."). -
Watching Yo deal with Lyme makes me nuts, because I was diagnosed in 2009 and treated with oral antibiotics (3 different ones over a 6 month period) and didn't get better. Then the "Lyme Doctor" put me on IV Rocephin but didn't protect my gallbladder, so I wound up in the ER with a gallbladder attack and had a procedure called ERCP to clear the bile. I had complications from that (pancreatitis and a blood infection) that nearly killed me and I was in the hospital for nearly a month. (I had two babies with no drugs, and that was nothing compared to pancreatitis. I shit you not.) BTW, ERCP is what just killed two people at UCLA Medical Center. Fast forward to 2014 when I started having weird motor symptoms again but after multiple tests and finally a DATscan (special brain scan at Columbia Presbyterian in NYC) it turns out I have Parkinson's, and never actually had Lyme at all. The motor symptoms I had back then were just the very early signs of PD. That's a long way of saying that one would hope that someone with Yo's resources would be ruling out all of the other possible neurological illnesses she could have. My PD doctor at Columbia says the fact that I didn't respond to 3 different oral abx should have clued someone into the fact that it might not actually be Lyme.

S05.E14: Surprise!
panthergirl13 replied to zoeysmom's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
OK, I am just now watching this week's episode, so I haven't read through all 14 pages of comments so please excuse me if someone else has said this already but HOLY FUCK, PEOPLE... what have these women done to their faces??? Kyle looks like a completely different person in these scenes with Kim in the car. Brandi's Sober House friend appears to have had tangerines implanted in her face (with the color leaking through). I am honestly baffled as to how anyone can think this is attractive. -
OK, I've read through everyone's comments and I think I'm the only person who interpreted Clark's response to Martha's proposal about the foster kid as "Hm....now THERE'S a way to recruit a young person who is not my real child, who has no better prospects in life and no parents who will mourn him/her if things go sour..." Too dark?

S04.E13: 4 Seasons In One Finale
panthergirl13 replied to yeswedo's topic in Project Runway All Stars
I posted this during the live chat last night, but what drove me insane was the horrible camera work during the runway show. I mean seriously... who gives a shit about the reaction shots of the judges, or worse yet...the audience?? I wanted to see the clothes, from all angles and up close. I am not impressed by the dumb strobe effects and I almost had a Mary-Hart-induced seizure as a result. As far what the designers were able to send down the runway ... Well, in the printing business we used to tell clients: "Good, fast, cheap: pick two". I'd say that applies here as well. What a shame.- 148 replies

Once again, the camera work SUCKED. I don't care about audience or judges' reaction shots, I'm here to see the fucking clothes. And cut it out with the cheesy FX too. Sooooo annoying. I don't know if they are afraid we will see the crappy construction if they show the stuff up close or what, but how about just letting us see each piece in its entirety? I'm cranky now.

The previews are amazing. This episode was pretty boring I thought, and predictable with the bridezilla stuff. I hated the dress (skanky) and thought it was really unflattering on her too. Wait, the bargain wedding planner wasn't exceptional?? Quelle surprise!

Nothing exudes "class, elegance and pizzazz" like a shiny white jacket with the groom's name on the collar. Oh, FL Tom... you're a nutcase.

Re Alyssa Milano's getup this week, well as someone who has been enormously pregnant and wore form fitting jumpsuits (IT WAS THE 80s), I couldn't with that whiteness. All I saw was a giant boob with a 'nipple', and once I did I couldn't unsee it.

Yep, and that's the difference between being a "commercial artist" as opposed to a "fine artist". It's a way for talented people to make a living but the downside is that you are often realizing another person's vision, or having your work torn apart based on the whim of a client ("make the logo bigger"). Helen should know that by now.

S03.E11: I'm Not That Good At Goodbye

Thanks... and I agree. Although I also thought it was a really shitty (and probably also inaccurate) thing to say. While the smoking was a stupid idea for someone who has such an extensive cancer history in the family, the genetics certainly played a role. And to bring this topic back to the show, telling a person "well, you did this to yourself asshole" certainly doesn't change anything and DEFINITELY doesn't help them cope with the challenges to come. Feels like Deacon is being punished for his alcoholism which is a cheap shot, writers. -

I went with my ex-husband to get his lung cancer diagnosis. The oncologist delivered the very bad news (inoperable, 10 months at best... particularly devastating as we had an 8 year old son at the time). My ex started to say that his mother died of ovarian cancer, his uncle of bladder cancer...at which point the doctor held up his hand and said "This doesn't have anything to do with you mother, your uncle or anyone else in your family. Smoke for 25 years? You'll wind up sitting in my office." Not exactly 'sugar coating'. ETA that he was exactly right... dead in 10 months. -

The makeup and lighting of Connie Britton was so harsh and unflattering in previous episodes (particularly the Christmas one with Luke). But this week, she looked incredible in that scene at Deacon's. She looked SO young ... I thought, "dayum girl...Tammi Taylor has come a callin'." -
S14.E06: Who Stole My Phone?

OMG THANK YOU. I came here to say this exact thing. It drove me nuts the whole fucking episode. And when Trump kept referring to La Cucaracha as a jingle, it made me wonder if Raid hadn't used it in a commercial at some point. Have to check The Google on that one. Not to defend Eye-On, but I think what he couldn't seem to verbalize was the intention to use that tune as the inspiration for the jingle...the way Sesame Street takes a song and tweaks the melody just enough so you know what it's supposed to be, but doesn't have copyright implications. It was still a stupid inspiration, but I think that's what he was getting at. -
OK, show of hands: who here believes that anyone (who isn't a middle school student) just "makes out" with someone while drunk in Vegas?
-
OK, so I wasn't the only confused person here. Thanks for this. And I'm Gone with the Wind Fabulous!!!
-
Maybe it was just me, but it was not apparent that the 'confession' was about a 2nd girl Schwartz made out with. It sounded like the same confession he made outside of Sur, but then someone mentioned '2 girls'. Anyway when this show is able to confuse me I get a little concerned. Katie looks completely different on WWHL. I mean COMPLETELY. And although she and Schwartz claim to still be together, her body language says "If I could be sitting in New Jersey right now, I would be." #notbuyingit

Brandi Glanville: Hateful Housewife

I could have written this myself. It has led me to believe she's playing a character on ONE of these two shows, because the persona is completely different. -
S14.E05: It's Like A Booze Cruise With Knowledge

THIS. I taught my kids to recognize sexism by reversing the genders and seeing if the result seems ridiculous. So let's put male servers in speedos and call the place "Peckers" (you know, with a woodpecker as the mascot! It's just a bird! It's fun!). Hot dog, anyone? When they were talking in the boardroom about how the concept of Hooters could be a mistake if "wives" were there, I wanted to throw up. Really? Insecure wives are the only people who would be turned off by this? Ok... -

I agree... especially vs Trump, the "orange-a-tan". I'm convinced he and Boehner are sharing the same bottle of Q-T. (that's a reference for the old folks) -
Ugh, this episode was THE WORST! (but in the spirit of full disclosure, MY motto is "always a bride, never a bridesmaid" so what do I know). Can we talk about the real tragedy of the night? Alyssa introducing Cat Deeley of "So You Think You Could Dance". (I guess this show's budget is so tiny they can't even afford retakes? Or do they just say "Ah, fuck it!" and keep going?). Hey Alyssa, you used to be on that show "Whom's the Boss", right?

In other news, I've never been able to figure out the words to "Forever Young", so it sounds like something about a "banana juice box" to me.
