  1. I'm not huge on bible quotes but that passage from Luke about evil things done in the dark being revealed in the light is powerful, especially in a situation like this. I think the second quote was a dagger right towards Jim Bob and all of the people who covered for Josh at the expense of the four girls. It felt like they were talking to JB in a language he would most understand and feel victimized by.
  2. I can see how Jill (and Derick) felt that way. I put myself in Jill's shoes and I can see this trial as the final goodbye to her relationship with her older brother and the death of any trust she can have in her father (and possibly her mother too). Those two things alone must be gut wrenching for her. I didn't see it as stomping in anger so much as I saw a woman on the verge of emotional collapse desperately trying to get away from the cameras while she was still able to manage a stoic demeanor.
  3. Given everything that happened today outside of just deliberating--picking a jury foreman/woman, possibly taking a preliminary vote, organizing the evidence and how to attack it, viewing the video, and probably ordering and eating lunch--I didn't expect a verdict today. I won't feel panicky unless they end tomorrow without a decision, and even then I still think it's ultimately a guilty verdict.
  4. Any chance the authorities would consider other suspects ended when Genius Criminal Josh asked, unprompted and for no reason, “has somebody been downloading child porn?”.
  5. I enjoyed the heck out of both shows despite the flawed casting. A big chunk of my childhood childhood revolved around watching DIff’rent Strokes and Facts of Life. Silver Spoons was in there somewhere too! Anyone know why Nancy McKeon didn’t make an appearance. I don’t recall hearing she passed on so I ask assuming she’s still alive. Lisa has aged like fine wine. It was sad when Todd Bridges acknowledged the passing off all his co-stars. I knew they were gone but hearing their names reminded me of how much time has passed.
  6. And the first time that became clear to other jurors during deliberations it would be reported and would probably trigger a mistrial.
  7. Or just Anna. She didn't download CSAM or molest her siblings. Nobody from her family has bothered to travel from Florida to be by her side. From all reports Anna is well loved by the Duggars. I don't think it's strange that he sits with her and I don't see it as an endorsement of Josh.
  8. You may not have an answer but I have to ask, especially after some of the details that came out Thursday. Was anyone involved in the creation of that file ever caught and held accountable? I’d like to at least know the people who harmed the infant, and the couple who videotaped their abuse of the 7-8 year old (well and all of the perps really), were caught and prosecuted.
  9. Plus there is nothing being testified to today that is relevant to anything Jill will say. She won’t be “tainted” if Derick tells her what the FBI did at the car lot because that’s not what she is testifying about as a witness. Now, if Derick is there when Bobbye Holt testifies that would be different-and I would assume it means Jill won’t be called.
  10. Jill would be able to testify because she isn’t clergy. The past acts are usually admissible in a case like this but Josh’s defense was trying to say Bobbye Holt was clergy and therefore what she heard was confidential. In the end it’s a moot point but the prosecution had to plan for every possibility.
  11. What makes sense, re:Jill, is she was the backup plan if Bobbye Holt wasn’t allowed to testify. I initially thought she would testify to verify what Holt says about the abuse of Joy; what makes more sense is she agreed to testify as a witness to that abuse in the event Holt was blocked. I don’t think she’s needed now and won’t be out on the stand (unless she has voiced a strong desire to the prosecutors that she NEEDS this for her own healing. In that case she’ll be the government nuclear weapon in court).
  12. I know, I know...fundie logic. I didn't factor that in to my thought process. The likelihood that he was caught the only time he attempted that specific act is slim to none, and that's sickening.
  13. The fact that Jim Bob and Michelle saw nothing wrong with Joy being on his lap, after so many inappropriate and abusive behaviors Josh had demonstrated with her older siblings, is mind blowing. That does not demonstrate taking his behavior seriously and attempting to protect the kids. The younger children should have been off limits to him based simply on his past deeds.
  14. I think Jenelle would get Lot 4 and Kody would get lot 1 with the pond. Was Robyn getting lot 5? I couldn’t keep track of it all.
  15. So Chip’s big plan to get closer to Alex is to put himself in her apartment and almost guarantee he’ll contract Covid?!
  16. The babysitter? Is there any possibility that one of his sisters-Jill maybe-would testify for the prosecution regarding his past behavior towards her? The real nail in the coffin would be if Joy testified. She was only 5 when he abused her. I can't see her doing it, even if she believes he is guilty.
  17. Dear Maddie-something you take that kills you appetite and also gives you "boundless energy" is an amphetamine. You are basically making yourself a meth smoothie.
  18. I never heard there was an issue with Axel? Is he delayed?
  19. The Italy stuff didn't work with the timeline if the story is going to be people are mad at her for going to a "hotspot." Early March 2020 was still life as normal and people wouldn't have been up in arms about Alex traveling to Italy because of Covid. Now, traveling to see Mitch would be a different story as it would undercut Bradley's assertion about Alex making a mistake "10 years ago." I feel like if they wanted Covid to be a big part of the story they should have started the season the first or second week of March rather than February 2020. I assume they'll do a time jump for season 3 (hopefully the show gets picked up) rather than focus on remote working, Zoom, etc.
  20. This was easily the best episode of the season for me. It was frantic, emotional, and well acted. I wish the scenes with Bradley’s brother showing up at UBA had been part of a different episode but the acting (and accompanying music with “The Boxer”) was exceptional. This felt like the Emmy submission episode for this season with Jennifer and Karen Pittman being stand outs.
  21. Oh my gosh it actually happened. After all the disrespect she’s taken from Kody I have to believe his dismissiveness about Ysabel’s surgery and his obvious favoritism towards Robyn (it really came to the fore during 2020) was a breaking point. I’m so glad she has Aspyn and Mykelti to help her adjust to a new life. Hey TLC a spin-off called “Christine’s New Life” better be in development!
  22. We’ve seen her take the kids to the library and read them books. The “book character” day was more about an excuse to let the kids dress up at school for Halloween without inflaming the religious right. Pistol Pete is part of their family history so it makes sense for Derick and Izzy to bond over it.
  23. I totally believe it because those kids are inundated with Bible study and memorization by their parents. No outside friends, no real school, and a dad who thinks bonding time means acting out scary Bible scenes to his toddlers. It’s religion 24/7 as Jessa and Ben doom their children to mediocre -but pious-lives.
  24. I don't think they are rehabilitating him so much as laying the ground work for him to die from Covid. I think the video he did with her for "practice" will ultimately be released, causing problems for UBA. I'm also ok with him showing remorse and having scenes that may or may not elicit sympathy. Very few people are 100% bad or 100% good. How his character is seen within the show is going to be different depending on the viewer.
