  1. But the show claims that there aren't any alternate universes but one sacred timeline they protect. Like, the moment one Loki strays of his path, he should be picked up and deleted (or whatever they do with variants).
  2. My Problem so far was more, that the start of every show was better than the ending. Not that the ending was bad, but it felt like a let down every time, especially compared to the kind of finales AoS managed to churn out (on a way lower budget, I need to add). I hope that Loki will buck that trend.
  3. Yeah, the point of the MCU is that there is something for everyone, not that everyone is supposed to love everything in it.
  4. At this point I am officially confused...I thought that they would explain how there could be that many vastly different Lokis despite them sweeping up every variant which strays apart from the "right" path pretty much the moment he goes in the wrong direction, but now we have a Loki with an entirely different childhood...how does this work?????
  5. Honestly...didn't really work for me. The quibbling got old pretty fast, there was little meat in the actual conversation, I am actually by now kind of confused how there can be that many different Loki's when they are brought back on the "right path" as soon as they stray away, and was anyone honestly surprised by the relevation that the staff of the TVA are actually variants? Makes more sense than any other explanation.
  6. ...honestly, the "it's the infinity stone" theory was hokey from the get go and certainly didn't fit anymore once the last commercial was aired.
  7. All the dog shaming going on in the episode...I mean, yeah, it looks like a walking wig, but that doesn't mean that a walking wig is ugly. (thus said, dog shows are imho a big pile of nonsense anyway, I never really saw the point of awarding the most useless dog out there - useless because often what gives the dogs big points are things which make it difficult for them to move). I wonder what kind of lobbying was necessary to make PACE yet another rip off. But I am also wondering how the "your house borrowed it" nonsense worked. A house which has no longer a loan on it is the greatest thing one can have, the last thing I would want to do is, well, put a loan on it. (Regarding the rent vs buying question...depends. If the laws which protect the renters are strong (not the case in the US, but in some other countries), it can actually be a good option, especially if you don't intend to settle down yet. On the other hand, property is overall a pretty good investments if you choose carefully. And which choosing carefully, I mean: Don't buy a house in the suburbs, but a nice little house in an area with great infrastructure, yeah, that is worth the investments. Just consider that a house always comes with a lot of costs).
  8. Yeah, but he is the one who made it truly cool.
  9. Point is, there is actually very little interest in the fandom to pair Thor with Valkyrie. Or Sif, for that matter.
  10. Question: Why is this one animated Time Keeper looking like Thanos?
  11. My thought was "Climate change is really a bitch, isn't it?" Anyway, another interesting episode. I especially loved Loki learning about Ragnarok and how it juxtaposed with him shit-talking the Asgardians beforehand. All this said...I actually don't think that Loki's goal is to take over for the time keepers or anything like this. Loki is never that straightforward. My bet is on him planning to change the timeline, so that Asgard and his whole family can continue to exist happily.
  12. Frankly, I don't care what is written in the comics, the way Sif and Thor are in the movies, I don't want them to be together. Thor has known her all his life and never had any romantic feelings to her, I really don't want them to push the message that some guy will eventually fall for you if you are just patient enough.
  13. Fans are fine as long as they are used to transport cooler air into your room, and there is also the old trick to put some ice in front of the fan, but otherwise they are completely useless. Especially when they are hanging from the ceiling. I never really thought about it, but keeping a prison cool much be a very special challenge. I mean, the walls are quite thick, right? This is both a blessing and a course, because thick walls can be pretty good in keeping out the heat, but they are also make it nearly impossible to get rid of it once it made its way in. Ideally, you would shadow the windows by day, so that the air can still flow but is cooled down a little bit before entering the building, and open them by night, when it becomes colder outside. The problem with a prison is, though, that it is pretty much impossible to create a proper airflow with all the closed doors, unless you actually think about it while building that thing. Oh, and regarding the cartoberfest: It is really, really difficult to offend me. I have kind of accepted a long time ago that American's confuse us either with Bavarians or Nazis. But those commercials really put it on the next level. For one: Oktoberfest is actually celebrated in early November. Two: Those dresses were - a choice. Three: Yeah, we Germans love cars and beer, but that doesn't mean that we love to combine those two. Four: What was this strange dancing supposed to be? We do a lot on Oktoberfest, but square dancing is actually not a feature. The traditional Bavarian dance is a proper Schuhplattler! Five: We don't talk like that! Six: We serve a proper Bratwurst in a proper bread roll, not some sad hot dog in a nasty bun! Plus Bavaria is Weißwurstland anyway.
  14. If they paid attention they know how little interest there is to ship those two characters together. Honestly, there are more Valkyrie/Loki fics than stories with ship her with Thor, and most of the time she gets paired with a women anyway.
  15. Top Pizza topping is clearly Pineapple and ham (not necessarily in that order). But honestly...whut? One would think that there are currently more important things to talk. Did anyone also pay attention to the expressions of the people behind the sticky lady? A nice variety between being stunned about so much idiocy and second hand embarrassment (or as we would say in Germany, Fremdschämen). Maybe the same way I felt about the obsession with "mother's milk"...really????? Now the prison segment...sadly nothing about this surprises me in any way, it fits right into the other segments LWT did about Prisons (which are quite a collection by now). Dostoyevsky once said that you should judge the degree of civilisation of a society by its prisons. If you do this for the US, then the US is still extremely backwards and barbaric. Especially if you compare their system with Norway, Sweden or even Germany. For the record, a prison should absolutely be comfortable. The punishment is taking away your freedom, not to put you in years of hell.
  16. I think it was supposed to mean "fanon" (basically stuff fans have widely agreed to be a thing and which sometimes either becomes canon - i.e. Bucky killing Howard - or at least being acknowledged by WoG - i.e. Peter being the little boy Tony rescues at the Stark Expo). Thus said, I don't think that Thor/Valkyrie is in any way Canon. She clearly has zero interest in him, honestly she seemed to be more into Hulk than him. And Sif, well, that is canon, but only as a one-sided thing, and Sif has never actually sabotaged any of Thor's desires in any way.
  17. Or whoever is in charge dropped the ball...I mean, they decided on one timeline and basically created one where half of the universe (does this include them?) got destroyed, and there was only one way to fix it, which was the one which would destabilise the timeline.
  18. And even if we explain Steve away somehow, there is still the "no Thanos" timeline. How is THAT now a huge variant?
  19. To start this: What I find confusing is that there is supposedly one sacred timeline, but as far as we know, there are already multiple timelines split due to the actions of the Avengers. I mean, even if Cap was meant to go back (which...yeah, terrible notion of him pretending to be a nobody in a timeline knowing fully fell that at the same time Bucky gets tortured somewhere), even if Tony talking to his father or Thor talking to his mother didn't have a ripple effect, and even if they somehow deleted the Timeline Loki created by escaping, there is STILL a timeline which now has no Thanos and his army. How do you clean THAT up? And that is before we get to AoS, which also created a second timeline for sure. Also, if the world of the Time Keepers is basically happening out of time and they are travelling around in time, wouldn't all variants happen at the same time for them? Or is their world basically happening parallel to the main timeline and there is a point to which they can't travel?
  20. The place to discuss how time travel and multiverses in the MCU actually work, and what the implications are. All time travel which happened in the MCU goes, but naturally the focus is on Loki.
  21. To be fair, it would have happened anyway. There just would have been a second timeline, where it didn't happen.
  22. I don't quite get the logic to plug out the Variant instead of resetting him....
  23. Except that Loki didn't chose being influenced, while Walker took it willingly.
  24. I enjoyed Loki. But then, I have a thing for shows which give characters their time to develop and challenge each other.
  25. She actually said that just being too late for work can turn you into a variant....
