  1. Our cable went out just before Jeopardy! so I only checked the archive for FJ. I didn’t get it. 😕
  2. I thought of Ted Talks, but FJ did not come to me. I knew several ts’s, including Culloden (thanks, Outlander), Meals Ready to Eat, and rubber chicken.
  3. I just watched a compilation of clips on a Facebook Jeopardy! post mainly from Mattea’s interviews, and she sure does talk with her hands a lot! I’m usually multitasking while watching (preparing and/or eating dinner) so I hadn’t seen that much of her talking with her hands before.
  4. Whereas I want Amy to annihilate the other two. Didn't like either, really liked Amy.
  5. The clue was, "On the Kansas turnpike, it's about 8 bucks cash to drive from Topeka to this bigger city 140 miles southwest" which would indicate that it's within Kansas, since the Kansas Turnpike ends at the Oklahoma state line.
  6. I was thinking there better not be any leftover clues because of that long intro! To no avail, I was yelling “Wichita! Wichita! You dolts!” And I’m finding Mattea’s commentary and mannerisms increasingly annoying.
  7. All the usual paraphernalia surrounding getting your periods was well represented, but at that time I think most might have thought tampons could be omitted, because they are inserted rather than worn. I got my period at age 10 in 1961 or ‘62, and that was considered young. Even when you know what to expect, getting your first period can be upsetting and embarrassing.
  8. The Kate/Toby episode was difficult. I’ve been through a divorce once, and wouldn’t wish it on anyone. I identified with both of them. So many feelings!
  9. No, nothing was said at all about the woman with Henri. I also don’t like the visible zippers when they’re overdone. Same with the “cold shoulder” look that is still popular. Not that I’ve seen that in Bull, just a fashion commentary. I thought that instead of Bull telling Rafael to go to a meeting, they should have gone together. Bull is also on a sobriety journey. Be good for him to go as well. I’ve never really liked Izzy very much either. Nothing concrete, just not my cuppa.
  10. I never did get one. Dad farmed, and some years were pretty lean, so we couldn’t afford it.
  11. Week 31: 3/5, 1* YTD: 75/155, 6*, 6A*, 2M*
  12. Bringing over from episode thread Saturday in the Park. I was adopted at 18 months old with my brother who had just turned 3. We both have childhood memories from those ages. I think some of my memories are from family talking about them, but there are others that I know are my own vivid memories.
  13. I think it’s on some other streaming services as well.
  14. We’ve watched Vintage Base Ball in several locations, such as Wichita at Old Cowtown, near Des Moines at the Living History Farms, and in Virginia. Yes, makes for a great afternoon!
  15. I’ve watched the three seasons of Miracle Workers. Each is a different story with different characters. I liked season 2 the best, but I think all are worth watching. The humor is a bit quirky, some might say twisted, and irreverent, but I’ve enjoyed it a lot.
  16. Week 30: 2/5 YTD: 72/150, 5*, 6A*, 2M*
  17. As Bastet mentioned, the title is How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, and not, Without Even Trying.
  18. Ken Burns's four-hour documentary, Benjamin Franklin, explores the revolutionary life of one of the 18th century's most consequential figures. Episode 1 | “Join or Die” (1706-1774) Episode 2 | "An American" (1775-1790) I watched Episode 2, but not Episode 1 yet. It's a thorough, in-depth look at Franklin's life and legacy.
  19. I’ve heard of Succession, but never watched nor do I know anything about it. I figured the family name was LeRoy or something similar, but that was it.
  20. I've read both books, and my brother's class performed both plays for their junior and senior high school plays. I've also seen the Myrna Loy movies. One of the Gilbreth children, Frank B. Jr., wrote several books and was a columnist for a Charleston, SC newspaper writing under the pseudonym Ashley Cooper.
  21. I love minor league baseball! When we lived in Wichita, we went to the then-Wichita Wranglers games several times a season, and we were in the stands in 1992 when they won the championship for the Texas League. When we moved to Omaha, we went to several games for the Omaha Royals, getting season tickets for several years. We also went to games in Des Moines, and when on vacation, went to the opening night for the Toledo Mudhens, Max Klinger's hometown team (M*A*S*H). Since moving to Virginia, we go less because the teams are farther away, but we have been to games for the Norfolk Tides, the Richmond Braves and the Richmond Flying Squirrels, and the Potomac Cannon before they became the Potomac Nationals, then moving to Fredericksburg. One year our summer vacation was a minor league baseball tour of North Carolina, with one game in Johnson City Tennessee. Eight nights,, one night per city/town, eight games, from A up to AAA. So much fun! We toured something in each place. A highlight was the Biltmore Estate in Asheville. We also enjoy college baseball, but haven't been to a game for several years now. I prepared taxes during tax season, and then covid came along. I've been to a couple of major league games (Kansas City, Atlanta) but like the minors much more.
  22. Week 29: 4/5 YTD: 70/145, 5*, 6A*, 2M* I love minor league baseball! Taking to small talk.
  23. I would, until I tried to find something I used and that had been deemed clutter by the organizer. Or until I had to figure out if it was still in the house, where it might be.
