  1. What a godawful beyotch Ramona is! (um, preaching to the choir here?) Thank you Ramona for donating some necklaces, but the time to negotiate sponsorship signage is well BEFORE YOU SHOW UP AT THE EVENT!!! How utterly stupid. What did she expect Kristen to do, take a marker and write something below Yummie on all the signs? How stupid. Yeah, Heather can go too far at times, but I do love her ability to shut the shit down when appropriate. If I was dating a published author, I would definitely want to read their work. I started to get bored with Dorinda and Carole's airport convo but then realized how conditioned I was as a RH viewer to expect random inappropriate fighting at every turn. I settled in to listen and was so touched by the vulnerable openness to discuss their painful losses. Fresh Air!!!! I, too, saw the Heather grin in her children for the first time at that birthday party. P.S. Anxiously awaiting receipt of my Yummie goodies from her recent HSN sale!
  2. I was surprised to see a new episode pop up on my DVR, I thought this season ended in time for the XL season to start. I didn't realize there would be an overlap. This couple seemed very uneven in terms of skill - the green beret did it all! He was a great partner and they seemed to get along quite well. Quite a drama-free episode.
  3. I'm really disappointed the show brought Honora back, she simply does not belong on this show. Her personality is more suited to a "Real Housewives" show. I watch this show for real survival drama, not the manufactured psycho stuff. It seemed to me like she wanted to tap out but didn't want to give the guys the satisfaction. She was laying in the sun to deliberately get sick enough to be carried away again. She also had the attitude that "if I'm not going to make it, I don't want anyone else to make it either". This is seriously immature behavior not suited for a survival situation. Did I miss something? I thought that one of the ladies on Shane's team was near death at the end of last episode, but she looks fine this episode with no mention of her recovery.
  4. I was surprised to enjoy Kathy Lee and Hoda as much as I did. The two ladies actually seem to be good personal friends and were quite entertaining. I don't watch their daytime show so I had no idea about their personalities. Andy seemed to enjoy them as well. Andre Leon Talley gives me the creeps. No wonder he's good friends with Anna Wintour (sp?). How can someone who walks around dressed like a carnival tent have any fashion credibility? Creepy, creepy, creepy!
  5. I nominate Nev, Max and Felesha for the Nobel Peace Prize cuz, seriously, that could have gone so very, very wrong. Nev and Max never cease to make me feel like I'm emotionally stunted because I am never, ever as compassionate as they are to these crazies. Nor do I ever think to look behind what may be causing these people to act so maliciously. Oh, how I hope the people in that daycare get their children out FAST. It is so very scary to think about young innocent babies being in her care.
  6. I'll throw my guess in at 5-6 finishers. One already gone in the first few days with a couple others on the brink. As another woman, I think it would be cool to see the all woman team finish intact. Watching the three alpha males I did have a thought that they might want to out-alpha-male each other and overcompensate or take an unnecessary and possibly foolish risk just to show off. (hmm, smirk) On the other (female) side, I wonder if that mindset had anything to do with Eva slicing her finger open. The four camps seem fairly close, I thought it would be funny if Dani stumbles upon the wrong team and the crew has to intervene and say - "Wait! Wrong team! Go THAT way!"
  7. I bet that Alana was praying for Danielle to make a swift recovery so that she would not be left alone with Shane. I don't remember Shane's original episode, but from what I saw last night his bark is worse than his bite. He talks all crazy, but then goes out of his way to get some fruit for his ailing teammate. I was curious why Hakim's two teammates didn't do more to help him to get some water? They seemed to just sit with him and talk about it. Interesting that of the four teams, theirs seemed to be the strongest and they were the first to lose a member. Poor Hakim, felt sorry for him. Forgot her name, was it Honora? The one who tapped out previously. Definitely there for the drama factor. Maybe her teammates will leave her in the jungle....
  8. The way Kim was sitting in her interview with Andy, it looked like she had major hemorrhoids and had to sit sideways.
  9. The Dubrows fret over spending hundreds of thousands over budget the way I fret over $20. I just can't even imagine. Where did I go wrong??? Someone mentioned the house looking "institutional". I remember their last house looking the same way - Cold, high marble walls and floors that looked like a hotel lobby. I guess it's Terry's taste. It was great to see everyone leaving Megan's party and meeting up with Shannon and Vicki. And Vicki "I can't put my life on hold while the love of my life has chemo". Methinks Vicki and Brooks are in on this cancer farce together to amp up the storyline. How else is Brooks supposed to get camera time? If someone patted me on the head like Megan did her assistant, it would get real ugly, real fast. I just want Megan to go away, off this show.
  10. They said at the outset that the duration was 30 days, so they are about half-way now. I wonder if there will be a reunion show.
  11. I guess I can understand production for planting a docile pig for them to catch. If not, the show's run would have ended a lot sooner than planned. I was soooo sorry to see Earnest go, I really liked him and just didn't grasp the whole "missing my son" explanation. Something about his reason for leaving just doesn't add up. But, whatever. This show is actually getting a bit boring for me. I may just read here to catch up on what, if anything, is happening.
  12. Shame on Jennifer Bealls for not aging and being just as beautiful as she was in Flashdance. . . . I was a bit disappointed in the pilot, but it's early. I'll keep watching.
  13. Why do I watch this BS???? Shannon is cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs, plain and simple. And, it's not fun to watch someone simmer, bubble and implode like that. Tamra, no one cares about your boobs or your new found religion. Really. Meghan, meh, and oh, do you think just maybe it was producer's shenanigans to get her to confront Shannon about the phone call? Vicki, I didn't need to see your G-string/thong. Ewwww! The rest of the episode I didn't miss her at all. Heather with her "champanwah" and over-budget cabinets, please, gag me with a spoon (did LOVE her dress). Boy, does she ever love the spotlight! Did that bakery honestly want the free publicity to hawk their fake-cakes? Unbelievable. Really, I'm "this close" to chucking all of the Housewives.
  14. I knew that MAFS bumped it to next week, but didn't think about it possibly being on On Demand. !!! I'll be watching it tonight!
  15. How about this: The experts make the matches and introduce the couples. No marriage right away. They put up the couples in a two bedroom apartment (their choice if they want to sleep together) for a pre-determined about of time - a month, 6 weeks, whatever - they cannot sleep anywhere else unless it's part of a task/challenge/overnight date with each other. They cannot date anyone else during that time. During the course of the "experiment" they are presented with a set of tasks/challenges, i.e., prepare a menu, shopping list and shop for and prepare your own meals, including packing each other's work lunches. Another task would be to plan an overnight/weekend trip together, decide where to go, what to do/see. Another task might be to plan and host a family gathering so that their families could get to know one another. Do the same with friends. Create a budget listing who will contribute what amount to the monthly bills and also create a 5, 10, 20 year plan as well as a retirement strategy. I thought of a couple more challenges: They have to decide/agree on a pet who will live with them during this experiment, as well as perform a babysitting stint with two or more children under the age of two. At the end of the "experiment", if they can still stand each other, they will take a compatibility test to see what they have learned about each other, about their past, their goals, their likes and dislikes. Have the families and friends give feedback/ask questions of both of them. Then, after all is reviewed by the "experts", they can choose whether to apply for a marriage license and the experts will approve or deny their application. If approved, the couple must agree to marry within 48 hours. If denied, they go their separate ways.
  16. I don't believe the watch she smashed was from his grandparents. I think Ryan just said it was from his grandparents to make it look even worse.
  17. I haven't had a chance to read all the responses here yet, and I'm afraid that they will be coming in so fast I won't be able to keep up before I get my two cents in, so here goes: First, I LOVE Kevin Frasier, think he did an outstanding job! He sure beats the hell out of Andy Cohen doing the Housewives reunions and Dr. Drew with the Teen Moms. Jessica was wrong smashing Ryan's watch - BUT, he tries to make it worse by saying it was TWO watches, given to him by his grandparents with great sentimental value. I highly doubt that. And, Jessica replaced the watch. Jaclyn said that Ryan hurt her in every way possible, yet all that was brought up was that Ryan "withdrew". There's got to be a whole lot more that wasn't said. I think Jaclyn is way too good and way too much for Ryan. The experts put him in over his head. IMO, Jaclyn is dynamic and Ryan is just a regular guy. Sean and Davina - they are both at fault and just wrong for one another. I don't see successful relationships for either of them in their future. I was shocked by how hard the experts came down on Davina. My DVR cut off but there was a quick mention at the very end about "The First Year" aftershow continuing. Did anyone else catch this? I can't believe they would actually want to continue with this group, but maybe it was filmed before all the shitstorm started and someone forgot to cut that part before they rushed to air Part 2.
  18. I think that since Season 3's couples have already been married, they will probably go ahead with Season 3 and just edit the heck out of it. Depending on the outcome/success/ratings, they may or may not have a Season 4. If the ratings are good enough, even if Season 3's couples don't hit it off, they may try another season but with new "experts" doing the matching. I feel very sad about Season 2's wives. If they all went into this with open hearts, hoping for the love of a lifetime, all this manipulation and failure could really scar them and any future chances at a successful relationship going forward.
  19. Wow, they kept the absolute worst for this show! I'm curious why they didn't have any footage from the last show, with the rats (was that Thailand?). It was good to see Enora somewhat admit what a nasty person she was to her partner, and what a bad decision it was to bring a magnifying glass. I always thought they must really reek after just a few days of not washing and interesting that it was mentioned. Ewww about the monkeys peeing. But yes, the worst of all was the bug bites. I should not have watched that just before going to sleep, but I did really appreciate my nice soft, clean sheets!
  20. I was thinking the island was near Australia, only because one of the medivac rescuers called someone "Mate", which to me is strictly Australian. LOL, this would be an awesome theme for a weight loss show! Have the contestants find their own natural food. Note to future participants - wear pants with a drawstring waist! Does anyone know if Graham has done any more recaps since the first episode? I was hoping he would continue. I really like the behind-the-scenes individual perspective.
  21. My mom told me that if I turned up pregnant that I would be out on the street, alone, to fend for myself. I believed her. I had my first child when I was 33, after several years of marriage and had a mortgage of my own.
  22. I had no prior knowledge of any of these folks before this episode. Kerri is an Olympic athlete and would naturally have an extremely healthy diet. Normal people with normal diets don't win the Olympics (at least there didn't appear to be any steroid use!). In contrast, Tami's family appeared to have the very worst possible eating habits(agreed that Tami's physique looked like she's doing something right), so I could definitely see some room for improvement. At the level they appeared to be consuming soda and fried food I would agree it was poison. Although those shakes were green (I too have a problem with drinking green liquids), they don't always necessarily taste bad. But if someone is used to very sugary and fatty foods, their taste buds may be out of whack, or they may have been overacting for the camera. The camera cut away right after the first swallow so we couldn't see if perhaps after they had a few seconds to actually taste it they may have said "actually, that's not too bad". Did anyone else notice that Kerri's youngest, the daughter, seemed to be crying almost all the time? That kinda bugged me. Maybe she wasn't feeling well at the time. And, both Kerri and husband did have a weathered look to them, I wondered what their ages are. I sure hope they know enough to put sunscreen on those kids! I had no idea that going to strip clubs is normal. Seriously, really? Not in my world. While I appreciate the talent involved to work the pole, I have no interest in peering at a woman's girly parts as she shakes them in my face. Yeah, Tami and her beau seemed very hyper-sexual, as if their entire world revolved around it. Jazz seemed to be a very sweet girl.
  23. I'm wondering if Davina lost her security deposit on that apartment because of the damage left behind from chiseling all those stick-on stars off the walls, ceiling, doors, etc. I thought it was totally dumb to show them dividing up their "toys". Seriously? What a waste of air time.
  24. What was I thinking? I didn't know this was going to be a 2-plus hour event and I actually stayed up to finish watching, to my detriment this morning (also thanks to an early morning thunderstorm). Ugh. Note to producers: The only people who watch a season finale are those who have watched at least most of the prior episodes, so there is NO NEED TO REPEAT endless footage from the entire season, sheesh! Regrettably, I think the "experts" missed with all three couples, and I doubt any of them will make it a year. The most enjoyable parts of last nights' episode were the First Wives segments (oh, and I seriously want Courtney's earrings!). I hope they do better next season. I laughed when Sean and Davina were furiously packing up at the end, as if they had just robbed a bank and the cops were breaking down the door! It also gave me a feeling of the producers coaching them "We've run out of time for the show, but let's get one last scene of you guys packing - hurry!".
  25. My take on this character is that she knows that she SHOULD feel bad, but she doesn't. In fact, she's a little bit proud of how good she is at it. She's discovered her true talent but unfortunately it's doing something people would look down on her for (except her boss).
