Maybe I'm just cynical about politicians, but I don't believe for a moment that the candidate was not aware of the extent of her campaign manager's crimes. She saw an opportunity to throw him under the bus and took it. Not that I blame her, but I think her actions were much more calculating than altruistic. She knew a scandal was about to break and her best path forward was to distance herself from him. I kind of hope we get a follow up where we find out that she knew all along.

I propose a new drinking game where you take a shot every time one of the shops passes a FedEx truck. They should have brought in Tami Taylor to handle talking the kidnapper down. She'd have had Julie, I mean Rita, down in a heartbeat. All in all, I thought this was one of the better episodes this season. So, now that Chen and Jackson have completed their probation periods, will they be getting new partners? I guess Jackson has to since Lopez has been promoted. Will Chen and Tim stay together? Will we see a new batch of rookies joining the force?

That would be my default setting for Kate.

Well, that was anti-climatic. Who knew that an Iris speech was all it would take to make a super villain see the error of their ways? Yawn. Chester seems totally unnecessary. As far as I can tell, his only contribution is with the tech stuff and they already have Cisco for that. My eyes rolled so hard when he said that, I could almost here my Grandma telling me that they were going to freeze that way.

This is officially my favorite Arrowverse show!

Especially when they clearly showed drier land on the embankment.

I won't pretend to know anything about the shooting schedule for this show, but I presume (especially given the long break) that we are now seeing episodes that were shot after people started getting COVID vaccinations. Since health care workers were among the first to receive vaccines, why has this show made no mention of the staff getting vaccinated, or that vaccines were available? I was never a huge fan of DeLuca, although I didn't dislike him as much as some of his more vocal detractors here. Still when Glasses, Helm, Maggie, Maggie's boyfriend whose name I haven't bothered to learn, the Leprechaun, Teddy, Owen, Jackson, Catherine, and The Sun are still around, I don't think killing him off was the right move. Of course, the silver lining is that I (hopefully) won't have to listen to his "that's a spicy meatball" sister anymore.

I can almost hear the writer's room discussion: Writer #1: "Hey, here's an idea. Let's take two of the most boring, ill-conceived characters on the show and build an entire episode around only them." Writer #2: "Let's then add a third character that the audience has never met before, but then kill him off so the audience will have absolutely no investment in his death." Writer #3: "That's the ticket!"

S01.E03: The Perks Of Not Being A Wallflower
Bulldog replied to scarynikki12's topic in Superman & Lois
I'm actually kind of loving this. Highlights are definitely the family scenes. The super-hero stuff is just icing on the cake. -
So, this patient believes she has a disease as serious as Huntington's and never bothers to have a doctor confirm it? Of course, this same patient apparently thought it was a good idea to marry a man who chose a red velvet dinner jacket for his wedding attire, so clearly her decision making is not the best. I thought for certain that the new resident was faking her medical credentials. Did Voss commit a major HIPPA violation by telling Cain about Rose's diagnosis? I also have to wonder if Voss isn't skating on dangerously thin ice with the ADA by so quickly discounting Cain's chances of recovery and returning to the OR. Now, clearly he cannot perform as a surgeon currently, but to shut him down at this point seems perilous legally. Especially for someone who not long ago was "the face of Chastain." If he still couldn't perform after his PT, she'd be safer cutting him loose then. And Bell encouraging her to cut him loose when, not too long ago, he was facing medical issues of his own that were endangering his career as a surgeon seemed very hypocritical. Of course, Cain's still an asshole. So, my sympathy for him is very limited. Conrad and Billie were really infantilizing Nic. She's an intelligent adult woman. If she says she doesn't need someone holding her hand 24/7, listen to her. I can see how running an unlicensed clinic could endanger Mina's medical license. But, would they really care about her romantic relationships? I guess I might could see not getting involved in a patient (cough, Izzy/Denny, cough), but I fail to see anything wrong with her relationship with AJ. Heck, if this happened on Grey's, the entire hospital would have to shut down.

Like some others, it took me an embarrassingly long time to realize that Daryl was speaking of Rick and not Merle when he said he had lost a brother. As someone who used to actually ship Daryl and Carol (something I almost never do), I'm amazed by how very little I care about either character any longer.

I've said many times before that Grace & Judd are my two favorite characters. I absolutely refuse to believe that they will kill either of them off.
-
For me, the two heroes of tonight's episode were 1) the flight attendant who got drunk and slid down the escape hatch, and 2) the homeowner who pushed the guy off the roof. Not sure what that says about me, but there you have it!
-
Its probably very wrong that I laughed as much as I did when the conjoined twin told Grace that he and his brother weren't that close. Its probably equally wrong that I laughed as much as I did when the redneck blew himself up in his homemade minefield.

Didn't they say that IA had rented out the entire hotel and that everyone on the property had to be cleared by security to protect the IA officers identities? If so, wouldn't that mean that the kid either worked at the hotel or had a relative who was at the convention (likely a parent)? If the kid HAS to stick around then I really hope his parent(s) are police officers just so he'll be outed as a little snot nosed hypocrite in front of all of his little snot nosed classmates. I suspect he'd burst into tears if Miss "Defund the Police" tore into him.

I think it was Roger Ebert who used to talk about how shows (or movies) wouldn't introduce characters if they were not going to come back to play a bigger role later. The minute Robin first interacted with the doctor, it was obvious he would play some larger role in the story.
-
I think they are.

PLEASE don't let that annoying group of college students become recurring characters.
-
I thought this was the best episode yet. The daughter still irks. Any chance there is a boarding school in her future? I like everyone else.

This show comparing itself to Succession has to be one of the most unintentionally hilarious things I've ever seen on TV.

Did not expect the ending with Merilee and Rick. I especially loved that when the hospital staff was rushing into the room, the deputy who had been stationed outside the door while a murder had just been committed, just stood there and held the door open for them instead of going in and doing . . . anything? I have to give props to Brooke Smith. I think she's really been the unsung MVP of the season thus far. The extended Tesla commercial in the middle of the show was a choice. Who would have thought that Montana, with its vast open roads, would be home to so many vehicles that require an electric charge to run. The director was really in love with the shot of that truck running off the side of the road. So, are we going to get two mysteries per season? Looks like when it returns in April, there will be something of a reboot. That might be from necessity given that they have killed off half of their cast in just nine episodes. I know this is based on a series of books. Wonder how many books there are and if the storylines will continue to follow the books. Super detective Jenny couldn't tell the difference between a dead adult woman and an alive 12 year old boy? I think I kind of love this show and all of its over the top insane glory.

This. And this. Perish the thought! Was I the only one expecting Kevin to announce that they had named his son Nicholas Randall Pearson?
-
I did like that Randall's story about Kevin began with him coming home wasted and Madison acknowledged that she was having two babies with an alcoholic. I thought it was a very realistic touch. With the previews of the next episode appearing to focus on Jack's drinking around the time they brought their babies home, I wonder if Kevin's drinking will be revisited again.
-
Count me among those faked out that the couple was Miguel's parents. The wife even called their son "Mike" near the end. (Maybe their son's real name was Mike. Did in say in the end scroll?) Loved Beth telling Randall to tell Madison an interesting story and not something about him running for city council. Admittedly, its been years since our kids were born, but would they really have women in labor masked up while giving birth? Rose might be pissed that her husband gave away one of her favorite pigs when she's released from the hospital. My thoughts exactly.

That was . . . interesting. Not particularly funny, but interesting.
