  1. I watched the episode tonight, and I also found her FB page dedicated to this episode. She’s lost a total of 250 lbs as of November 2023 and looks really great. I wasn’t sure she would do well at first, her background story was so sad . Happy endings are nice .
  2. Wow , it’s actually true that Pumpkin and Josh had twins last month? She’s only 22 and already has 4 kids plus custody of Alana? I might be a terrible person for saying this , but I think it’s time for them to close up the baby production permanently. This show and paycheck will not last forever and neither of them is educated.
  3. Isn’t June legally blind ? This is probably why she isn’t looking at the camera when interviewed. I am beyond annoyed that she left her daughter to go meet up with another man, and one that also was an addict like Geno. Sugar Bear is probably off the show now. I don’t miss him or Jennifer at all. Pumpkin and Josh rule. I did like the fact that Pumpkin wanted to meet the boyfriend before inviting him to Alana’s birthday party. By the way , is West Virginia considered to be part of Appalachia? We just took a family vacation to Harpers Ferry for the first time Memorial Day weekend, and we loved everything about the area! Great scenery, restaurants, mountains, friendly people. Very different from my New Jersey home . Anyone know why Jessica isn’t working? Besides babysitting for Pumpkin, is she only doing the tv show?
  4. So it’s now been revealed that the 3 youngest daughters are home alone all day while Barry, Lydia, and Isaac work full time . Lydia helps with homeschooling the younger girls while Kim is off living in their various rental properties. The little girls are 9, 11 and 13. Isn’t there a law against them being home alone ?
  5. I’m still waiting for the media to find Barry’s first wife and talk to her. I think he was married for 4 years, no children. Was she the same religion too ?
  6. I follow Olivia on Instagram and she just posted that she and Ethan are in Paris for the next month. I don’t think she’s giving up on the marriage any time soon , definitely not as long as they have the tv show. Maybe they went there because this season has been kind of a snoozer for these two . Moriah hasn’t been too interesting lately either. Better enjoy it while they can , their show won’t last as long as the Duggars gravy train did.
  7. I can’t believe that I’m feeling sorry for Barry , but the younger kids at home are having a hard time too . They should be in school if Kim has checked out of being a wife and mother . Kim gets no sympathy from me , she created this family and isn’t it against their beliefs to divorce? Maybe Michelle Duggar should talk to her. Olivia pretending to be interested in the car repairs is just a fake storyline, but she went along with it . My husband does our car repairs as a hobby and he wouldn’t want me near his garage. Ethan seems almost as selfish as Kim. Moriah is still moping around and doesn’t look well. I agree she needs a better colorist and she should be careful that it doesn’t start breaking off . Micah and roommates are semi interesting, but he doesn’t have to talk about his love life , ugh.
  8. I’m starting to think that this show is really scripted. Ethan quits his job because he’s doing this show now . Nobody was interested in seeing Kim home with the kids so she’s got a dance studio now and Barry has to learn to do household chores. Moriah and Max breakup was over the top and dragged out for a storyline . Reality tv is almost never very good for those who participate.
  9. I haven’t read the third book yet so I really didn’t expect that Lena would leave her family for Nino, and I do wonder if it was for longer than 5 days. I saw how unhappy she was in the role of just being a wife and mother, it wasn’t enough for her . I do think Nino is manipulative but he understands Lena in a way Pietro does not . It wasn’t surprising that Lila told her not to leave her husband for Nino, but we see in the beginning of the series that Lila disappeared and didn’t leave a trace as to where she went .
  10. Episode 5 was hard to watch . I would have tossed out Pasquale and his girlfriend the minute they started with the insults. And then Lila decides to dump her 12 year old son for the summer ? No way would I agree to doing that unless it was my direct family, the kid barely knows them . And Lena’s husband isn’t really a nice guy after all. Not to mention the murders . Hopefully next week is better.
  11. Not sure if this was mentioned earlier, but I just realized that Stingray is the same actor who played Horace in the Cruella movie . Excellent movie too, imo.
  12. Here we go again, TLC. Why do they find people who have serious issues with their mental health and are food addicts and expect them to change and succeed with weight loss surgeries? It’s as bad as the Hoarders, those folks can’t really change either. And I say this as someone who has cycled in weight up and down 80 pounds, then 50, etc. The one thing that interests me is the friendship dynamic and whether or not it will lead to success.
  13. I feel like we’ve only gotten half of the real story from David . I’m thinking he won’t be successful in the long run. I really like Dr Paradise, and am wondering what happened to Dr Lola? She was really good with people on this show as a caring therapist.
  14. Hi everyone! After yoga class , my eating habit tonight was Fuji apple salad and chicken noodle soup from Panera Bread .
  15. I can’t believe that Tammy is going to live much longer. It’s so hard to watch what she’s doing to herself . Also, I don’t think Amy is going to lose weight after this pregnancy either . She may find herself 100 lbs heavier in a couple of years.
  16. Oh my . What a train wreck! I think Dolly said she was diagnosed with ADHD, oppositional defiance disorder and bipolar disorder, all in kindergarten? I thought that the last two couldn’t be diagnosed before adolescence. No wonder she was non compliant. Was she in special education as a kid ? I’m also wondering how her mother lost 200 lbs and what the dynamics were when Dolly was a little kid.
  17. Apparently I live about 4 miles away from Travis Clark’s family, though their house is double the size of ours and worth quite a bit more too. His father is an associate pastor at the Solid Rock Baptist church, also in Berlin NJ. I guess their family music ministry pays very well. Wonder if I’ll run into Katie at the local farmer’s market. I never heard of this family until I saw Travis on the show , though the church has been there over 30 years. The one pastor was on CNBC last year arguing that they should have been allowed to be open although New Jersey was under a stay at home order for 3 months. The church has a school and college associated with it .
  18. I think that due to Covid the past year, many of the patients who started with Dr. Now didn't get in to see him, so they are working with whatever footage that they have. So far, no one in this season has even qualified for weight loss surgery. It was very strange the way Shannon carried her weight. I don't hold out hope that she's going to end up qualifying either. Her husband obviously married her to become her caretaker and I don't see that dynamic changing after 10 years.
  19. I just started watching this show about 2 weeks ago, going through season 1 and now I'm caught up. Missed it last year due to working overtime at a job I've now lost due to the pandemic. Anyway, my observations are that I think at least half the show is somewhat scripted. I think that Moira going to live with her grandparents was actually likely to be her parent's idea, since they had ongoing conflicts with her. It wasn't Olivia's idea. Also, the family is very friendly with another fundamentalist family, the Rodrigues family in Ohio. The one daughter, Nurie, was in Hosanna's wedding last year and then this year, she married Anna Duggar's younger brother, in July. So the Plaths must be involved with the Institution of Basic Life principles by Bill Gothard and they have gone to those conferences/church camps for a long time. I wonder if Kim changed to wearing jeans on the show to make herself seem more mainstream when their Facebook page from a couple of years ago shows all the girls in modest dress and promotes a CD that the family did. Maybe once Hosanna and Ethan got married, there was no more incentive to do the family band as the majority of the talent had left. I'm event wondering if Moira didn't actually live with her parents on season 1, but they just made it seem that way. I doubt she would have bought the skimpy clothes while still living under her parent's roof. The trip to San Francisco was probably scripted by the producers as a storyline, not a wedding photo shoot by Olivia. Speaking of Olivia, I don't see her and Ethan staying married forever. She's eventually going to grow tired of him and find herself another man. Their marriage was probably rushed because both of them couldn't wait to get out of their parent's homes. I've read that Olivia doesn't talk to her sister, and she seemed very much on board with Ethan cutting off his parents. I've followed the Duggar family and also the Bates family for quite a long time, and it doesn't seem that any of them have had the same type of conflicts with their parents, among the kids who have left home to get married. The only one is Jill Duggar (Dillard) and she does still seem to have a relationship with her sisters and to some extent, her parents. I remember reading that she and Derrick were also not allowed to visit their family at home unless Jim Bob and Michelle were also there. They also have made similar choices as Ethan and Olivia like drinking alcohol, dressing more mainstream and using birth control.
  20. I seem to remember years ago that it was Colin and Alexis who were expelled from their private school in kindergarten for being violent to their classmates and to adults. Maybe Colin has something like schizophrenia and has a hard time distinguishing reality from his own imagination. However, I don't think either Jon or Kate should win any parenting awards. . Jon shouldn't bash Kate to the media, that gets tiresome and it's not going to help his relationship with the rest of his kids. We all know what Kate is like and everyone is sorry for all of her kids. In some way, I almost think she's got the ones that live with her brainwashed to go along with her thinking. I hope the twins were able to return to college this fall. If it's true that Kate's contract with TLC was cancelled, and I believe she wouldn't lie about that since she was in court, then what is she doing for money? That house and the private school tuition isn't cheap. The twins might have college loans but day to day living is still expensive. Maybe she invested her money from the show really well.
  21. In regards to the 150 goal weight, it might be very hard for Lacey to achieve that after being obese her entire life, but not impossible. I'm 178 now at 5 ft 4 and people are telling me I look skinny. Granted, I'm in my fifties now and I could definitely use a tummy tuck, but my highest was 238 and it's a big difference from size 22 down to 14 now. I do like that Lacey really listened to Dr. Now and was approved for weight loss surgery right away. That doesn't usually happen on this show. She did realize that she had psychological issues that were going to stand in the way of surgery and I'm glad he had her see Dr. Paradise. Come to think of it, does anyone get to 600 lbs and not have psychological issues? I'm not being sarcastic, but it seems like there is always an underlying reason driving the behavior. I know my own personal weight loss battle that I had to cut out a lifelong love affair with things like sweets, peanut butter and cheese.
  22. I've missed a couple of episodes the last 2 years, but I'm really wondering something. How does Buddy constantly seem to have serious girlfriends? He's an alcoholic and addict and never seemed to have a real job except for bartender? I'm really scratching my head over this one. It seems like the Big Girls Dance Class has taken a back seat to the Buddy drama. I guess Whitney still does the classes sometimes . What does she do the rest of the time that she isn't filming this trainwreck? I remember her working at the radio station. Does she do anything else than chase after Buddy?
  23. This show is becoming a bit predicitable, and i wish it was only an hour long. 2 hours seems too long to sit through watching people either make slow progress or slide backwards in their weight loss. It is definitely hard work losing weight, but not impossible. I've gone from 237 to 175 since March of last year on a medically supersvised weight loss program, under a doctor and dietician's care and using 2 meal replacements and one lean/green meal a day, and now only 15-18 lbs from my goal. There are definitely permanent changes I realized I had to make. I used to love cheese, peanut butter, and sweets like cookies/snack cakes and now I barely eat them, except on rare occasions, and even then it's a limited amount. Over time, I don't get as hungry as I used to, and my blood sugar and blood pressure are now normal. Once these people lose a significant amount of weight, they shouldn't be as hungry either. Their continued overeating is simply a behavior that they need to address and take steps to correct. Find other things to do, like walking, hobbies, join clubs, anything that doesn't revolve around food.
  24. I just realized that I posted in this thread about a year ago. At the end of March, I went to my local hospital and asked to join their medically supervised weight loss program. In almost 10 months, I have now lost 62 lbs with approximately 15 to go, possibly another 10 after that if I feel I can keep going. The longer I stay on the program, the slower the weight loss is so I've had to mix it up with more exercise and lifelong habits now like almost completely cutting out high calorie foods like cheese and peanut butter, Occasionally I'll have a couple of cookies but it's much better than when I was having ice cream or snack cakes nearly every day. I've dropped from a size 22 down to a 12 and my blood pressure is normal, pre-diabetes is gone. I feel 20 years younger.
  25. Well, we finally know where Randall and his family live. Alpine, NJ is in Bergen County, close to New York City. I remember in season one where we were all trying to figure out where William lived and now that we know it's Philadelphia, no wonder it took 2 hours on the bus back and forth to their house. I liked seeing Toby's backstory and hope he stays on his medication and continues his therapy. I was a little surprised to find out Kate did get pregnant. I have to admit, I like seeing the kids as teens even though every story line has some sadness to it. They do seem believeable by those actors as teens and it's kind of fascinating.
