  1. I hate to seem callous, but maybe if more of these people die it will give others a reality check that there are serious - no-turning-back consequences to getting that size.
  2. Before this latest "Where Are They Now" I do remember them breaking up on the last episode of the Couples follow-up show that I can't remember the name of. I give them credit for continuing to try, and that Laura is adorable!
  3. This 100%. I was raised strict Catholic and said about a million rosaries and guarantee that you will never, EVER walk into a Catholic church and hear this kind of rosary praying (except when TLC cameras are rolling maybe). Also, I went through the Catholic marriage annulment process. It's a long, deep dive into why you should never have been married in the first place. Mostly they concentrate on why you were unable to make the best decision for marriage and not so much what happened after the wedding, unless there was abuse which, in my case did not happen. There was no official cost, although after it was granted I did receive a letter indicating how much it cost the church to process everything and a "suggestion" as to how much should be "donated", which I ignored. I had no children from this marriage but they did mention that the annulment had no bearing on the legitimacy of children born from this union. Meisha is going to be even more disillusioned than Amanda when she meets her "love" in person. She will be turned off by his ordinariness and poverty. Amanda walks holding hands in public with Razvan as if her dead husband is going to jump out of the bushes and yell "AhA! I knew you were cheating on me!" No wonder she wants to run home so fast, she looks like she's so nervous she could puke at any instant! Jasmine is pretty smart to rent such an extravagant apartment so that Gino will HURRY UP and get her to America! Be careful what you wish for, sister! He's so creepy, I don't know how she can stand to kiss him. When she was "clawing" at his face I shivered.
  4. Harold is head-over-heels smitten! At first his date seemed homely to me but upon closeups, she seems to have a nice face and wonderfully compatible personality - a match! Fingers are crossed here. I don't like Susan at all. I am rooting for her to go home alone. Chad is reality teevee gold, I'm afraid.
  5. This man, so damaged, so sad. I know other Vietnam vets and what they went through is just unthinkable. War sucks. That parade was a little sad but a very nice gesture, and it would be nice to know that Jim at least finds himself able to enjoy other vets' company at the VFW. Sadly, he's a hoarder, always has been, always will be. I wonder if the show will ever do an episode where they come back and de-hoard a second time? I know they have done follow-up episodes, but really, we all know it's only a matter of (short) time before the city/township orders him to clean out once again.
  6. As much as I wanted to hate Steven, I get that all's fair. Maybe producer/editor shenanigans, but Steven looked like he felt bad. Gary is really impressing me with his people skills, but in the end I'm rooting for Matt to win, although I won't be mad if Gary does. I get leg cramps and felt Matt's pain, it feels like someone/thing is bending your bones in unnatural directions.
  7. I actually was surprised that this was interesting to watch and agree that the moderator was well prepared and asked good questions. Tristan (I had totally forgotten who he was) came on only to clear the air about the backlash he received for saying something about not wanting a wife with darker skin tone than his. I had forgotten about that and couldn't help but think "be careful what you wish for" because his match Mia was probably in the top two or three worst MAFS participants of all time (albeit the right skin tone)! The resulting discussion about how women are allowed to have certain physical preferences for a mate, but when men do it's frowned upon, I found eye opening - I never thought about it before. LIndsey (bad dress) actually has some good observations but her delivery turns everyone off and no one hears what she's trying to say. She reminds me of the Debbie Downer skits on SNL - no matter what question is asked of her, she turns it into an attack on someone else. I totally agree that Mark/Shark was there for all the wrong reasons - no excuse for them choosing him after applying every. single. season. Steve always seemed purposely evasive like he was hiding SOMEthing, and never really seemed that engaged in the process. I really like Mindy and wish her the best. This show felt like dessert after a very bland main course/season.
  8. Ugh, Pillow Talk is ridiculous and pointless, just STOP!!!
  9. I'm not sure I follow their insecurities. He's afraid that if she finds out it's going to take longer than originally expected, that she will dump him and find someone else. How does that help her to get to USA sooner? She'd just be starting all over again at square one with someone else, right? And, how does this dude have anything to do with how long the visa process takes anyway? It is what it is, I don't think the applicant has any power over the process.
  10. Ugh, I realized when watching this episode how little I really care about these empty vapid mannequins. Terry looked like he was wearing a scary plastic mask! Actually, now that I think about it, they ALL look like they're wearing scary plastic masks! Pretty sure I'm out on this one, along with NJ, ATL and MIA.
  11. I'm rubbing my palms in anticipation of the elimination challenge mentioned coming in next week's episode.
  12. I never thought I would live to see the day that Tammy would actually make any progress toward a healthier lifestyle, but I thank her for proving me wrong. I wonder if she saw the gates of Hell when she was in a coma and that set her straight.
  13. Wow, thanks so much for digging that up and sharing! It was enlightening but I have to say, I prefer the "before" look. But nothing can help the "I fell asleep while my toddler had access to a sharpie and used my face as a canvas" look.
  14. I think it has a lot to do with the participants. Most have issues which bring them to this drastic point, but their issues remain so they are destined to fail. The rest just come on shows like this for exposure. It's rare to find individuals with normal personalities who are actually invested for the right reasons.
  15. I was incensed at Kwame for not taking Kasia (I think that's her name?) to his home, he is SO slimy!!! Mr. "I'm a very private person" goes on *international* tv to get married, but can't let his "wife" see his home. Surely Kasia can NOT be as daft as she appears! All her sisters - literally EVERY BODY tells her that Kwame is no good and she still appears to be considering him. I miss at least half of the dialogue due to the accents - what the *&^& was in the jar on Zoe's kitchen counter??? Pickled - what???
  16. Matt is generally strange and weird - I find myself focusing on his hair, which appears to be, um, textured? braided? cornrowed? I've never seen anything quite like it before. It reminds me of a wheat field.
  17. And she had the nerve to get all pissy and defensive when someone mentioned her lack of tact in that regard on the aftershow.
  18. It will take me a while to remember names, but the young lady who has never been on a date - how does that even happen??? I guess in this day and age, so many relationships take place virtually so it's unique to actually meet someone "in real life" and, go somewhere and do something.
  19. Just caught the first two episodes on Discovery +. I'm in - we have quirky unmatchable singles and "expert" matchmakers with good reputations to uphold. Throw in a language/culture barrier and sit back and enjoy!
  20. I think I saw a hint of something like that in the preview. Having Jeff do a medical tap would be the perfect solution.
  21. I just have to throw this thought out and get it off my mind - why does everyone seemingly assume that Stacey doesn't have what it takes to win this thing? I recall many an episode where the male of the pair taps out and the woman makes it to the end, so it's not THAT far of a stretch. I get a creepy gut feeling that the others are trying to kill two rivals off with one tap, a win-win for everyone except Stacey.
  22. I went to bed when Pillow Talk started. Then, I got to thinking "What actually was Shaq's answer?" I thought I had already forgotten. When I woke up this morning I thought "Oh yeah, Shaq said no". Came here to confirm and now I see that it was actually a cliffhanger. I wonder if my sleepy subconsciousness was right ? ? ? ?
  23. My rapidly fading memory of this two-hour sh*tshow is that none of them were appropriately dressed to be sitting outside on the farm in the middle of the day. They seem to be dressing for the red carpet at the Oscars.
  24. Gary is just gross. And, ditto what everyone has said about Jeff.
