  1. I thought Joe was going home. Glad he stayed. He and Rodman are my favorites, but I thought Joe wasn't as funny as usual tonight. I didn't find Nikki that funny, but my husband thought she was one of the strongest. I thought Rocky was pretty funny until he finished with that weak 'verb' joke. Lachlan was good, but I have a hard time warming up to him for some reason. Every time I see/hear him, I think someone must have hit Jerry Seinfeld with a 'pretty stick'.
  2. I thought this was a huge improvement also, but it felt like it was 10 min long. There were a ton of commercials. I have teens so I could relate to the technology issue. Mine are old enough to remember the library, but one of them had to make a call on our landline recently and thought it had a 'send' button. I thought the library scene was really funny. I like that they gave Farkle and Lucas some depth. I think my issue with Lucas is that he seems like a great crush for Riley, but I don't think they have any chemistry as a couple. I wonder if Farkle will actually end up being more like Topanga than Minkus- kind of odd in season 1 , but eventually Riley's first real love. Finally, I don't think I like Corey as Riley's teacher. If the show is about a girl learning about the world (although I'm thankful that wasn't mentioned constantly this episode), it's harder to have that happen when her dad is always there interfering and we don't see her interactions with any other adults.
  3. The old guy at the end had me cracking up. The song wasn't even that funny. It wouldn't have worked if the dad comic had done it for example, but the old guy's whole look, persona and delivery combined made it hysterical to me. What drives me crazy is that the judges appear to put through a bunch of acts ranging from awful to mediocre. Then they suddenly seem to remember that they are supposed to be looking for a million dollar act, so the next few bad-average acts don't make it through, then they forget and start putting the bad-average acts through again. I know they show the acts out of order, but the selection process seems so arbitrary. I think the end result is that way too many acts go through. I'm glad the auditions are over. I enjoyed the first few, but the last few have only had my partial attention.
  4. I thought it was cute and kind of a hybrid of BMW and icarly, or Drake and Josh but with female leads. I thought the girl that played Riley sometimes reminded me of Madeleine Zima when she was on The Nanny. Riley's mannerisms and facial expressions sometimes seemed similar to me. She is cute though, and I think a great casting choice to play Corey and Topanga's daughter. Farkle is annoying with none of the nerdy charm of Minkus or other similar characters. Definitely the weakest character and possibly casting choice to me. Also, the scene where Corey jumped all over the boy just for sitting next to Riley in the cafeteria was too over the top for me. Ben Savage's nose was also really distracting to me. I have no idea if he had surgery or if his nose changed naturally as he aged. I've known people that has happened to, but it was so different that I couldn't stop focussing on it.
  5. I have teenage boys and can't get through an episode without hearing at least 3 or 4 times how hot they think Mel B is. They don't find Heidi attractive at all. They thought Heidi was much older than Mel B and were surprised to find out they were almost the same age. On a related note, I showed them a picture of Howie from St Elsewhere days and my 15 yr didn't recognized him at all and totally couldn't guess who he was.
  6. Regarding Dean's suicide threat: I personally don't believe it. He loves himself way too much to kill himself. I do think he would push Tori out a window though, if he "thought he could get away with it". I guess what I'm saying is I think he is both a narcissist and a sociopath. Tori seems to be a narcissist and a basket case. I feel like I just watched a demented version of the Breakfast Club.
  7. Hi. First post. Another TWoP refuge. I hope this is ok to post: The Willis kids are the grandkids of the couple who was kind of at the center of the license for bribes scandal here in Illinois. The grandparents lost their 6 youngest children as a result of an accident caused by a truck driver with an illegally obtained license. I read that the family does not want this used as a backstory on the show.
