I agree with 99% of what you wrote here (I'm just blah about Piper) but ESPECIALLY your comment about Stella's first speech and Penn's hot boyfriend (although him being attracted to her seemed more like a dream sequence). Some nitpicks: - I cannot stand Morello's "New York" accent. It irritates me the same way Livia Soprano's accent did. There is nothing NY or NJ about those accents. - It's always obvious when people from California write shows that are set on the East Coast, because they include dialogue about Mexicans and use terms like 'wetback'. They clearly hired some Puerto Rican actresses... couldn't one of THEM say "Um, Jenji? The Mexican thing? It's not a thing here." - Litchfield is in Connecticut, not upstate New York. It shows how uneven this season was for me that I was so annoyed by those things. OH and that lake scene... I cannot stand when so much time is wasted during a season finale.

Hahaha that's exactly what I thought of!

Haha... I said "Damn, girl! It would take me an hour to get that thing open!"

Nigel looks like he's had his eyes done or something, no? -
I watched Outlander (ugh) and then this (yay) but really needed a palate cleanser before going to sleep. Veep. ;)

I'll just be watching John Oliver's Last Week Tonight which is absolutely fantastic. I will miss the nightly JS fix, for sure, but i have zero interest in Trevor Noah. (I wish it were something Brian Williams would come out of forced retirement to do... he'd be funny and he wouldn't give a shit at this point. But probably way more work than he's into right now.)

Ha! I made that exact comment to my daughter when the episode ended! Master Aemon will be reincarnated as Michael Bolton. (seriously, go look at his face again) Even the name would work in the GoT universe.

I'd rather watch this toenail fungus commercial than Rodney's highlight reel. -

I'd rather stick needles in my eyes than spend 39 MINUTES with Dan or Shirin (let alone Dan AND Shirin). -

Oh, so that little postscript was supposed to redeem Rodney? Because he "came on this show as an exscape?". -

Count me amongst the horrible people! I tell myself that it must be because they are tired and hungry and stressed, but holy shit... kids go to summer camp longer than these people are away from home. -
S03.E22: Before You Go Make Sure You Know

Yes! That was the other big distraction. JJ's acting was even more impressive as he tried desperately to protect what was probably a Cabbage Patch Doll. -

Zzzzzzzzzz. I was so distracted by those shiny pantyhose that Juliette was wearing during her (overly long) song. Otherwise i was mostly just bored. There's fun-soapy and there's tropey-soapy ... Hoping they'll hire some better writers next season.- 244 replies

What bothers me most at this point is that the show has just become a collection of Tired TV Tropes, start to finish. "Everyone can see they still love each other, but THEM!" "Wear this wire and no jail time for you" "We've just gotten back together and now you're gonna die!" "Paparazzi gets private vacay photos?? No way!" "Here, sign this contract with no lawyers present." "I'm your long lost dad." (times a million) Miss any?

Her Twitter feed also mentions a BBC show called "Shetlands". (as well as some cute pics of her and cast/crew from TGW): https://twitter.com/PanjabiArchie

Somehow I watched this one before seeing the last, so I was completely confused about the broken engagement. I still enjoy the show for the midwifery, but I'm not enjoying the "lesson of the week" aspect so much. I actually thought the storyline with the sick baby was going to be more about the couple's refusal to provide medical treatment (and they didn't even address that again, once they knew what was wrong with him. The child would need to be on some form of pain medication his whole life, no?). They made it more about "faith" which...well, I have zero interest in. As for the midwifery, there just isn't enough of it this season so far. And I may be in the minority here, but I find that actor who plays Dr. Turner to be playing to the back row so often that it's distracting. Most of the other performances are so understated (ok, with the exception of Freddy, but the jaunty music always warns us when that's coming up) I guess I'll go back and watch Ep 4 now!

I loved it because I'm in Rotterdam at this very minute on a pre-visit for work, before I return in June for a six month stint. I was in Amsterdam last Sunday on a cycle boat in the canals (hilarious) and will be there again on Monday for King's Day (Mardi Gras meets St. Patrick's Day except everyone is in orange... will be insane). The Netherlands is (are?) beautiful. AND it's tulip season right now...amazing. How Blair doesn't throttle Hayley is beyond me. Remember the olden days when we thought he was a condescending jerk? Now I'm convinced he's either a saint or deaf.

Unfortunately a lot of those men ended up dead. My two best friends from childhood were always a couple and got married shortly after high school. He (in retrospect) was clearly gay, but married her because he desperately wanted children. She outed him before that ever happened, but they remained living together because there was a deep love there. They just lived separate lives as roommates would do. She was shattered, but understood what had happened. Sadly he was claimed by the first wave of AIDS as were so many others we knew. Re this episode, I didn't find it odd at all that Tony would marry this woman and impregnate her. Plenty of gay men want to be fathers (and can thankfully do that now). What DID bother me was the stereotyping re the parlor, the painting and the piano. Poppycock!

Marry me.

I haven't watched this show since it went to shit, but decided to watch this episode after seeing all the hype about it. Honestly, the whole first part with Derek "saving" the accident victims was like a bad SNL skit...it was that ridiculous. Then I thought Sydney from Parenthood was going to say "I see dead people" to the ambulance driver and that would be it. Dun dun DUN!!!!!!!

The one scene in the finale that really bothered me was the 'interrogation' of John by the other cops. I fully expected them to say something to each other after he left the room, something original like "Heh heh...we got 'em where we want 'em... overconfident!" because if they didn't suspect him of killing Danny that was a very bizarre way to "break the news" that it was a murder for hire by the drug boss. And for John to even question that line of reasoning was weird too. Like Damages, it's a little heavy handed with all the mustache-twirling and that tropey final scene. But also like Damages, the performances made it utterly enjoyable in spite of its flaws.

And I don't think it was in this episode, but here's another show where people smoke joints like cigarettes. That drives me absolutely nuts. It's such a simple detail to get right...
