  1. I'm of the opinion that Jen rented the chalet to appear to be in a higher tax bracket and appeal to the audience of RHSLC. I'm sure her spending habits skyrocketed due to her exposure on the show and wanting to impress like the other housewives she has seen on the shows. I'm sure Jen could have told her husband that many of the expenses she was incurring was going to be covered by the show or by her newfound notoriety. She could have kept him in the dark about her criminal enterprises. He seems to have more conventional, simpler taste (Popeye's, etc). I guess time will tell...
  2. Hair talk: Amira: I'm pretty sure she is wearing hair extensions...although at first I thought it was a wig. So pretty, though. Quite a difference from the Darcy look. Natalie: She's got lovely natural curls and needs to get a product that enhances them. Maybe she should go to Kody Brown's hair dresser (Sister Wives). Yara: Great wedding hair. Andrew: no, your ponytail is not cool.
  3. So, is the theory that the top photos were of the actual wedding day and the bottom photos were later for a wedding reenactment? She does look thinner in the bottom photos. This could also account for the difference in the weather between the day she went to Seattle and her wedding day.
  4. I can't with Yara's lips, either. I don't think it matters how much others say it detracts from one's looks, people are still going to inject their lips up to the size of a small bed pillow. When Yara was in labor, all I could focus on were those lips. On the plus side, the makeup artist who did her wedding makeup did an amazing job. Her eyes looked great and it was really the first time I thought Yara looked beautiful (sans filters). Actually, I think the makeup artists have really been bringing it this season...Hazel looked beautiful for her wedding, too.
  5. I'm not surprised that Meredith is again defending her child, saying that his post had nothing to do with Jen's situation. She needs to let Brooks grow up. If he's old enough to throw shade, he's old enough to catch the fallout.
  6. I'm thinking Hazel is gay and wants to have a relationship with a woman, which wasn't possible to do in the Philippines. So she marries Tarik for the green card and talks him into this 3-way, by saying she is bi. She has never acted as though she is enamored of Tarik, so I think he is just a means to an end.
  7. I agree with you. I think that if Yara wants to build a strong relationship with Jovi's family, she should welcome them to take part in their wedding. I understand that Yara's parents aren't there, but often that is the case when one marries on a K-1 visa. A good solution would be to have another wedding or celebration in Ukraine in the future, as other 90 Dayers have done (probably paid for by TLC). I'm not familiar with NOLA, but didn't several people say that the area they are living in is very nice?
  8. Possible thread title in light of recent audio/video leaks: Jen Shah: Shah-tastic Dumpster Fire
  9. From my observations, very few brides actually wear the dress they choose in the obligatory wedding dress shopping trip. I can imagine that Julia and her mom already went dress shopping in Russia and her dream dress is packed away in her former storeroom bedroom.
  10. I'm surprised at this comment. I didn't see Mike's mom as manipulative or conniving. She seemed down to Earth and gave good advice, without being a hovering mom, like so many. She seemed to understand how Mike is an adult and although she doesn't know if they are a good fit, it is not up to her. Also, I would call Natalie manipulating due to several confessional moments where she talks of using her "vomanly vays" and also how she has to weigh winning an argument against the ultimate goal of getting married. Looks like a woman with a plan. And I wouldn't say her mom taught her these things, though it may be true, because I don't know that and also, I love Natalie's mom.
  11. I completely agree with you. Jen used a very important issue to rationalize the other housewives responses to her. But, they were responding to her actual behaviors and, in many cases, gave Jen the benefit of the doubt. They didn’t turn against her until she had displayed many acts of aggression and violence. Jen was looking to excuse herself, but her own behavior undermines her argument.
  12. Vulgar is the correct adjective! People were up in arms about Ed and his sex tourism, but Stephanie is even more blatant. Rebecca needs to focus on the NOW. I'm married to a younger man, too, and thinking too far ahead will just drive one crazy. Enjoy your partner and celebrate your love every day. No one knows the future.
  13. IF Mike and Natalie are in it just for the money, I have a feeling the producers gave him the bluetooth to help overcome his dreadful acting ability. Since he's had it in, he's actually said a few words in response to her, so the producers may be feeding him lines. I don't believe anything that those two are bringing to the table. Brandon and Julia is all fabricated, as well. Even Betty can't drum up a few real tears when she is having a meltdown about losing her baby! Not getting a pregnancy test before the parent discussion was proof that these scenes are all manufactured for our "enjoyment." This really made me laugh! And I know which is Rao and which is Puss!
  14. If I was Rebecca, I would insist that he keep wearing the too-small sweaters and red sweatpants just to lower his sex appeal factor. She's already jealous and insecure. Put him on the good ol' American diet and video games for exercise. He'll be less appealing in no time.
  15. Yes, and I was thinking that when someone is cheating, they may try a little harder to hide the evidence of it. Like not answering a video call at that particular moment.
  16. Mary's Reveals: 1. Her grandmother did not have a will specifying she marry granddad. 2. Her marriage of 22 years is horrible, but he does buy her Chanel bags. 3. Her black husband is white. 4. She rants against her parishioners for not getting her gifts for her birthday and for being cheap. 5. She made up the info about Lisa and Meredith being afraid of Jen because she felt it was true. 6. Grandhubby is actually her second marriage. 7. Her church teaches the same tenets as Mormonism. What did I miss?
  17. I wonder how long she practiced that one in the mirror! I think in part one, Lisa came out hot and started this rage-a-thon. In this part, Heather has amped up her attack even more. Now, it's all become nonsensical - when Jen Shah comes off as the calm one, you know you've gone too far!
  18. I agree. I actually married a man using a spousal visa, and thankfully we are happy together after 11 years of married life (and 5 years of dating - not 90 days!). But, I do believe this show attracts people who just want to be on tv and audition for it, and then, of course, the producers pick the craziest couples. Hence, the show depicts the least-likely-to-succeed pairings. I'm amazed some of them last as long as they do!
  19. Mike would rather be miserable with his pretty Ukranian bride than be happy with a local girl with average looks who actually cares about him.
  20. I think I must agree with you. There is no other explanation for her continuing to be here despite his disinterest and her dislike of him.
  21. And the 27 year old fiancé has a history of pawning losing the gifts she gives him!
  22. I'm glad you picked up on how Lisa turned her comments about her children around to put the focus again on her. She is truly an egomaniac. I didn't buy her crocodile tears, either. Everything about her is fake, fake, fake...
  23. I'm sure its going to be fodder for the 2nd or 3rd part of the reunion. I hope they bring some of the tea that has been on social media and not gloss over her reprehensible behavior.
