  1. I agree with the opinion about the mother. She's so dishonest and devious, and has been on every episode so far. Lying, stealing, teaching her kids it's all right to lie. I get a little white lie once in a while, but this is more than that.
  2. I got all those except Daytona. Did not get FJ. Liked Autumn's hair, but her speaking pace was staccato, which I didn't like.
  3. I want Cara's cherry earrings! Agree, both Miles and Cara showed some growth this episode. I felt for what Lena is going through because of Terrance. Just because someone might die, doesn't mean it's possible to imagine that person never being there again. None of us are promised tomorrow, doesn't mean we can imagine what happens after.
  4. Week 9: 4/5 for the week, no asterisk Season - 26/45, two asterisks
  5. I also got Academy - Police Academy movies I don't recall when I learned "splat" for that part of a chair, possibly from Antiques Roadshow.
  6. I squeed at "Park"! Rainbow Rowell used to write a newspaper column for the Omaha World Herald, and I've read all of her books, so I knew it. Got FJ - good for me! ;-) The teens are doing quite well, aren't they?
  7. I love fried catfish! And cobbler, though I prefer cherry to peach. Grover was such a brat this episode, I don't remember him acting so disrespectfully in prior episodes.
  8. Only worse! I really like Maya, but would be ok with Anish winning.
  9. I think they said heart attack. Ah, I like Mike B. Kind of like shapeshifter said, he can be a bit of comic relief. I remember the actor from Judging Amy, one of my faves from way back when.
  10. I agree, the cold shoulder looks good on no one! FJ was an instaget for me. I want to see both movies!
  11. Week 8: 4/5 Season to date: 22/40
  12. Yes, I just read this! I do like AT, but I also think he's getting a bit "after his time."
  13. Did you mean to conflate God Friended Me and Manifest?
  14. Week 7: 3 for 5, one asterisk Season: 18 for 30, two asterisks!
  15. I got Einstein, but was surprised none of the contestants knew it. I'd recently watched the Nat Geo "Genius" series about Einstein, and that certainly helped me with the answer. Like some others, I knew Beowulf, but couldn't come up with Grendel. I looked up Old English Literature on wikipedia. There are a number of examples, including sermons and narrative history works, but Beowulf is the most prominent example.
  16. I am liking this show very much. However, I had to eye-roll when Miles came up with one Jim Smith match. Seriously? Oh, well. I love planetariums and museums in general, so that was pretty cool. And I know a tiny bit about the ratio. Sweet to have the sax repaired. It can be difficult, after someone dies, to figure out what has meaning and should be kept, and what to donate or toss. I hope they don't drag out the Miles/Cara thing too much. I'm fine if they end up as just friends, just settle it without too much fuss and bother.
  17. 4/5 this week. 15/30 with one asterisk for the season.
  18. I liked this episode a lot. A lot going on - Miles'sister, revelation from his father regarding sister and congregants who left because of the acceptance, and those who came because of it. The retired cop/PI, the late wife and her connection to the boy. Neat twist, I thought. Karaoke bar was a good scene. Worried for Rakesh, and then happy it worked. I like the lead a lot, and I think overall the rest of the cast works for me.
  19. No Jeopardy! on Thursday night due to the weather nannies, and no power on Friday night. (I'm in Virginia.) I looked up FJ on thejeopardyfan.com for both nights, but I'd inadvertently seen the answer for Thursday. I might have gotten it correct, but since I'd already seen it, that doesn't count. I did get Friday's FJ before I saw the answer, so yay me! Was also glad to see Alex the contestant is out; he was OK, but I was ready for a new face. But then I haven't seen the champ play yet, so who knows?
  20. 2/5 this week; 11/25 with one asterisk for the season. No electricity due to Michael for yesterday, but I looked up the question on thejeopardyfan.com and got the answer right. Good for me!
  21. In the Job DW clue, I thought they were looking for Job's wife's name, not for what DW stood for. Same for the Redwoods clue; I couldn't figure out fast enough what they were asking for. On the Barnes & Noble gases, I wondered if I heard Barnes & Nobles and that was the reason for the pause. I got Churchill though it was more a guess because I wasn't certain Churchill was that prolific a writer.
  22. Yes, I meant that because they'd been out of the house and staying with others, they hadn't had to pay rent for that month, not that they couldn't pay it. Sorry, my phrasing was confusing.
  23. Week 4: 2/5, one asterisk. Season to date: 9/20, one asterisk.
  24. I can hand-wave a lot, but...they hadn't paid rent for a month, they can't afford to buy a house, but they can take the whole family to England? Yeah, I know Jimmy works for an airline, so maybe that works. But England can be expensive! Still liked a lot in the episode anyway. Maya's losing her accent, Ray trying to be a cool Cali Dude, Dylan & Kenneth's love for the Royals, JJ & Jimmy going for the view. And when is Cleese ever not funny?
  25. I also got the ts FJ! Asterisk! I have it on my kindle in case I ever want to read it. ?
