  1. Could "Harlequin" be accepted for FJ? The pronunciation could be the same.
  2. The Sherlock Movie Might Actually Be Happening
  3. Among the thousands of people who applied, likely there were other mysteries that were different and more interesting, but that the researchers were not able to solve.
  4. If Hetty hanged herself, wouldn't the rope make marks higher up, under her chin and ears, where they would not be covered by her clothing? If Sam or Jay researched old newspaper reports of Hetty's death, or her death certificate, I wonder what they would find. Some old newspaper stories include a lot of detail, but others might gloss over the cause to spare the family.
  5. Knowing Chuck Lorre, I'm a bit surprised that Abishola didn't force Bob to sell the family business so they could move to Baltimore.
  6. April 14-20, 2024, is National Animal Control Officer Appreciation Week in the U.S. I hope the episode mentions this.
  7. I hope you have a dog or other animal that would happily eat floor ravioli.
  8. Thank you. I looked at that, but thought it searched only one season at a time. Turns out it does search all seasons, and I found the information I needed.
  9. Is there a place to search for a contestant's name if you don't know which season they were on? I found https://www.jeopardy.com/search but it does not seem to work. adTHANKSvance!
  10. The Colbert Report, the day after the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013
  11. A poltergeist is a noisy or unruly ghost or spirit. People who believe in them say they like to make unexplained noises or move things. I once visited some people who said their house had a poltergeist. I sat in front of a bookcase, and a book fell on my head. The people said that book must have something very meaningful in it for me. I read the book, but nothing. (The house was old and a bit rickety, so that's my explanation.)
  12. Popularity of the name Elsbeth. During this Elsbeth's lifetime the frequency of babies being named Elsbeth has been about 8 per million or fewer. (Carrie Preston was born in 1967 so Elsbeth is probably about the same age.)
  13. It was Faces of America, also with Prof. Gates. The reveal.
  14. I was expecting at least one "Bless her heart" in there.
  15. 3/5. Bringing a bucket of ice, and assorted beverages.
  16. My favorite ice bucket challenge is Patrick Stewart's.
  17. Agreed. I asked in a previous episode why Margaret couldn't give Susan the promotion, explain that the firm couldn't afford to give her a raise yet, and promise to give her the raise when they could. In most companies the salaries for different levels overlap a lot. If this company's rules require that Susan get a raise if she gets a promotion, they should say so. (One of my TV pet peeves is the gaping plot hole that could have been fixed by writing a few lines.)
  18. The episode should be on the CBS website tomorrow. I may watch it again (that way), it was such fun!
  19. Cartoon animals more recent than Bullwinkle and the Road Runner are not in my memory banks. For yesterday, you could think of the three seas as a sandwich with marmalade in the middle.
  20. Yes, and one way to find them is to connect to certain way-back people who are known to have had royal ancestry. For example, the New England part of my ancestry includes Thomas Dudley, who was a governor of Massachusetts in the 1600s. His ancestors include King John Lackland (meh) and therefore John's mother Eleanor of Aquitaine (yay!).
  21. True, but most people with any European ancestry are descended from Charlemagne (known in genealogical circles as "Chuck the Prolific.")
  22. Has this been canceled yet?
  23. I enjoyed this, although I had hoped for a bit more variety in the mysteries than what they showed. Would like to see a long article or video about the selection process. They got thousands of applicants. Probably they did some research on many of them, and chose the ones who had interesting mysteries that they were able to solve. Yes, bring back "Genealogy Roadshow"!
  24. PBS article: Mr Bates vs The Post Office: Inside Episode 1
  25. In episode 2 or 3 we got to see into one of her tote bags. Maybe someone has a recording and can see what was in there besides the baggie of baby carrots.
