I didn't think Alex's interview w/Tara was that bad, but maybe she didn't want to do the exposition for the panda story? She did get to say how many consecutive years her uni had won it. Didn't like her partly shaved head. I know that's kind of a thing these days, but I just don't like it. Loved Beth's howliday pawtison party story. Wonder which show the footage was on? Yes, I knew Virginia. I've never seen Total Recall. I'm horrible with geography of Central and South America, so I had no clue.

Northanger Abbey (2007) - General Discussion
zoey1996 replied to Milz's topic in Northanger Abbey (2007)
My recording cut off before the end - Catherine was with Tilney going to the neighbors (name escapes me). Argh! What did I miss? TIA! -
I had never heard Changes before; it was lovely. Enjoyed this episode more than the previous one. I've been in weather like they were in at the St. Louis arch - no fun! Enjoyed the Kennel Club Museum; I'll have to put it on my list for "someday..." Poor Robert!

Did you mean Dutton? You're wondering if Kayce is Dutton's biological son? I thought that's been pretty well established by now, unless there's a surprise twist coming. So John has (had?) cancer. He's a tough old bird, to be riding/breaking the stallion like that - that's gotta hurt. What's Beth deal, playing with the developer, Jenkins? What's the point? Her family's name may impress some in those parts, but not all, clearly.

They abound - Cairo, Illinois; Beaufort, South Carolina; Salina, Kansas; and so many more!

Yes, I know Kansas is Home on the Range. Virginia (where I live now) has a popular song, Sweet Virginia Breeze.

Broke my heart a little that Margaret Mead was a TS. And Kit Carson in a clue!

It also helps to live in Williamsburg, VA. You learn a lot of interesting tidbits about that period of American History here. I couldn't come up with New Jersey, and I actually visited Jersey for a few days less than a year ago! Gorgeous island, by the way. Anticipating the movie, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, which will be on Netflix Aug. 10! What year was the Wicker Man movie clue? I saw the original from 1973 and didn't like it at all.

@Pallas, thanks. Wasn't the third death (actually the first) the truck driver in the beginning of the show? After Dutton took care of his horse, he checked on the truck driver, who was dead. Still not sure how that crash happened/what all was involved.

I know Kayce's brother-in-law was killed, but who else was lost? Started watching this due to the article in Parade featuring Costner and the show. So far, I'm in. I'm sure some of it sailed right over my head, but mostly I'm able to follow and find it interesting. Don't like the daughter (Beth?) and still sorting out some of the other characters. I recognized the actor who played the senator, Jill Hennessey, from Crossing Jordan.

Season 10: All Episode Talk

Molly did indicate she knew about the potato famine. She didn't realize the extent of the anti-Catholic sentiment at that point of Irish history. She was so grateful to meet the woman who knew some of the ancestors, and thrilled to meet cousins! That made the show for me. -
I had a sleep study done a number of years ago. I was monitored throughout the night, and there was a call button so if I needed anything, like to get up to go to the bathroom, I could. Turns out I have sleep apnea, waking an average of 20 times an hour. Getting the C-PAP has improved my life so much. PW, I hope they are able to help you. Re: One Day at a Time, I've seen several of the new episodes, and they're pretty good. I think the set is quite a bit different. For her "bedroom," "Grandma" (Rita Moreno) has a curtained off room. The kids are a boy and a girl, instead of the two girls Ann Romano had. It's on my list to continue to watch.

Watched the first episode. Kelly is in the mix. Lisa is just days from giving birth and wants Jack with her for the birth. Jack and Ozzy take a short trip to a SkySlide on an LA skyscraper; looked terrifying to me. Ozzy is busy with promos for his new tour, so just Jack and Kelly take Jack's kids to Legoland in the new camper van. I'll probably keep watching, but so far, with the new family dynamics, it's not nearly as interesting as the previous seasons. And knowing that Jack and Lisa split after some of the filming had been done makes it kind of weird. Public/private personas and all that. But Robert does make an appearance, so there's that!

I don't know what vocal fry is. Her voice didn't bother me at all. Also, I guess an unpopular opinion, but I find Alex's comments kind of adorable in a dorky sort of way. Every once in a while I'll cringe or roll my eyes, but that's about it. I knew Charlotte' s Web from when my daughter was young.

It's available on Netflix. We just watched the show that was taped in Greenville, South Carolina. It is so funny! Both Steve Martin and Martin Short had some hilarious bits! Mother's Day in the UK is tied to the calendar for Lent. It's called Mothering Sunday and always falls on Refreshment Sunday, which is the fourth Sunday of Lent. DD lives in the UK, and always buys my "Mum's Day" card then so she'll have one to give/send on our US Mother's Day.

Season 10: All Episode Talk

We watched Hillary Duff's episode last night. I live in Williamsburg, Virginia, so I was excited to see that portion of the show. Also liked that her mother's family, who weren't highly regarded in contemporary times, actually had a colonial lieutenant governor and Robert the Bruce in there. I assumed he was talking about, if she was a daughter (or granddaughter), she'd be a princess, so didn't bother me. Yes! -
That's why I came, too. So young, so sad.
-
Be nice if this could replace 'Roseanne,' but very much doubt that could happen.

Patrick seems to have had a miserable childhood, for the most part. Rather appalling that he's inflicting some of the same on his children. He may not be sadistic like his father, but in others ways - the excessive drinking, the violent outbursts, basically, his lack of self-control - he's damaging his children much like he was damaged. Thus far, he's unable to break the cycle. His drunken run to the liquor store - i kept thinking he'd be pulled over and arrested, or total the rental he was driving. Loved Blythe Danner as the aunt; believable as his mother's sister. (Did I get the relationship right?) So, looking forward to the last episode. I read a small sample of one of the books (available on Amazon), and the writing is beautiful, with fully developed sentences and paragraphs.

You're welcome! No, Zoey is my (now dearly departed) Sheltie, and she was born in 1996. I liked what Virginia was wearing yesterday. There were a bunch of answers that I couldn't believe nobody knew! Tankard, Taps (composed at Berkeley Plantation, Virginia), and Alabama. I knew tangine and Ripken, but couldn't pull them out in time. Yes! Has anyone seen the poppies done in Great Britain? They look much more like the real thing than the ones I usually see here.

Season 10: All Episode Talk

I watched the Megan Mullalley episode. Maybe it's just me, but it seemed like she was jumping to conclusions that may or may not have been substantiated by facts. I also was irritated by her over-the-top reactions. Not a fan of hers, so that may be coloring my viewpoint, but it just seemed like a bit much. -
Of the main cast, Alan Cummings is the only one I'm familiar with. Don't remember seeing any of the others in anything else; that may be a good thing. I had no idea that episodes were being broadcast out of order from the production. So far, I'm really liking it. Loved the girls singing, too. And glad Gary the dog will be OK for the time being, too!

Here's the link for The Alphabet Ends With Y collection: https://www.cafepress.com/kinseysalphabet/15167766 There are several other collections based on Grafton's work that are linked on the left side of the page.

It's from cafe press. I think I still have it bookmarked, so I'll look for it tomorrow. There were several cool items on the site, too.
-
I loved the question for books on audible, the Grafton one. So sad she died much too soon. But I have a coffee mug that says, "The alphabet ends with Y."
