  1. Thank you! I saw the election coverage as well and came here hoping someone had posted an update.
  2. I love making oatmeal using steel cut oats in my slow cooker. I add apples and cinnamon too. I put the ingredients in the slow cooker at bedtime and let it cook overnight. It’s my favorite wintertime breakfast.
  3. For my more serious guesses, Amelia Hope Alexandra Hope Caroline Hope
  4. I’m guessing Gianna for her first name. It is a derivative of John so they can suck up to MacArthur, plus being in LA, there’s the Kobe connection. However, there may be a lot of future Giannas in LA/California and the Duggars like to be different so my second guess is Cady for Jerm’s man crush. So Gianna Cady or Cady Gianna are my not so serious, but you never know, guesses.
  5. @Jynnan tonnix I can’t believe how much she has grown! It seems like just a few months ago, you were showing us baby pictures. She is beautiful!
  6. I guess I’m in the minority. I think Ivy is adorable. I love her big eyes.
  7. Do we know if Jill and Jinger get along? Even though they are the 2 that seem to have broken away the most from the Duggar rules, JereME and Derrick are both so sanctimonious, I can’t picture them getting along, even if they still have similar beliefs. If that’s the case, then Jinger might be thinking, “Babe doesn’t approve of Derrick (and by extension Jill), I love Babe, so I don’t approve of Derrick (and by extension Jill).”
  8. I can see how seeing a grandma with her blue-haired, tattooed daughter and grandchild would be threatening to Jill. It might mean that grandma raised her daughter to be her own person and accepts her for who she is, as opposed to Jill’s conditional acceptance of her children as long as they are obedient robots. In return, the tattooed daughter may want to spend time with her mother even though she probably has friends and a life of her own. Jill’s children, on the other hand, are forced to spend time with Jill, due to their isolation and Jill’s control of them. As a former teacher, I have seen all kinds of families. I have seen wonderful traditional families and dysfunctional ones. I have also seen many wonderful non-traditional families. One of my best parents was a lesbian raising her ex-girlfriend’s special needs niece. She was a better parent than Jill will ever be. Jill is so threatened by anything that doesn’t fit her narrow views and, IMO, uses her interpretation of the Bible to justify her fears and ignorance.
  9. Wasn’t there supposedly a diary where Kate wrote about being physically abusive to Colin when he was very young? Was it ever determined if the diary was real? 2 incidents I remember from the show where I thought Kate was unfair to Colin. They weren’t abusive, but the first seemed unnecessarily harsh and the second just made me feel badly for him. I’m sure there are other examples but these are the 2 that I remember: First, when Colin was around 3 and got gum on his teddy bear and she yelled at him and threatened to throw the bear away and Maddie stepped in to defend him. I’m not describing it well, but I remember him being very distressed. Second, it was Kate’s birthday and they were on some sort of trip. Kate gave each child money to buy her a small gift. Colin really liked a small figurine, I think of an animal, but it cost more than he had. He was so sweet that the shop owner gave it to him for a lower price. He was so proud to give it to Kate, but I remember she was very dismissive of the gift, even though she gushed over all the other kid’s presents. I also remember her treating Alexis worse than Leah and Hannah. I think things probably improved for Alexis when Hannah left, at least I hope Alexis stopped being the scapegoat when Hannah fell out of favor with Kate. It’s interesting to me that Colin and Alexis had behavioral problems at school when they were young. Did they develop problems because they were Kate’s scapegoats, or were they more difficult children which caused Kate to dislike them more than the others?
  10. Here’s the latest. I’m not sure what to think since it’s from the Daily Mail. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8744785/Kate-Gosselin-accused-physically-emotionally-abusing-16-year-old-son-Collin.html
  11. Jon’s side of the story. I tend to believe him. I have a sibling who was diagnosed with a personality disorder back in the 1980s. She pulled stunts like this in her teens and 20s several times. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8723281/Jon-Gosselin-denies-hes-investigated-abuse-Collin-claimed-hit-him.html
  12. Collin accused Jon of physical abuse. It sounds like it was one specific incident last month. There was an investigation but it doesn’t sound like Jon will face charges. Eta: The people.com article is apparently an exclusive interview with Kate about the situation. The other articles I saw mostly quoted from the People article. https://people.com/tv/kate-gosselin-son-collin-gosselin-accuses-dad-jon-gosselin-physical-abuse-investigation/

This is an interview from 2016 where a reporter asks Djokovic if he is concerned that he might hit someone with a ball one day. I hope it’s ok to link to Reddit.
  14. I rarely notice eyebrows unless they are overly lined/darkened or unless they are overly shaped like the Rodrigues girls, thanks to their stuck-in-the-80’s’ mother.
  15. That’s how I always pick my favorite teams. Who cares about loyalty to home-city teams or about the players on the roster? I only cheer for teams with politically incorrect or culturally insensitive names. Doesn’t everyone?
  16. According to the people.com article, they didn’t know each other before making the video. Unless a romance developed during the filming of the video, I think Heather is safe.
  17. I’m not sure if it’s the only sitcom to say that, but Ross said “ Did you see the kid on that nose?” about Janice’s newborn son on Friends.
