  1. I am an avid reader. I always look forward to seeing the movie and/or program about a book I've read. I can't remember the adaptation being similar to the book other than a good percentage of the Harry Potter movies. This is why I either avoid or I take with a grain of salt when I watch it. I was so pissed at the casting of Tom Hanks in the DaVinci Code that I refused to see the movie. I guess there's a benefit to my watching the show before reading the books. At first I made a mistake and ordered the kindle version and then I realized my mistake and ordered the trilogy in paperback. I'm already halfway through Book 1 and I'm enjoying the filling in of the plot, however, I'm picturing the characters as I see them in the show...not as were described in the book. It makes me less angry this way. I'm up to date on Shudder and one episode drops each week. The next one will be Season 2, Episode 6. The only problem I have is that Shudder is a channel on my cable services but it's an App, sort of like Netflix. When I watch a foreign show I need closed captioning to understand what they are saying. I need to be immersed. Well...on Shudder the cc box covers the whole screen!! So it's a matter of seeing and not hearing well or hearing well and not seeing. Grrrr. I've worked with my cable company and Shudder directly and nobody claims responsibility and I'm spinning my wheels. I can't watch Shudder on my laptop which would be ideal, since purchasing the channel on cable is different than purchasing the streaming app.
  2. Poor Jimmy. I gasped when he said it. I read that they wanted to kill of someone with COVID and they didn't want to kill any of the main characters. I think Jack could have gone and we wouldn't care. Or is that just me? Here's the link: https://www.etonline.com/ncis-fans-react-to-heartbreaking-reveal-jimmy-palmers-wife-died-of-covid-19-160358 I loved Torres' apartment and the fact that there wasn't much flirting with Bishop. As far as Kasey..why do they feel the need to make the character in that job quirky? She is not as bad as Abbie though
  3. I don't want to say I told you so but I knew last episode that Maggie and Nester were going to be kaput. She's so intense. I bet she never has any fun. I kind of liked Nester today. He was badass. Even OA liked him. And then once again we have the stupidity of this show wherein they are not close to the perp and they yell FBI, giving him a chance to run. Lucky for them those cars were right there to corner him. I shake my head every episode at this! This last episode with the bomb had me really nervous at the end. I knew they would diffuse it but my heart was in my mouth.
  4. OMG the second case today about the money transfer gave me a freaking headache. The Plaintiff was so slow and non-understanding about Zelle it was like pulling teeth to get to the bottom of the case. And once again the phone with the texts was gone. I'm 72 and I'm up on all of these new fangled things.
  5. Just watched the second episode of Welcome Home. I see that Joanna has evolved in her design aesthetic. In both episodes the office was in the front of the house and for the wall between the office and the living space she has put glass and metal. Episode 1 was a big window from an office building and in episode 2 she actually had it made with the bottom half wall of walnut and then the upper half looks like window panes. It's very dramatic and stunning. Episode 2 they made mention that this was the first time a TV was featured in a living room on Fixer Upper. Also I loved that they used walnut cabinets in the kitchen too...no white!!
  6. I'm thinking the buffering and freezing has a lot to do with your wifi rather than the service itself. I've watched Discovery Plus a couple of times and have had no problem, the same with Netflix and Hulu. I have Spectrum.
  7. I thought I heard the mother say to her at one point when she wanted to walk to stores and cafes that she could do it after school in the city.
  8. I think you are right. I also think that the Queen was jealous that Diana got a bigger reception than her visit in 1954. That's why she didn't sit them down and talk to them.
  9. I wonder what will happen to Maine Cabin Masters. I love that show.
  10. Anybody watch their new show on Discovery Plus? Wow...that house reminded me of season 1 when they used to take on real fixer uppers. I could almost smell the house through the TV...ugh. But as usual they did a pretty good job on it.
  11. Georgia couple. Correct me if I'm wrong. I didn't see a basement in the chandelier house. Wasn't their budget $800,000? They were complaining about going to $685,000. Strange episode.
  12. London tonight. I LOVE Richard! I only didn't turn it off because of him. Did the husband say what his job was? It's kind of silly to move overseas if you work remotely isn't it? That being said thank God the woman has anxiety. Imagine how annoying her trying to be so cute would be if she didn't?
  13. I loved the art studio too. I love that they put pegs all around the room! What a great idea. I wish they would have restored the old floors. I didn't like the white floors either. They did a good job on this one albeit everything white yet again. I still have a crush on Steve. His hair is either dyed blonde or it's gray now. I always think Leanne smokes weed before she does her talking heads... lol
  14. I happened to DVR Season 1 from AMC. I just got around to watching it. I've never heard of the books. I started watching this week (snowed in) and I enjoyed it. I didn't recognize Matthew Goode from Downton Abbey. These are my thoughts. If I read the books I'd picture Matthew more imposing. I've read Nancy Warren's Vampire Knitting Club and the head vampire Rafe is supposed to be extremely good looking and imposing. In fact I found a couple of similarities between Matthew and Rafe. That being said I thought Matthew was very possessive and controlling and reminded me of Edward in Twilight (I only read the books). I would feel smothered if I was in a relationship with him. As far as Diana...eh... I have nothing to compare her to though. I don't see much chemistry with Matthew though. As far as the rest of the Congregation I find them all interesting in their own way.. Juliette is beautiful and I like Satu. I guess it's good that I hadn't read the book so as I said before I have nothing to compare them to. At one point Matthew called Marcus "son". Is he his son? From other vampire stuff I've seen and read I would think all the vampires are young looking. I was shocked to see Matthew's mom to be older and also Marthe and Gerbert. Now that I've read the forum I see that I am right. So I did watch Season 2, Episode 1. This led me to subscribe to Shudder so I can see the next 5 episodes. I'm not going to rush through them though. It also led me to order Book 1 from Amazon.
  15. I've been watching today's marathon; I'm amazed that they can get a whole house built in 100 days. I like the couple and it seems like his crew does nice work.
  16. Question for you knowledgeables: I've noticed that all of the HG shows...both new and old...now refer to the Master bedroom as the Main bedroom. Why??? They also keep saying "Main bathroom" which confuses me into thinking it's the guest bathroom. Is it the Master bathroom? Can they say Main Suite now? Also, do you think they did voiceovers on the old ones? I'm seeing shows about 2 years old saying Main. Head scratcher.
  17. Ohhh I completely forgot about the crossword puzzle botch. She waited so long to say the ones that were already filled in. I'm not the only one that didn't hear "slacks" then. I knew I wasn't crazy...lol Last night was idiot night I guess.
  18. They want to take us away from cable but when you start to figure it out, all of these add ons come to more than we pay for cable. Don't forget we still need to pay for wifi so they'll get us that way. I got a year free from Verizon but I haven't watched chip and Joanna yet. I was watching Home Town and Fixer to Fabulous.
  19. She was a real head scratcher albeit a lucky one. I was shocked she solved the final puzzle. I'm not even so sure she said slacks
  20. That's right!! The idiot woodworking defendant! You had him pegged with the fact that his expression never changed. The judge was amazed at his stupidity about leaving the cabinet outside in the rain and humidity! I completely forgot this one.

I am mad we didn't see the Dolly Parton tree too!! I was a little claustrophobic thinking about this episode. It made me nervous even though I knew they would get out eventually. Bishop and Torres are officially annoying...She was pretty bitchy to him. When he was first introduced he was like a lothario and now he's reduced to this. Am I the only one who doesn't want to see them together?
  22. The thing I hate the most is the open shelves in the kitchen. Jenny seems to do that a lot. I see Erin on Home Town doing it too. I imagine the dishes and glasses getting greasy near the cooking area. I loved the episode with her parents. I cried at the end too. Her mother and father were so happy. They did such a nice job on that house. I got Discovery Plus and they only had a couple of episodes of this show. I was wishing they had more.
  23. I was so excited to see Long Beach! We had a summer home (bungalow) there from when I was a child. In fact I bought a permanent home there right after I got married. This was 1974 and the whole area was oppressed. We were living there and all of our families and my husband's job was in Brooklyn. I found myself all alone a lot. Most stores were boarded up. It was very depressing. Eventually we sold the house and moved back to Brooklyn and then probably a year or so later everything picked up and now everything is ridiculously expensive. Our house was just 5 blocks from the house they chose. In the view from the roof I can see the church my oldest son was baptized in. Beech St was one of the main streets through the town. As far as Sunset Bay I never heard of it. I think it was one of the cutesy names they pick for houses on Beach Hunters. I liked the house on the bay the most too. I hope they're prepared for sand in the house day and night ..that's the one good memory I have of Long Beach.
  24. I hate the standard M/O on all of these procedural shows. When you see the perp and he's like 20 feet away then yell FBI. Couldn't Maggie get a little closer? And then of course she killed him. They always kill the kidnapper so then it's a race to find out where the kidnapped person is. I'm thinking Maggie and Nestor are going to be history soon enough. I agree how did the kidnapper even recognize Ben as an adult...bald head and all. The FBI Wanted commercial was right in the middle of the search in the woods. When I saw the guys face I thought...hmm crossover.
  25. Today was "Liar Liar Pants on Fire Day". I remembered both cases and hated the "pregnant" defendant and the girl who had her father stick her up but didn't want to say so. I would have given her nothing at all.
