  1. Seems very hypocritical. But, she describes herself as Mormon 2.0. Is that a thing?
  2. As a long-time kindergarten teacher, I made sure each of my students made the obligatory horn of plenty each November! I really laughed at the results of this challenge, although Hermine nailed the shape perfectly!
  3. Do you watch Extra Slice? Their opening is a take-off on the GBBO opening...with a few funny bits like overpowdering the buns and a sinkful of dishes at the end! They have also added in the missing raspberry.
  4. I was going to comment the exact same thing, especially considering the many comments about pronunciation during Japanese week. I think people would be just as critical if someone was using the perfect pronunciation for foreign words. I see that happening often here in California with Spanish words, especially towns and food. People just like the regular "Americanized" pronunciation.
  5. Wow! That was a real upset...I was sure Hermine would shine on Patisserie week and end up in the Finals with 3 Star Baker weeks. Having said that, I do believe it was a fair decision, based on judging week by week. I literally yelled in anguish at my tv when Hermine flubbed her Showstopper so badly. Up until that point, Laura had a better Signature bake and Hermine had a beautiful Danish cone. Laura's showstopper had five layers, all very delicious, according to the judges, and the failed mirror glaze (don't get me started on her messiness!). Hermine's gelatin cubes seems inedible to me - I would have passed. It is always so difficult to lose a favorite baker on a disappointing Showstopper, as we have seen with Mark, Lottie, Marc, and now Hermine. Also, I feel that the timeline imposed by the pandemic has really stressed the bakers. There is just no downtime to de-stress and enjoy the process. The perfectionists baker types don't have a week to fit in lots of practice bakes. It just seems like it's steamrolling to the final. They all deserve to be very proud of their efforts.
  6. New drinking game: take a drink each time Lisa mentions Sundance! LOL 😂
  7. There's two of them in this episode: Meredith at her birthday party and Lisa at the Ski Day! She also seems fake- did you see her making the rounds at the party? She literally told each person, "I love your ______ (fill in the blank)" and then went on to the next. Is this her way of networking? Hopefully the women there are not so superficial that they are flattered by that crap.
  8. Maybe since they are in the bubble, they have used up all the pre-filmed scenes of the contestants at home. I watch "Extra Slice," which is a real treat for GBBO fans. We have seen several shots of the bakers at the hotel celebrating, enjoying each other's company, etc. It would be nice if the actual show gave us a bit more of this. They could cut a few of Noel and Matt's gags and show us more about the contestants or the history/info of the food. (Although I enjoy Noel and Matt- just thinking about the opinion of many on this board...)
  9. She calls herself the "First Lady" of the church, but according to the Tea, the church members identify her as their god. That kind of power and excessive wealth is probably the reason she jumped at marrying her step grandpa.
  10. Have you thought about posting this to the Media topic? That way, when others join in on the conversation in future weeks, we can send them to this resource easily. EVERYONE should read this!!!
  11. I'm definitely in the minority here, but that Sussex Pond Pudding sounded delicious when Prue and Paul were tasting it. I liked the idea of the sweet sugary concoction mixing in with the lemon juice, combining with the flaky pastry and cream. However, I was just as upset as the others who have posted here about the unfairness of the time allotted. Although it created drama, none of the bakes were successful, which reflects more on the challenge than the bakers. Also, I think withholding the suet pastry recipe and steaming times added to the confusion. Only Peter seemed to be familiar with suet pastry, which may have been more popular in the past than it is nowadays. I can understand the bakers should know the recipe for a baking staple like bread, choux pastry, etc, but suet crust? On another note, I think the judges are weighing the Showstopper MUCH more heavily this season. Some of these final decisions have my mind boggled...
  12. I have been sad at each baker's departure these last 4 weeks, but I actually shed tears this time. What a great "gent," as Laura said!
  13. Judging from the way Jen wears 5 inch heeled sandals in the snow, I’m not expecting much...
  14. I read this on Reddit and I can honestly say that her marrying her step granddad is the LEAST of the shady things Mary does. I'm mortified about their cult and how she uses all that donated money to buy designer clothes, plastic surgery and more. I only hope some of the cult members watch this show and the reality of the situation wakes them up.
  15. I've enjoyed reading all your comments about this episode, but can't believe no one mentioned Colt's new girl's beer drinking talents (?)- that was cringeworthy! Also, I think Colt was drunk in the Uber on the way to the hotel. He kept putting his foot in his mouth and then digging the hole even deeper. He wants to be careful and take it slow on his way to "getting laid?" I wonder if he has developed a drinking habit since the whole Larissa thing- could be how he put on so much weight.
  16. OMG! "Butt cleaner!" Won't "bidet" suffice? If not, there must be a more professional way to say it. I've been wanting to get one, especially with the tp crisis, but I'm afraid I would end up like Pedro and not have the right connectors. I just had a thought: how many bidets have been purchased due to Jihoon's stellar recommendation? Maybe he should start selling bidets!
  17. Was this during the time when toilet paper was not to be found?
  18. You said it! Fame-mongers, get off the Fiancé Train. I'm here for the real relationships, good, bad or ugly, but at least authentic.
  19. On the plus side, he has an exceptionally clean anus.
  20. I tend to agree with this. She tried several times to hold his hand and he was yanking it away. I think he was so worked up, he was warning her he might crush her hand and didn't want to do that. She finally put her arm through his.
