  1. So...he isn't an entitled dick for risking the whole universe for his personal desires?
  2. Yeah, Wanda didn't do it There is a difference. A pretty huge one. Especially since you could have told the very same story, but with Dr. Strange just not being ready to give up his hands. Though, really, it would have been a way more interesting what if. if Dr. Strange used all of his powers to make his hands work again, just like this other guy did with his legs. Why not tell a story in which THAT was his decision, with all the consequences.
  3. One thing for sure: There is apparently nothing more dangerous to the MCU than heroines/love interests of heroes dying too early.... Gamora dying lead to the snap (both because Thanos got his hand on a stone and Quill loosing his temper) Hope dying lead to all Avengers getting killed by Hank Pym. Christine dying lead to the destruction of the universe. It is really a good thing that Peggy died of old age.... (Frankly, those stories say a LOT about the mind of the writers and how they see the relation between men and women...apparently it is impossible for men to stay sane without some women holding their hand in their mind).
  4. Honestly, this episode was just p.. me off on every level. For starters: Apparently it wasn't enough to fridge Christine multiple times, they also basically declared all the help she gave Dr. Stange in the original timeline meaningless. To be completely clear here: If Christine had died, Dr. Strange wouldn't have survived either, because there wouldn't have been anyone to electroshock him back to live. She isn't just a tool to motivate him, she is someone with important skills needed to aid him. Second: Levi would have never stayed with him if he had acted out that much! Way to dismiss a great character just because it is a cloak! But then, they discriminated against pretty much everyone in the franchise.... Third: If you want to tell such a bleak story, fine, but then don't announce the fact at the start of the episode. I was so bored because I knew that would end up in the destruction of the universe. Oh, and fourth: It is not really convincing that Christine dying is an "unchangeable event" because she clearly didn't in the timeline we know. If you do time travel, you need to set rules and stick to them, no rewrite them whenever you are in the mood.
  5. And here I was wondering why they did pretty much all the themes of those shows somehow (or used the more popular theme form the Hulk TV show for Hulk), but skipped the Thor one....
  6. But Natasha was an original Avenger...plus, the was Peggy was treated for the sake of Steve's supposedly happy end was annoying as heck, too.
  7. Well, they did a great job with Nebula. But yeah, there is still an issue there. It's not even that they killed Natasha, it is the way they did it, with her basically taking second place to Tony's sacrifice. Anyway, it annoys me when The Take does those surface judgement of Captain Marvel, because there is so much more to the movie than that.
  8. The view of The Take on Captain Marvel was the reason why I stopped subscribing to them. They were basically missing everything what made Captain Marvel great and now they still don't get that Captain Marvel isn't simply about overcoming obstacles, but about the fact that even a capable women ready to fight her way up, and who has succeeded to do so in the past, can fell victim to the kind of toxic messaging which society (in this case Kree society) pushes on them...and that the best way to overcome it is the help of other people, especially other women (in this case Monica). I agree though that my excitement for ANY prequel about a character I already know is automatically low. That was always the issue with the notion of a Black Widow movie. Oh, and I actually enjoyed Iron Fist overall, especially the second season. I really want to see a Danny and Ward movie/show. But I guess I was one of the few who didn't judge the show before it even aired....I mean, it HAS it's problems, but it's basically the same kind of problems I have with all Netflix shows.
  9. The difference between Agatha and Wanda was, that Wanda wasn't really aware of what she was doing in the beginning and mentally in a bad place. Agatha apparently killed deliberately her own mother and she could have stopped Wanda all along, but she didn't because she wanted power. That makes her a villain and Wanda not.
  10. You know, the dress she wore in the show was actually nicer...and that is a low bar to stay under. But it's great that they all look so happy.
  11. I kind of thought that it was Hydra interfering and that Ghost was the assassin...close but no cigar. In any case, I liked this one better than the ones beforehand because it felt like an actual butterfly scenario, BUT it actually felt like too much time was spend on Fury loosing the avengers, and not enough time on the consequences of it. And I was kind of missing the big emotional moment. There was no real grieving over any of them. Also the big Hulk incident actually happened on a Saturday according to The Incredible Hulk.
  12. Religion is certainly a sticking point, but it is kind of idiotic because the kind of Afghani who would flee from the Taliban are hardly religious fanatics.
  13. Biden can pretend as much as he wants that nation building was never the goal, doesn't chance the fact that this was the pretence under which the US convinced other NATO partners to lend them troops. The whole thing will most likely have a cascading effect in European politics. Not that Biden seems to get it....
  14. Well I guess currently it is easier for her to get married in England than to flow out her family for a wedding in the us....
  15. If someone gave him the name, star prince would have made more sense....
  16. I don't care either way, I guess. I look forward to getting surprised.
  17. Argh...don't get my hopes up. It would be such a huge disappointment when this doesn't pan out.
  18. That's the thing: The is NOT what child Peter Quill was. He was the child who got a black eye because of some frog. Quill was always a hero at heart, but years with Yondu supressed this tendencies, because he had to f... survive somehow (not to mention that he dealt with the trauma of losing his mother). There is no reason to think that T'Challa would be treated any differently than him. Or that he would somehow get the nickname Quill claimed for himself mostly out of sentimental reasons. In addition, Quill is actually pretty smart. It's easy to forget considering that he is surrounded by a genius like Rocket or a super fighter like Gamora, I can't see him staying willingly in a place which has so many bad memories for him once he became an adult.
  19. That was slightly better than the last one, but it didn't really work either. I mean, yeah, it was kind of fun to imagine that T'Challa would turn the world around, but none of it made sense. Not that Yondu would keep T'Challa after kidnapping the wrong child, not that T'Challa would be some sort of messias, not that Thanos turned around...though I guess I could have lived with all this nonsense just for the fun to have Korvath (or however he is called) fanboying and Thanos being through and through weird. But what angered me was that the female characters got the short stick AGAIN!!!! I mean, who cares about Gamora, Shuri or Mantis, right? And what they did to Nebula...what the hell was the nonsense with the blonde hair? And I think I heard Lindsey Ellis screaming in anger from afar when they got to the "you have to forgive Thanos" subplot. No, just no!!!! Even if he changed, it wouldn't change what he did to HER! Nobody should push anyone into forgiving an abuser, EVER!
  20. ...Siri is certainly not listening on my phone. Which is basically turned off most of the time. But yeah, the whole thing falls under the "no recording without consent" rule...since Alexa is recording, you have to inform your guests, but they naturally only have the choice to consent or leave. And practically most people either don't know or don't care about such rules. To give another example, if you are calling on the phone an organisations which occasionally records phone calls, you are getting informed about the fact and you have the option to say from the get go that you don't want to be recorded.
  21. ...Not saying that they don't have their uses. But it is actually forbidden to run them in Germany without informing your guests for privacy reasons. Like, just because you can do it, doesn't mean you should do it.
  22. I now have a device in which Alexa is preinstalled (because it was my only option to get what I wanted) and annoyingly you can't just remove it, but I take a lot of care that Alexa is always deactivated and the microphone is NEVER running. Stupid things. I also have backups for everything. And yes, I am kind of sick and tired of those people screaming about freedom when I know that their stupidity is basically taking MY freedom away.
  23. Yep, pretty much. Though usually you give the key to someone you trust. Male chastity is a kink with a number of sub-kinks, but the idea to give the control to a computer is really eerie...some people might even get off the idea that this thing can be hacked and they might end up in the control of some dastardly stranger. Mind you, I doubt that they would enjoy it actually happening, but some people might like the fantasy of it happening. Regarding Afghanistan: I am not sure if I am angry about the troops leaving, but I AM angry that they didn't evacuate properly beforehand. What is happening now is so predictable.
  24. The scary thing is not that those anti-mask mandate people exist, the scary thing is that there are states who legislate following their nonsense. It is btw only a matter of time until those half-vaccinated societies breed a new variant, and that one could be very dangerous for children. The Ransomware thing makes me think about the various books and movies created around this topic decades ago. As usual, fantasy was faster than technology, and now we have to deal with an entirely predictable problem.
