  1. I don't think giving Conway a platform is helping anyone. I am ok with GOP angles on this show, I actually think it's important to have varying opinions on issues, Conway though is whole different caliber. She's a bad faith actor and is spinning everything. You can't argue with her, and nothing she has to say has any real value. Don't give her the platform she craves.
  2. I don't get how she is so terrible at this. Like, repeatedly. The curtains in the loft for privacy were impractical af, since there were broken up by the water sprinkler and a huge beam (that'll leave a huge gap). Jeez.
  3. Bill's dismissive "go to other countries like Germany and you'll see it's even worse there" reeks of not really looking into the issue. Sure, on paper abortion is not legal in Germany, however: It's decriminalized if you follow requirements: - The woman needs to declare to want an abortion - Go to a mandated counseling session to get paperwork that this session happened - wait at least 3 days between counseling and the actual procedure - The procedure has to happen before the end of week 12 after conception - It has to be done by a doctor - It has to be a different doctor that did the counseling session So sure, there are many hoops to jump through, and one could argue it's a bit extreme and involved. That said, access to all of these are fairly easy to get, it's not like there's only one counselor and one doctor in the country, they're available in every city from what I could gather. So I guess my point is - sure as a law, abortion is not allowed in Germany, but there is a process in place for access to safe abortions which is what this issue is about in the first place.
  4. To add to this: The Airport they landed at was Berlin (though clearly not Berlin). That's such an odd choice, because it's nowhere near where they needed to go. I'd expected Frankfurt (plenty of direct flights and sort of centerish of Germany), Cologne, Düsseldorf (both closer to Eschweiler), or even Brussels of Amsterdam, as they both seem to be closer than Berlin. Such a weird choice.
  5. Grandmother talked about heathens. I suspect she's Sol in the before times, and humanity moved off planet at some point.
  6. You gotta love the way they showed it's New York - there's a marquee for a show called "Cat Pirates" (or the other way around). It's hilariously bad.
  7. I got some serious Adam Driver vibes from Mamoudou Athie (Dan). His voice, the way he speaks, some of the physicality. Besides that little tidbit. Interesting show that really fizzles out at the end I think. I like the narrative idea of going through old video tapes and learning more bit by bit that way. Visually it had some interest, but story-wise it jumped the share in the last 3rd I thought.
  8. Knowing how Goodman looked in 1993 (so Matinee era), seeing him here was bizarre to me. It looked like prosthetics around eyes, nose and mouth. To me he looked younger, sure, but it was a weird version of him. I feel like his nose changed from back then to now, and that throws me off.
  9. I looked up the physical restrictions for that particular jump: So I guess it might've been weight, might've been something else as well, since they were athletes.
  10. YES! That sausage thing that's happening is so gross. And I like Goodman. A Lot. But this is just yikes.
  11. I wonder the same. This last episode was a display of mopey people.
  12. 3 minutes in to the latest episode and there is already a huge editing issue. They show the British kid being out on a Guernsey, show wheels moving "medic! Medic!" and cut to the kid being fully intubated. I'd think you'd show that process for eek factor.
  13. I figured these are goons that are infected by the Aliens (similar to the lady in Space) that are trying to stop the Dragonglass thing to make it to Pentagon. But I might be completely off. It's super confusing and makes no sense.
  14. The way the writing has been, I wouldn't be shocked if Sam Neil shows up as the Alien HiveKing in the final episodes as the spokesperson for the Aliens.
  15. Trevante is insufferable. He's arriving in London and the first thing he shouts at a random person is "get me on the next flight to the US". Like... You have not noticed that there's a crisis going on have you?
  16. This show is so frustrating. Most of the characters are incredibly unlikeable (except for the Japanese arc). The American Soldier is completely unhinged. The British bully is such a cliche and I feel like what he's done in the canyon is incredibly removed from reality. The family... so the mum goes on a loot quest, and gets a side-quest to help out as a doctor. She shows up, does one thing, then leaves. 2 Episodes later, they seek shelter, and not 1, but 2 characters recognise her from the earlier interaction (bearing in mind this is all high-stress, high-turnover type of stuff - it's a crisis). Crazy. She's probably also the most passive-aggressive character I've seen in a while. The dialogue as well... jeez. She's cooking burgers. "I didn't know you could cook" - Dude, she made your girlfriends insta-dinner to the T out of pure passive- aggressiveness. She can cook a burger. But she's not cooking 4 burgers, one for each of the party. No! She's making double cheeseburgers for the kids. "How am I supposed to eat that"? How indeed...
  17. I felt like he's been phoning it in lately. The businesses they showed were more for the trainwreck factor rather than solid businesses that needed help. So I am somewhat glad, that this is ending.
  18. I think this episode number is wrong. I think this is S08.E08. And thus the last episode this season? This seemed like a solid deal and company. Many things to branch into, but they needed someone to focus them onto one product first, to grow the business properly.
  19. This show... I've been saying that the writing is pretty bad, as in, it's all based around "how can we create conflict in the most convenient way". The problem with that is, it feels so incredibly forced. - The conflict at the art foundation doesn't pull any weight, because we have no real idea WHY the Nunez family has been so bad for the artists. - Alice's conflict is such an easy one to fix - just say nothing to report. It's not that big of an issue Bette Porter's smugness annoys me. She gets everything she wants, because she's Bette effin Porter. Finley... how the hell did you get into that condo building in the first place? I am pretty sure a place with that view and luxury has a door man. You weren't really close with Dani - how did you know she lives there? And pissing in the hallway? Yikes. Also - Maribel - your partner is trying to put in effort to learn Spanish, don't put them down with "don't ever do that again". So disrespectful. On a shallow note, I think this was the first episode this week without any sexy time (aside from the previously montage) and hey - this is good. We don't need to see these characters to hook up every episode.
  20. Question for the Beware Advantage: So each tribe has one of these. It only works if all 3 are found. Until that happens, the holder can't vote. Does that mean, that had they evicted Xander, would they have nullified 3 idols and potentially kept 2 people from having votes? Because if that's the case - vote him out stat.
  21. The first episode this season that wasn't a trainwreck. Seems like a solid business.
  22. All of this. It was essentially an exercise in "how can we do drama through misinterpretations of actions". Super high-school. "You talked to this person! I thought you liked me!" *sigh*. I think this show's writing is really focused around artificial situations and convenience. It's so over the top.
  23. I agree. That said - it felt like she was a bit more into the boarding/training business, and not the leash one, so I could see not being fully into the numbers. Then again, be stumped once, but then know your stuff. Because this was not a good look, and it's such an unforced error on the owner's part. I also thought it was interesting that she struggled with a 50/50 split - keep your boarding/training business, it seems to do very well, and then take the leash stuff to the moon with Marcus. Win/win in my book. He knows what's good, and his interest ultimately is getting a return on his investment.
  24. I sent the company a question via their website, we'll see how swamped they'll be after the show. :)
  25. Derek F saying it correctly sounded super weird, as if production was futzing with it.
