  1. The storyline was okay, but it's been done so many times. Did anyone really think they were going to find the kid deceased? I thought the mom was a good actress. I was surprised by her because I disliked her acting when she played the angel of death on NCIS New Orleans. My favorite part of the episode was Maggie's line about being a workaholic widow. Missy really shines when she plays the character's personal moments. I like her approach because it is a mix of happy and sad emotions and not just mopey melodrama
  2. Today, they started with a clip of Geraldo Rivera on the Hannity program on Fox. Joe was really hyper making fun of Geraldo, and Mika looked pissed. They showed clips of the Washington Nationals celebrating their wild card victory. I thought Joe was a Red Sox fan... Elyse and Mike Barnicle are in the studio with Joe and Mika. Mika said there is anti-impeachment rhetoric from the president about a coup. Joe said impeachment is a constitutional process, not a coup. Jon Meacham gave some history of impeachment. I am waiting for Mika to tell us what her dad thought of impeachment! Joe said Trump talked about beating up people. I would like to see more analysis of the legal aspects of an impeachment. I think the show needs an interview with a constitutional scholar.
  3. The Washington Nationals advance to the NLDS! As a resident of the District, I am pumped! As a lifelong Astros fan, I want the Stros to win the WS, but I can still pull for the Nats in the National League. It is just so exciting for this city.
  4. Mason Rudolph looked good in last night's game against the Bengals. He is very confident and mature and seems to have good support from his team members as well. I have to admit that I am surprised. I thought that the Steelers were toast after Ben got hurt.
  5. Today, it looks like Joe and Mika are in DC. Mika and Willie have a White House studio backdrop, while Joe gets the Capitol. Joe tells us that the AG is an errand boy for Trump. We are all more susceptible to gangland attacks and drugs because of Pompeo. Joe knows about gangs and drugs. Willie read a bunch of polls about impeachment. Joe said Trump must be worried and Repubs are tired of Trump. I feel like they are just going to do this same formula for the next few months.
  6. Joe and Mika are in the studio in DC with Jonathan Lemire of the AP. I guess WaPo Eugene needs a break. The lead story is polls. Joe said that polls show support for impeachment, and the president is in trouble. David Ignatius agreed with Joe that the it is a circus. David said the Dems want to avoid a circus. Mika agreed with David. She read the president's tweets and said the tweets are incorrect. Joe threw in the word "dicta" so that we all remember he went to law school. A Financial Times reporter said Elizabeth Warren will benefit from this situation. Joe said we need a break from the Bidens and doing things the old way.
  7. This was all really good. Maria seemed very territorial. I got the feeling that they are setting up a Maria and Danny arc. I thought Eddie looked gorgeous. Boo on Erin's pink suit. WTF was that? No serious prosecutor would wear that. I thought it was odd that Erin just happened to be at a suspect's apartment as he was assaulting his girlfriend. Since when is she a beat cop with a service weapon?
  8. The season premiere was last night. Surprise, Magnum has another woman he is interested in- an attractive defense attorney. Are there any women on this show who are not chasing after Magnum? It's kind of ridiculous. I realize Higgins isn't openly chasing him, but she spends all of her time hanging out with him, so she doesn't count.
  9. I agree. Olivia Benson is over the top with her personal agendas and can be annoying as hell. There is no doubt that she would have been disciplined or suspended many times in the real world.
  10. The episode was indeed redundant. One think that struck me is that some of the accusers in the episode closely resembled some of the Weinstein accusers. Kind of creepy IMO. I thought Mariska looked beautiful. As a woman over 40, it is nice seeing a beautiful middle-aged woman on TV! It seems like most women in this demographic are either ignored by Hollywood or botoxed and fillered beyond recognition.
  11. Ha, Chloesmom! I think this show would be better with analysis of the actual hearing testimomy. It is mostly blowhard speculation from Joe. I guess analyzing the hearing would be too much work for the First Couple of News. Coming up, the Speaker of the House!
  12. Today, Willie is in the studio, while Joe and Mika are outside on Capitol Hill. I live just a few miles from the Capitol. I am tempted to go down there and see it live.. if only I didn't have this damn job. Joe mentioned when he was in Congress. Joe showed headlines of the White House in turmoil. Eugene from WaPo is with Joe and Meeks, and someone from Daily Beast. Joe said there is a political earthquake, and it is bigger than Nixon and Watergate. Mika said it's just wrong. Insightful analysis.
  13. I was happy to see a meaningful conclusion for the Donna and Harvey story. The one thing that was missing is that their was no marriage license, which is actually very important in any real marriage. When I got married, I had to provide my license to the officiant in advance of the ceremony, and it was strictly stated in my instructions from the venue. However, despite the lack of license, it was nice that Harvey acknowledged that the loss of his mom made him realize he should not wait. I generally hate the schmoopy self written vows, but theirs were quite touching. It was nice to see Faye gone and have Katrina appointed as name partner.
  14. Joe is lecturing two journalists and Mika about what the president said to the Ukrainian president. His set up is bizarre. He is role playing the president and his conversations. It's not really an interview. Mika nods at Joe's theories and says " hm-mmm." Is playing the part of the president gonna become a thing for Joe? Lord.
  15. This morning on Sports Center, they showed a clip of Redskins coach Jay Gruden saying that he can't change things every 5 minutes. They pointed out that the team is 0-3, he is the head coach. and he can change things whenever he wants. Come on Jay! It's not looking good for us fans here in DC.
  16. Joe is sermonizing about what we know about the president and Ukraine. He disagrees with news people who say we don't know what will happen because he knows - or something like that. Mika is admiring Joe and agreeing with Willy while holding her coffee cup. Mika is giddy. Heidi P and Willy had a segment explaining procedural aspects of impeachment. Wow, Heidi read a lot of background and explained the procedure in detail. Heidi for co-host!
  17. I am not feeling it, either. I like Cote de Pablo, but the Ziva character doesn't work without Tony. She is too severe or strident. I will keep watching because I like Gibbs. I thought Mark Harmon was great in this episode.
  18. Ok, today we have stories from NBC News and WaPo about anonymous allegations from senior administration officials. Joe is yelling and emphasizing the word "pressured" a lot. The president's conduct is impeachable "per se" according to Joe. Using the term "per se" makes it a better legal opinion ,apparently. Now Joe is telling us his jury argument on impeachment, as if someone in Congress wants his advice.
  19. https://deadline.com/2019/09/emmys-ratings-fall-game-of-thrones-sunday-night-football-los-angeles-rams-1202742225/amp/ Accourding to Deadline, the broadcast was low-rated. I used to watch the Emmy Awards every year, but I did not watch one minute this year because I don't recognize most of the shows. Since I usually watch the major networks, I feel completely left behind by the focus on streaming and pay cable shows. Anyway, I regret missing the audience laughing at the Kardashians. Hopefully this will be their last trip to the Emmys.
  20. The Astros are looking very bright heading into the post season. Justin Verlander has his first 20-win season since 2011, and George Springer hit 3 homers last night. The Yankees had a great tribute to CC Sabathia. I will miss watching him.
  21. Joe, Mika, William Weld and Mark Sanford are talking about the president and the Ukraine. Mika is doing her full on serious anchor voice to read WaPo and WSJ articles, complete with serious mouth pursing. This must be a big news day because there is no smirking or flirting. Joe is wearing a shirt that looks like a checkered tablecloth. Elizabeth Warren is leading Biden and Sanders in Iowa polls. Joe said that Warren is soaring.
  22. Harvey and Louis did a good job of using Faye's prior bad history in court. I liked the moot court where they basically told her that all the bad shit was coming out at the trial. That was hilarious. Denise Crosby was excellent portraying Faye's anger as she lost control over her attorneys and the case. I really liked the Mike and Harvey interaction in the bar.
  23. They opened the show with clips of Tump talking about the border wall construction. Mika said that there is something wrong with Trump. Joe seemed perplexed that Mika is doing mental health analysis. He told her not to get into that. Mika has her weird gleeful demeanor where everything is a secret or joke. Someone needs to tell her this is a news broadcast.
  24. Steve Korniacki is on the show this morning, looking very dapper. Willie and Steve discussed a new NBC news poll that shows Elizabeth Warren gaining. Steve addressed the patterns in past primaries in New Hampshire and Iowa. Steve and Willie are very informative. Oh here comes Donnie. He wants us to know the numbers will be different in a binary place. Ok whatever. Donnie is no polling expert.
  25. Chris is not even capable of the fake BIP engagement. He is so scared of committing to anything. I think that he is going to be one of those guys still trying to find hookups at the bar when he's 45.
