Week 24 - 3/4, one * Season to date - 58/119, 7*

I find myself really enjoying the tournament. I even liked the music clues, though I have no idea who the pianist is. Also had no idea for FJ. I'm usually not great with geography anyway, but definitely very little knowledge of Africa. I'd need to look at a map, even then probably I'd be wrong.

Works for me - thanks!

Thanks to Saber5050’s visual aid in the All-Stars thread, we now know that this week will have 4 FJs, as will next week, and the week after that will have 5. I propose: We use 4/4 for this week and next, and back to 5/5 for the week after. What do you all think? The alternate would be 2/2 this week, skip next week, and 3/3 for the following week. I’m happy either way.

S01.E14: The Trouble With The Curve

You mean Miles? I actually don't mind that the writers spell things out. -
Me too! There’s an early one in Goodland Kansas, but I haven’t seen it. Two FJs in a row for me this week, too. So the new contest starts tomorrow. I’m expecting it to be fun, but we’ll see.

I watched the second episode this weekend. So fascinating to see how it all came together, and how thoroughly everything was orchestrated.

S01.E14: The Trouble With The Curve

Liked the episode. Huge minor league baseball fan, so that was fun. Worried about the dad, because it sounds like he may be pushed out. Or he may be promoted to a diocesan office. And glad the coding went well! -
I have no knowledge of Victoria and Feodora' s relationship, but I wouldn't mind a bit of historically inaccurate comeuppance for Feodora. She's such a villain, she needs a mustache to twirl. The Duke finally put two and two together; I fear for the Duchess and Joseph. Love the costumes, both at the ball and in everyday life.

When I was in grade school, my grandparents spent winters in Weslaco, Texas. When I was in 5th grade, we drove down (from Kansas) to visit them, and we went to the market in Matamoros, crossing at Brownsville into Mexico. But I didn't think of Brownsville as the answer to the question.

Big surprise, right? Doesn't anyone know how to write comedy for a strong caring mother? Among Jessica, Bev on The Goldbergs, and Maya on Speechless, I sometimes think the writers on the various shows are vying for "most cringeworthy of the week." They all have their moments, but those moments are small and rare.

I was a little confused about Danny and the kid who tried to stab him. Was the mother really that clueless that her dear little boy was committing a criminal act when Danny shot him? Really sad for the other mother, though, who felt she had to kill her son to prevent him from continuing in the criminal life. Also, liked Jenko's and Jamie's interaction in the station. Jamie, er Sarge.

Week 23 - 0/5, no * Season to date - 55/115, 6* Guess I'm sitting in the Dunce Cap corner for the week. On the plus side, I made baked doughnuts yesterday, and they were so good! I'll toss a virtual one your way if you like doughnuts, Saber! The ones I made don't have sprinkles, though.

I don’t remember any other TS that I knew, but I knew the TripAdvisor owl. I’ve been a regular contributor on their Forums since 2005. Maybe they need a more memorable mascot.

Congratulations! So excited for you!

I knew it referred to Cats, but I couldn't think of the author to save my life. I've read about the shipwreck, Bermuda, etc., but at Jamestown Settlement, there's a map that shows the route of the 1607 voyage, and for personal reasons, I thought of Dominica, and I could not think of Bermuda after that.

If someone else has started a topic for this episode, I couldn't find it. Atwater was put in the middle of a dilemma: out himself as undercover and completely blow the investigation, or keep undercover and risk his and his perp's lives. I didn't get why he basically lied for the patrol cop, and then went to beat him up. I understand the frustration and anger, as much as I am able, though.

Another less than stellar week for me! Week 22 - 1/5, no * Season to date - 55/110, 6*

Read the intro to 4.0. I think it's on the home page. There are instructions for changing the format that includes bigger fonts. Only two days but I missed PTV. Did not have a good J! week though I did get several of the TS s.

I've even been to the Pony Express Station in Marysville, Kansas, and I didn't think of it. Sad no one knew Katey Sagal or Juliette Gordon Lowe.

Oh, yes, the lace would be quite difficult! It would take both talent and skill, I'd think.

I worked at a gift shop here in Virginia. We were supposed to not accept foreign coins, usually Canadian, but every once in a while what looked like a penny or dime would slip through. I'm sure if we were busy, sometimes the coin would be given out with change. Not accepting them had something to do with the bank deposit - the bank didn't want them either.

I didn't realize that was the same actor! I've enjoyed her work here. I despised Palmerston when the character was first introduced, but liked him a little bit better this episode. I don't mind the historical inaccuracies too much. Since I don't know much about Victoria and her life, it's been interesting to look up and find out a bit more when questions have arisen, and learned more about how it really was.

My grandmother could do that! She was very talented. I remember one time my brother and I unexpectedly stayed overnight at her house, and she whipped up some pajamas for us, no pattern or anything!

I’ve just watched the first episode, and found it very interesting. I need to look up other projects of Ms. Worsley, as I’m not familiar with her work. It might have been interesting to have some of the British Bake-off “star bakers” work on the wedding cake, pastries, etc. I’m looking forward to the 2nd episode!
