  1. she does have a wicked wit. I love how she turned things around on those state senators with Larry King's help. Brandi would be so out of her league (not that I want BrandI to come back). Plus I'm sure she'd have a few things to say about Brandi's rape comments. I also like that she seems like she'd be an unconventional housewife, but not in a weird desperate way like Carlton. Eta: I also agree with nexxie about getting rid of Brandi and giving Joyce another chance. I'd be fine with that also.
  2. I'm Greek Orthodox so we don't celebrate until next Sunday, but Happy Easter to everyone who is celebrating it today!
  3. I would love to see Allison Arngrim as well. Her autobiography blew me away. She comes across as the complete opposite of Brandi and Kim. There is so much warmth and humor in her book, even though she has had a tough life. I don't know if she's very 'BH', but she seems like a smart, fascinating person, which I guess makes her too good for this show.
  4. That's what I think BrandI seems to do though. She turns on the charm and hooks up with an older 'sugar mama', first Lisa V, then Yo, then Leeza. She gets what she can from them, whether it's material things like the shoes Yo bought her, connections, or just tagging along and enjoying the nice things the older woman's lifestyle provides. When the older woman finally realizes that she's really just a manipulative loser, she moves on to the next sucker/victim. Basically, she's Cedric with a tampon string. Edited to correct punctuation.
  5. One of my bunnies was 6 lbs so not much smaller than your dog. He looks like a sweet doggie. That's a great picture!
  6. Unfortunately, no. I'm sure they are magnificent though.
  7. Me too. Once when my son was little, I helped chaperone a field trip to a farm and spent most of the time petting a big, beautiful affectionate hog. (I love kids too though. I'm a former teacher.) I like reptiles and amphibians too, but horses are my absolute favorite animal.
  8. I have a golden mix now. She's 1/2 golden and she's a great dog. I also have a 16 month old German Shepherd. I'm hoping to make her a therapy dog. My best dog ever was the rescue my husband thinks he picked out. We think she was a shepherd/golden/hound mix. I love cats too, but my husband and youngest are both severely allergic. I also had several rabbits that thought they were cats. They were really cuddly! They were potty trained too.
  9. If he is resistant, just do what I did. There is a website called petfinder.com that tells you what animals are available at shelters near you. I just kept leaving pictures of cute doggies open on our desktop computer until he weakened. I finally caught him filling out an application. I didn't let him know I had seen him. I let him 'surprise' us when he told us the application was accepted and they were calling to schedule an interview. we got to adopt the pup and he thought it was all his idea!Eta: I guess I can be as passive/ aggressive as Brandi sometimes, but at least I try to use my powers for good!
  10. My oldest is like that. He has always been very independent, but has never been afraid to acknowledge me or show affection in public. My youngest (16) gets embarrassed to do so in public. The funny thing is that his best friend affectionately calls me 'mom' and is usually the one to yell "hi, Mom!" when the two are together with a bunch of other kids and they see me.
  11. One part that bugged me was the discussion about Lisa R's supposed anorexia. Andy asked BrandI if she thought Lisa was anorexic and BrandI said something like "I would never judge or label her as anorexic, even though she doesn't eat in front of me . " She made a second similar comment. It was typical passive/agressive, manipulative BrandI bullshit (Unless Brandi is drunk or angry, then she drops the 'passive' part. ). Instead of calling her on it, Andy said something about how Lisa judged Brandi even though Brandi wasn't judging her. What a joke. Andy was definitely going easy on Brandi in that scene, imo. Fortunately, Lisa saved the day by outing that Brandi did call her anorexic in a text.
  12. . No. Thank you so much! I'll read what you posted in Yolanda's thread and give my dr a call! Thanks again!
  13. I was wondering something similar. I have a non-specified connective tissue disorder. (one dr said lupus, one said sjogren's, but I don't hit all the blood test markers for either) I'm also in the middle of menopause and I feel a lot like Yolanda has described, both physically and mentally.
  14. Thanks, LVmom we did. Such a senseless death. I try not to dwell on the details, but on the happy memories, like the cat story. I have a rescue dog now. She's only 16 months and still has a lot of puppy energy. She is a good dog overall though and very affectionate. She's my 2nd rescue. I'll take her over any of the nasty human beasts on this show any day! Lol. I'm very thankful for this board and website.
  15. Thanks walnutqueen. He was a great person and, in spite of his lack of knowledge about cats, a brilliant man. He was also a wonderful mentor to my son. We were lucky to have known him.
  16. All this talk about cats and dogs reminds me of a funny story about a family friend. Unfortunately, he was killed by a drunk driver, but this story told at his memorial service made us smile. His boss or supervisor rescued a group of feral kittens. Although our friend had never owned a cat and knew very little about them, he offered to foster them. The kittens had colds and required a lot of care and medications. A few days after taking them, he made the mistake of letting them out of their crate and frantically called his boss because he couldn't catch them. He finally caught them and began to get the hang of caring for them. A few weeks later, he called his boss again, very concerned that several of the kitties had developed a rattling in their chests. He was convinced their colds had turned into pneumonia and that they needed to be taken to a vet. His boss had him hold one of the kittens up to the phone so she could here the rattling sound. As she listened, she realized that what he was hearing was not pneumonia but purring. The kitties had become comfortable with him too! He was killed shortly after that, but his favorite kitten was given to his family. It seems as though there are a lot of animal lovers on this board who have gone above and beyond to help them. Thank you all so much! It's great to know that, for every irresponsible and ignorant pet owner like Kim Richards, there are people like all of you.
  17. One other thing regarding Alexia and the dog. Kim claims she told her not to enter the bedroom but, imo, unless there was full disclosure (something like "Alexia, don't go in my bedroom. The last person who did so was seriously attacked and ended up having to go to the hospital"), then Alexia had no idea how dangerous it was to enter. I don't think there's any way Kim gave her adequate warning because Kim didn't want anyone to know how dangerous Kingsley is.
  18. What bothers me about Kim blaming Alexia for entering the bedroom is this: If my dog had already mauled an 80 year old woman (or anyone else for that matter) in my bedroom, then I would make damn sure that I locked the bedroom door anytime company came over. Either that or keep the dog in an area where it might not be as protective, not where it sleeps with Kim. The protective enclosure sounds like the best place but even somewhere else in the house with a locked door would have been better, imo.
  19. I posted this once before, but I think the only pet Kim should be allowed to have is a pet rock.
  20. Plus women go through menopause at different ages. I know a couple women who started in their 30s. My mom was 50. That's not always a good indicator of aging. BrandI is absolutely middle aged and it's killing her. The fact that she's a few years younger than the other HWs is the only area she has where she can feel superior, but she's such a loser compared to the rest of them (except Kim), that no one cares. I would hate her also, but she's not worth the energy that would take.
  21. Brandi's obsession with menopause reminds me of the movie 'Logan's Run'. Brandi acts like she thinks all women should be terminated once they start menopause. Of course, in that scenario, it wouldn't occur to her that she will soon be one of those women, so she would have to go on the run, hopefully far away from my TV set. Her tampon string would be flying behind her because, even though she is now a menopausal mama, she feels naked without it. The whole time, she would be yelling things like "hypocrites" and "STFU" Ok, I probably shouldn't post the crazy thoughts that pop into my head late at night. Going to bed now.
  22. I'm going to watch since it's only 8 episodes and the teacher doesn't seem to be a horrible human being like Abby. I think it's only 8 episodes because, if I understood correctly, they put this group together just for the show. The teacher is a former dancer, which is a refreshing change from Abby, but it sounds like she has never taught before. The kids were brought in for the show. Maybe 8 episodes was all they were willing to commit to, especially the teacher. Either that, or they will see how it does and then decide whether to order more episodes. I don't think it will do well because of the lack of advertising (which I find odd) and for the same reason imo Miami didn't do well: I don't think the show works as well when there is no previous relationship or connection between the girls or between the moms. We'll see. I've pretty much stopped watching the original so this is a nice alternative, especially since it's a short term commitment.
  23. Sending thoughts and good wishes to persnickety and prettybird. I'm sorry for everything you both are going through.
  24. Did anyone notice that. In the swing set scene, Lisa's daughter's outfits changed? At first one daughter was wearing a Khaki skirt and the other one had black shorts with like a scalloped hem, then it switched and both had black or blue shorts on. Then it switched back briefly and then back to the black shorts again. I am usually really clueless about continuity errors, but that one really jumped out at me.
