  1. I thought it was perfectly logical because her default when anyone opposed her was pretty much "Burn them all". She was her father's daughter and started showing it in Season 2. Exactly. That I fully agree with, but I think the notion of a king who can see the mistakes of the past (literally) and not repeat them is pretty appealing. Doesn't mean it would work out, but it has a certain logic to it. I just wish they'd had Tyrion use that as the reason Bran should be king instead of the "who has the best story" nonsense. Although it's possible not everyone gathered knew about that ability. Honestly, I don't think GRRM knows how to get there either.
  2. I did too. They seemed reasonable in their requests and also understood that they might not get everything they wanted. And they weren't insisting on central Paris for a change. I liked the couple in Falkirk for a lot of the same reasons. Yeah, that was annoying. I know damned well that other countries have things we don't. France, for example, has pastries the quality of which you cannot get here, even in the best bakeries. (Ummm, eclairs!) Eh, not everyone aspires to have a career. Depends on what kind of lifestyle you want. But yeah, Scottish winters are going to be quite the shock.
  3. I usually do that but apparently messed it up this time.
  4. Idk, my family is a bit like that. My dad was the peacekeeper. Which was a good thing given what the interaction with some of my mom's family was like. It didn't seem like he'd ever told anyone about it, so why would it be mentioned? Unless you mean in Sheldon's voiceover. I actually resisted watching the show at first because I detest Sheldon, so I'm fine with less and less of him. I like most of the rest of the characters and find them enjoyable. I don't mind her most of the time. There was an episode in an earlier season of Young Sheldon with a voiceover which referenced Georgie's first marriage. Of course, he also said it was when Georgie was 19, so . . . I'd watch a spin-off with Missy, preferably with Sheldon MIA completely.
  5. Oh, I definitely wouldn't want an AI generated Dawson, that's for sure. But he was the best thing about the Arnold movie.
  6. I got it correct, probably because I wouldn't have known the difference between a hawk and a falcon just by looking at them. Both beautiful birds, though.
  7. I thought I copied the quote correctly, but obviously not. I try to be careful about that when pulling a quote out of a third party's post. Sorry for the confusion.
  8. Like, why even include in in the JIT if they were just going to put her in the Masters Tournament anyway?
  9. Alfa Romeo, they don't break down every 5 minutes anymore!
  10. Too bad Trevor didn't hear that one. It is one of John Williams' better movie scores. I hope there are dinosaurs on the cake. I love the part with the stripper. Who was hot and pretty damned good. And clearly willing to roll with whatever since Sam was paying. I didn't realize that was him. But yes, very cool. Glad to see him again. I record this show just so I can watch it again later. This episode is definitely worth the rewatch, if only for the dinosaurs.
  11. He also knows at least part of I Walk the Line. The murder songs were funny, though. CC liked the upbeat one. We had indoor-outdoor carpet in the kitchen in a similar color. It was such a bad idea. Once my brother was supposed to start supper because my parents weren't home yet (he was about 12, I think) and the pan caught fire. He panicked and threw it across the kitchen. Melted the carpet when it landed. We got new flooring shortly afterwards. Still carpet, though. We also had carpet in the bathroom for a short time. Even worse idea. Yes, it was.
  12. I'd rather watch all of that than have even 5 more seconds of Sheldon.
  13. Isn't Mandy working at the video store, at least part-time? Not saying she shouldn't be doing more at home, too, but she's doing more than just sitting around.
  14. Yeah, I wasn't sure what to make of Alison at first, but the alligator story won me over. I liked Brian too. I didn't dislike Lee, but she was definitely not going any farther. I not only got FJ, but also came up with both shuttles. I was sure about Discovery and guessed Endeavor based it sounding like it should be the name of an English explorer's ship. I don't care one way or the other unless I really like or dislike a particular contestant.
  15. I remember them being featured a lot despite being only vaguely good at anything during the Race, but then, it has been a long time since I've seen that particular season so I could be wrong. I just know I went from being slightly annoyed at them to really not liking them. I never remember their names, but I agree he's pretty hot.
  16. Debbie & Bianca. They were supposed to go from Santiago to Argentina but made a wrong turn and headed 5 hours in the opposite direction, ending up on the Pacific coast of Chile. This was the leg with the infamous Argentine meat roadblock.
  17. Neither can I, which is why I'd have been the drum part instead. There's working together to finish a task and then there's giving away your entire advantage by helping people navigate. Oy. You thought they weren't? Nah, from what little we've seen of the girlfriends, they seem competent and not just lucking their way into not being eliminated.
  18. It's not that I don't like the boyfriends, because I do. They're pleasant and enthusiastic and competent. But honestly, I want to see someone else finish first for a change. Maybe not for the whole race, just for a leg or two.
  19. I didn't see anything wrong with the way the clue was phrased. And apparently neither did Lucas, who got it correct. I was just glad to see 3 people I didn't know. So yes, I'm happy we're done with tournaments for awhile.
  20. I had no idea either. I said Sea of Azov but did not think that was correct. I've seen their commercials but still didn't put it together.
  21. Social media has changed how the sport and the players are covered. Although I suspect it won't have the same frenzy next season unless another "once in a generation" type player fills the void left when Clark goes to the WNBA. Her achievements really were stupendous and generated a lot of media attention. I mean, she broke the men's college scoring record which had stood for 54 years!
  22. They do now, but there is a Lume commercial where Dr. Shannon specifically mentions how women are made to feel bad about our natural body odor, then shills a whole body deodorant for women as though she's not being part of the problem.
  23. To be fair, not everyone did at the time he lived. The link between hand washing and disease prevention wasn't well known until the middle of the 19th century. That was iffy, historically speaking. Definitely a natural cause.
