  1. In one of McGee's early episodes, they went to a house. IIRC, someone said the furnishings looked expensive, but McGee replied that a piece of furniture was a reproduction and/or a painting was a fake. The others gaped at him. He said, "What? Antiques Roadshow!" I'd like to find out what episode that was, and watch the scene again. I have searched YouTube with no luck. adTHANKSvance!
  2. Video: Fibonacci Sequence in Nature
  3. Thank you all. As of just now I can search my local PBS station's schedule through March 16 but "Wisdom" isn't there. If it doesn't show up soon I'll contact them and mention that I give them money. :-)
  4. Possible. At least they did not name this show after a main character.
  5. Thank you. I checked the local schedule for several days. Maybe this weekend.
  6. Is "Wisdom of the Dales" on the PBS site somewhere, so we can watch with Passport? All I can find are 30-second previews. I don't have any streaming services, but can watch shows on Passport on my laptop. Luckily it sounds as if "Wisdom of the Dales" is mostly clips that I have already seen.
  7. Has anyone written a fanfic of Charlie's job interview and decision process from Charlie's point of view?
  8. "There are eight million suspects in the Naked City..." [for anyone who has heard of the 1958-1963 TV series]
  9. Looking forward to Academic and Librarian Jeopardy!
  10. The video did not include the actor who plays Tristan, but Siegfried sometimes thinks Tristan is like Tricki, pampered and not having to work much.
  11. Video of the actors answering "Which animal [in the show] is most like you?"
  12. Did Elsbeth pay Chloe for her time? Or did she not have to because they later arrested her?
  13. Week 25: 2/5, no *. YTD: 80/125, 15 *.
  14. Did men in the 1770s really call those things ruffles? Of course Isaac was telling the story, so he would call them whatever he does nowadays.
  15. Thank you. I hadn't known that the show is based on a book. The Wikipedia article has more information.
  16. I once took an Esperanto class. That was one sentence they asked us to translate.
  17. Why does this show have a "this is fiction" disclaimer on every episode? Other shows I watch are equally fictional but don't have disclaimers.
  18. Did anyone get FJ? Please wave so we can throw chocolates at you. I was wandering around Asia in a daze.
  19. Which previous episode was Fletcher Voss in? Blood types: "Universal donor" usually refers to type O or specifically O-, but it's not rare, about 7% of the population. If they meant something else, they should have said so. Fundraising competition: A friend's employer had a similar competition. My friend's department fundraiser gave out pledge forms but didn't like the results, so he handed the forms back and asked the department members to pledge more. Most of the employees did not return the forms again.
  20. In British cuisine, what are sprouts? I expected something like Brussels sprouts, but the food didn't look like that. Glad Audrey had the family around her. How do families typically handle a birthday on or near Christmas or another holiday they celebrate? Jimmy is young enough now that they could celebrate his birthday on a different day.
  21. Many Australian pilots are jokers. I heard of one who boarded a plane (not in uniform) and sat in a passenger seat. A while after the scheduled takeoff time, he stood up and said loudly, "If that pilot isn't going to show up, I'll fly the plane myself." And he did. When I was there, one pilot announced, "Everyone sitting on the aisle, please pull your elbows in. I can't see out the back." So everyone looked back and of course there was no rear window.
  22. Exactly. If I heard right, they got "Jamie"'s DNA from a pizza crust or something. Why not ask him straightforwardly for a DNA sample?
  23. Does everyone need to be paired up? Not in the real world. I didn't understand how Audrey's relationship with Gerald ended. It sounded to me as if she said "Not now" and he heard "Not ever." But we have not heard that they are writing letters or anything, so maybe they really are done.
  24. LA roller rink now a homeless shelter funded by ‘Jeopardy!’ host Alex Trebek
  25. When we rehearsed for my high school graduation, we sang along with "Pomp and Circumstance": "My reindeer flies sideways, your reindeer does not," etc.
