  1. Re: Demeter Then I was pondering the child Demeter said they lost. I heard somewhere that Odin had two sons... one being Thor. This story line can't be about Shadow being the child Demeter mourns because she certainly would know as well or better than the father if her own child was still alive, no? ;
  2. On first watch I thought this episode was just kind of dull and wasted valuable time, the season being a mere ten episodes and all. Watching it again, I found it rather annoying. When Shadow tells Laura Wednesday is his father she said what she said about not much surprising her but that certainly did... wouldn't she have had a whole ton of questions for Shadow about whether HE himself is a god or possesses supernatural abilities? I'll bet it would have been good for hours of conversation, as Laura Moon has seen as much and quite possibly more of Wednesday's capabilities than Shadow has. When the war between the old and new gods finally happens what are the chances Demeter's scattered lights recombine and we see her in her old form when she swoops in to assist Odin? If that's not where the writers are taking it, showing us weeks of her indifference and avoidance only to to "surprise" us with the turnabout... then it was a complete waste of time (IMHO). Maybe it's just me.
  3. I know... I know... lol ... and believe me I have held grudges and moved people to persona non grata status in my mind for MUCH less but saving a guy from being tortured in some sort of hi-tech contraption on a moving train should hold some sway. Especially while dear old dad just went on about his business.
  4. Bilquis is one of if not my favorite character, but I must confess I wasn't worried for her in the least! (and it's not just because of all the previews of her in upcoming scenes either!) I was glad to see Shadow and Laura Moon together again. It seems it has taken eons for this to happen. I hope he gives a damn this time. They've actually been in each other's presence quite a few times since the motel room and Easter's house. They were traveling somewhere in the backseat of Betty with Wednesday driving and wasn't it Mad Sweeney in the passenger seat? Then there was a gathering of the gods at a restaurant or something where Laura and Sweeney were kind of off to the side and Shadow was getting roped into Wednesday's BS. Sweeney said to Laura he's Wednesday's man now. It hurts to lose something you love, doesn't it? (may have been where they were traveling to in the car) Laura saved Shadow with Sweeney's help when he was being tortured by Mr. Town. They've been at the mortuary in Cairo... seems like more than once. What was that place where Sweeney went at Wednesday with the sword and Shadow got in the middle? The place where Wednesday's plant was growing into a tree... that wasn't the mortuary, was it? The next morning Shadow and Laura were outside and he was telling her that Sweeney had died the night before. He always seemed completely unmoved by seeing her, or her having made her way back from the dead to protect him and warn him about Wednesday. Will this time be any different? Why is springing Demeter for a date so impossible when you travel in a vehicle that morphs into totally different ones and you can insert new I.D. in your son's pocket from a distance when his face and old name are plastered all over the media as being some sort of wanted criminal... not to mention set him up with a job and apartment in Lakeside in that new name... and you get news bulletins from birds all the time? Wednesday took Laura to some sort of other dimension where the media gods hang out... and where exactly did he take Shadow to see Whiskey Jack? Really? He can't phony up some discharge papers or glamour the dude who runs the retreat? All that nit-picking aside, I did enjoy the episode as it seemed to fly by.
  5. Has anyone noticed that after s3 ep4 aired Sunday night and would usually repeat until the next new episode airs, s3 ep3 has been airing? Just s3 ep3, not followed buy s3 ep4. Odd.
  6. On the topic about AG in the media or the topic about the cast there's news they'll edit out his part because of allegations of abuse by Evan Rachael Wood (and others).
  7. Over the show's hiatus we learned Iwan Rheon would be joining the cast as Liam Doyle (a Leprechaun) along with Marilyn Manson and Blythe Danner. The press didn't see fit to give Graham Green a mention! IMDB Lists Pablo Shreiver appearing as Mad Sweeney in episodes from 2017-2019. So it looks like it's really RIP Sweeney!
  8. Marilyn Manson to be edited out of American Gods following abuse allegations by Evan Racheal Wood. His record label dropped him and a Ca. State Senator has called for him to be investigated. Info on the front page of this site! (link wouldn't imbed)
  9. I've been having trouble understanding him this season because of the way his diction has suffered. I haven't wanted to appear rude or insensitive but with his gaunt appearance on top of that, I've been wondering if he may be having difficulty eating as well. I've seen a few stars and even older friends of the family go through issues with ill-fitting dental appliances and it's horrendous. You'd think A-list actors would have access to the best dentists in the world, but even still possibly he was having issues getting them perfected when production had to commence.
  10. So by Googling I found a recap of the ep that stated the AV man in purgatory said Laura's earworm was Schweiger's Requiem of Baldr. It also stated in Norse mythology Baldr is one of Odin's sons. The song seemed to be playing in ep 3 when tiny Laura was listening outside the woman's room her dad was cavorting with. She said strange choice of music, or something like that. So why can't I find any versions of the song to listen to?
  11. I did! I imagined the opening in Anansi's voice From the time Baron Samedi gave Laura Moon her back to life potion it seemed we were being lead in the direction that the 2 drops of blood from someone who loves her needed to complete it would come from Mad Sweeney. I just couldn't see how it would happen once he died and she avoided the pool of his blood on the floor in that place where Shadow skewered Sweeney with Grimnor's spear. I couldn't conceive of the blood remaining red, wet and viable long after his death. I guess that's where the explaination by The Lord of the Dead's fuck buddy spousal equivalent that those with "God energy" die differently comes in. If we had to get to this point with Laura Moon having turned to dust in that tomb, then I guess this being the way she comes back to life is pretty satisfying. I didn't really enjoy the purgatory stuff for many reasons, one being I much prefer Anubis being her guide in the afterlife.
  12. Oh yes, that rings a bell now. After reading your post I put Shadow and Tech Boy in a You Tube search but didn't turn up what I was looking for, only the 1st and last episodes.
  13. As for the last sentence paragraph 1, we've been asked to believe Shadow did the damn near impossible when he got the cracked wind shield of the borrowed / rented car fixed and back to it's owner on time. lol Not knowing why Tech boy was weeping, I wondered if it was over what he found when he entered Bilquis' lair? When Shadow got there we saw him touch the blood on the floor near those black feather things with metal claws. Going back to when Bilquis see's someone with that light is coming through her door she picked up one of those feather claw things. We weren't shown who or what that was that cut the latch(es) on Bilquis' door and made that strange light appear? I didn't get whether that was supposed to something real like a plasma cutter or some mystical light? On the previews Shadow is demanding answers from Tech Boy. I meant to look up Ofnir too, but anyone who calls himself Odin and Grimnir probably has another name or two. The last part: Shadow is seemingly trying to get some impression by touching the newspaper but his expression conveys 'what am I doing?' and he keeps walking and doesn't notice the headline changed for him. I didn't see anyone find the bloody scarf (mentioned in the new headline), did you? ETA: unscrambled 2 words for clarity
  14. This was very generous of both of you. After that long wait and having endured season two, I was hoping for a lot more! I don't find any of the old gods compelling except for Bilquis who I could watch a full hour of, and I fall asleep when the focus is on the so-called new gods. IDK if most people find Wednesday likeable? I dislike him for all the reasons Shadow stated when they met s1 e1 and the actor brings that smug smarmy quality to all of his roles, it seems. I'd hoped Laura and Shadow would get back together but it appears he doesn't even think of her anymore. He seems unmoved by the fact she made her way back from the dead to be with him and watch over him and she saved him when he was being being tortured by Mr. Town and she'd been trying to warn him about possibly being used or at least manipulated by Wednesday all along. With all that about the Baron's potion that was supposed to bring Laura Moon back to life once 2 drops of blood from someone who loved her was added it seemed we were being lead in the direction of Mad Sweeney maybe being the one to provide the blood... which would be a bit fairy tale for this show, but he did pick her up and put her back together after the ice cream truck overturned in s 2 when he could have taken his coin and left. Now, no ore Mad Sweeney. At this point I don't know who or what I'm supposed to care about? They don't really show us too much about Shadow's personality except maybe that he's polite and would do things like help an old lady across the street / join with the search party for the missing girl in his new town. He was trying to rope Laura into some sort of con when they met. So what, he's like a reformed grifter with overtones of boy scout? If I listed all the things that puzzled me this post would be mighty long, but on the previouslies they showed us that Wednesday lifted the dentist's invite to Zoraya's celebration / send off from his desk. Why did Shadow (who Wednesday brought to Zoraya's house for dinner once) receive an invitation and Wednesday not?
  15. Thank you! That makes a lot more sense, I was thinking it was "How about you still take me out of here?" Which I doubt they would have written like that.
  16. I've replayed the promo clip several times and for the life of me I can't hear/understand what Laura Moon is saying "How about you ____ me ____again?" I caught the last episode and the preview with closed captions on, but nope, no captions on the preview. Can anyone hear what she said? Thanks.
  17. Ok, thank you. I thought the episode was pretty boring. Did we really need Salim asking where the Jinn was in two scenes? With Laura Moon turning to dust last week and all?
  18. Yes, I saw her in the preview shown this week. IDK if that counts as an appearance either. Did you notice what she was wearing? I stated in my whole post above she looked to be wearing what she was wearing when she was at the scale with Anubis. Cap sleeve top black with white horizontal stripes and black short skirt... not sure if it was 2 pieces or a dress. IDK what to make of that?
  19. Thank you, I did not know that. I've been looking forward to finding out how she comes back all week and I feel rather let down.
  20. Why is Emily Browning (Laura Moon) listed on IMBD as appearing in this episode, Serious Moonlight? I know I nearly nodded off a few times, but I don't think I missed her appearance? On the preview shown this week we see Laura Moon in the dress she was wearing when she first encountered Anubis at the scales. That's odd.
  21. Kellyanne Conway is such a non-factor and my brain dumped whatever the hell I heard her spew at a hundred fifty words a minute, that I read the first few comments about KC thinking why is everyone so mad at Katie Couric! Hearing Bill talk about the Trump brand being here to stay, referencing his threats to run again in 2024 and noting many of the republicans were afraid to stand up for what's right lest they alienate his supporters... then say "we let the alien on to the spaceship" was worth the price of admission.
  22. I just rewatched it and she's in a scene before and after the one I referenced above. She looks well! There's a scene where she has something dark brown draped over her and she looks pretty glowy. That may be inside the tomb... it's hard to tell. Where she's walking along in winter clothing carrying the sword she looks alive, but cold. Then she's riding in a car with who I guess is the new Leprechaun and she looks quite normal and alive.
  23. From the season 3 trailer we see Laura Moon dressed in winter clothing holding what looks to be Grimnir's sword saying I'm going to kill Wednesday. Also the actress who plays Laura Moon is listed as appearing in the next ten 2021 episodes. I'm glad it's not the end of Laura Moon, though I'll miss her interaction with Mad Sweeney.
  24. Since the coin was able to start glowing and slip down through the earth, make it's way through Laura Moon's casket and into her body where it seems to reside in her core or solar plexus... I first thought she might get up on top of Mad Sweeney and line up that part of her body with his to see what that might do? I wonder how it will get back inside her where she needs it to be to be sort of alive? Do those bugs in the tomb they made sure we saw have something to do with it? We know Bilquis (for one) has said to Laura Moon I know where to find you. Laura left the door open, does Baron Samedi's lady friend come see what she's up to?
  25. When Laura Moon is in the field with Wednesday he asks her if she can still see Shadow's golden light, to which she answers no. After she slays Argus fulfilling her end of the "compact" with Mr Wednesday, she asks him how she's going to get out of where the tech gods are hanging and back to where Shadow Moon is... and he basically tells her to get stuffed How did she make her way to New Orleans, and find Mad Sweeney so he could take her to the Baron?
