  1. It was Johnny Carson: Skip to 11:30... Heh heh
  2. What is ... Cliff Clavin?
  3. Hey ya'll! I have always loved this show. The one-liners themselves keep me tuned in. My order of likability is Karen > Jack > Will > Grace Megan Mullally cracks me up. In any scene she is in. Wanna talk favorite episodes? One of my faves was "Past and Presents" S04.E02, this scene in particular. I laughed so much I cried: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UgPFgYdP6OY
  4. Karen: Gosh, I don't think I've ever been stressed out. I mean, why would I be? I got practically no responsibilities, my job's a breeze, and I got a killer rack!
  5. Ok, so I love all things British, I am avid watcher of things like Doctor Who, Monty Python, Sherlock, Downton Abbey, and yes, I was even into Benny Hill for a while. For some reason Call the Midwife isn't calling to me. I can't figure out why because it would be natural for me to follow it. So I ask you, peeps of this busy board, can you make me feel compelled to watch? I don't mind spoilers, and since I chose to put my comment in a Season 1 & 2 thread, tell me why I should start watching. ::giggle::
  6. This made me spew my water on my monitor. I wasn't prepared for that. ::giggle::
  7. So I was watching an episode of Frasier, and Daphne is supposed to be from Manchester, and she was making what she called "bangers", which she said were what we call sausages. Upthread we discussed that some pudding are sausages as well. What is the difference between a banger and a pudding?
  8. Finally watched...hmmmm, interesting. I am coming into this knowing absolutely nothing. I don't mind being spoiled so that doesn't bother me, but I find it immensely satisfying that this series will not be about the adventures of traveling through space, but instead, life on a space station. WOW, to think they had seven seasons dealing with life on a space station, that will prove to be fun to watch. Sisko, I could feel the emotion with the death of his wife, and at the person whose hands is responsible for it. I wasn't a big fan of TNG, (liking the movies more than the series), but Picard was ok. But like Ailianna, the whole scene between Sisko and Picard, well, if what they were going for was for me to instantly like Sisko more, well, the plan worked. I felt over all it was a great introduction to the characters (have always loved Rene Auberjonois, ever since Benson days!) and I am looking at how this all unfolds.
  9. OMG, I just saw this episode last night. The delivery makes this whole thing hilarious. Roz got interested and then when she realized it was a joke, her smile was priceless.
  10. Just the other day, I came across this article written by Mindy Cohn. I thought it was great. She seems like such a balanced person. And the story on how she got the part of Natalie was interesting.
  11. Can't believe it's taken me this long to find my way here. Is anyone watching Barney Miller these days? If so, where? Favorite episode? By far "Hash" was the funniest episode ever.
  12. Can't explain it, but by far my favorite character on Downton Abbey, second only to the Dowager. Maybe because I fell in love with her on Doctor Who (Harriet Jones, Former Prime Minister), but it really doesn't matter because I look for her parts in the show specifically. I love her view on the world, accepting change, and trying to do her part to make it a better place. I love her scenes with The Dowager. All of them.
  13. You know, Joshua Malina doesn't always get a lot of love in anything he does. At least I don't see it. But dang, I felt every emotion he delivered in his scene in Issac's office. He acted the heck out of that scene. I loved how Issac and Dana just listened as he told his story. Who does that anymore? At least in the work environment setting. During his speech, at a particularly hard part, Dana looks at Issac, and then gets up and sits on the window sill. I remember thinking the 2nd or 3rd time I saw this scene what incredible directing that was. I don't know the reasoning behind it, but I always felt it was a lovely way for Dana to let Jeremy feel comfortable to get it all out to the head honcho. Brilliant line from Issac: "If you feel that strongly about something, you have a responsibility to try to change my mind." Are there actually bosses like that?
  14. Poor thing, that isn't easy to watch or be a part of.
  15. Little late with posting the recipe, but here you go. As a note, I use Tones Garlic and Herb Seasoning in this. I think this is what makes this whole dip evil. You can make it with just regular garlic powder, but it never tastes the same, still good, but not evil good. Blue Cheese Dressing 8 servings (approximately 2 oz per serving) 5 minutes prep 5 minutes start to finish 1 cup sour cream 1 cup mayonnaise 1 tbsp dehydrated minced onion 1 tbsp Tones Garlic & Herb Seasoning (or plain garlic powder) 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp black pepper 4-5 oz blue cheese, crumbled 2 tbsp red wine vinegar Combine all ingredients and stir well. Best if you let it set for about an hour for flavors to meld. Enjoy!

    S05.E15: Bash

I think I might be in my own corner here, but I loved this episode. My 14 year old daughter has had a crush on Darren Criss FOREVER, and until tonight I didn't see it. When he sang "Not While I'm Around" at the critique (not so much in the hospital), I was like, OK, I get it. And not just his voice, but his overall appearance. Why in the world do they have to do what they do to him every other scene? Even his HAIR looked good. I hate it when they plaster it down, ugh. Mercedes rawked it on both "You Make Me Feel Like a Natural Woman" and "Colorblind" - I actually got goose bumps on that one. I don't understand the sudden love of getting New York street performers (the carousel thing) dancing in scenes. And Burt Hummel? I still want him to be my Dad. If they were looking for me to tear up, I did. And last but not least. Kurt. I get the whole bashing scene was there for us to know that Kurt is now a man. He is grown up and can take care of himself. And OMG, I LOVED "I'm Still Here" - I love it ANYTIME Kurt can sing on his own, I absolutely LOVE his voice, and how appropriate of a song to announce that nothing will bring him down. I am convinced more than ever from this episode that the way the writers write is they find the songs first, figure how they can fit them in, then make dialog that leads up to the SONGS telling the story. But that is just me. ::giggle:: Wasn't impressed with Rachel all that much, but I am not usually so that isn't new. Someone mentioned upthread how the whole episode seemed rushed, that one I would definitely have to agree, but I still loved the performances!
  17. As you can tell, Parenthood this season hasn't been must watch TV for me, it's there when I have time for it, and I got caught up with another episode last night. Sort of at a loss how to feel about this episode. I agree with someone up thread that I like Hank better than the Bravermans, at least right now. The whole Adam/Kristina/Max/Sarah thing ... ugh. I don't generally like anything Sarah is doing at any time, but I had to be on her side on this one. I am struggling with how to put my thought on that whole thing and using PC language, so maybe I should hold off a bit. But suffice it to say I have seen Kristina lose her cool with her son, why can't Sarah in the middle of an overwhelming time. Geesh. I do NOT understand the draw with Drew and Natalie. OMG. Seriously? Poor Drew, thinking he has to settle. Amber? What is up with her corrupting her brother? And going to the Braverman home stoned? And Sarah not noticing it? Actually felt something for Joel this episode. Happy he went to the Baptism. This is what is so hard about being an in-law with a break-up. You have made their family YOUR family for years and then all of a sudden, they are no longer family. It's just severed. It causes awkward moments. It sucks. I have lived it. Oh well, not one of my fave episodes, but I did certainly get the whole "Limbo" reference, so if that is what they were trying to do, then they got the point across.
  18. ::giggle:: I had the music channel on earlier, and I happened to look up to a Sting song at the precise moment it said on the screen that his real name is Gordon Sumner. Enter Twilight Zone theme.
  19. I am with you yeswedo, I felt as if Casey was hearing the story for the first time, or maybe how it was being told, which seems a definite possibility. Casey wins all the time for me, not by much though ... but I have a crush on Peter Krause, so it's not much of a competition.
  20. Oops, my apologies, the comment above belonged in the quotes thread... I remember the first time I watched this, how incredibly uncomfortable I was with the silence. What brilliant writing and direction. They so had me on the edge of my seat on that one. I could feel myself in the control room, and I thought it awesome that Dana didn't crack under the pressure. It showed that she had a connection with her sportscasters that went beyond producer. The way that Casey broke the tension was BRILLIANT. The chemistry between the actors was amazing to watch. I am trying to refrain from saying this was one of my favorite episodes, because I will probably be saying that to each one. Suffice it to say, I love them all, but right now, this is my favorite. HA!
  21. Since my comment is episode specific, I made a topic for it. I didn't watch HIMYM when it was live, in fact, my daughter suggested it about 3 weeks ago to start from the beginning since it's on Netflix. She had never seen it either. I know, I live under a rock. I said I would give it three episodes, and if I wasn't pulled in by the third, that it wasn't in the cards for me. Needless to say, I was hooked from the Pilot. We are in the second season now, and just got done with this episode, and I gotta say, this was some dang fine writing and totally hilarious. By far, my favorite episode so far. I about busted a gut with the ending, playing the Cheers theme, and having the credits run in the Cheer's font. I was like, how brilliant was that? And the set up of the hunchback guy creeping the girlfriend out, and the breaking of the picture, totally didn't expect it to be Lily. Really, they had me. I am enjoying this show, and although I am spoiled, it doesn't matter because the show is good. Really good.
  22. Ted and Barney try to convince Marshall that his new girlfriend is crazy. Barney gets a new nickname. (Description via Netflix)
  23. In "The Apology" ... Sarcasm, thy name is Dana. Can't tell you how many times I have used this line, substituting the person's name who I am talking to at the time. TOTALLY forgot it came from Sports Night!
  24. Ok Danny, that is pretty good. Yeah, there were cuts, but I agree with you, it was great. The sweet names she came up for each person that joined her world: For Josh: Sweet Pal of Mine and then Mi Amoire For Toby: Yes Ma'am For Leo: Leopold For Sam: Batman (you work alone?) Pure GENIUS!
  25. I remember the first time I watched the "Five Votes Down" episode, I thought the opening scene was a bit ambitious, and remember thinking to myself, dang, I didn't see any cuts. Come to find out, it really was ambitious, longest uncut walk and talk scene of the series.
