  1. Exactly CRS97, she is totally rebelling against her upbringing Yesterday there were some photos published of Hannah in Disneyland, wearing mouse ears and acting like a goof. She was playing to the cameras with exagerrated gestures and faces. It was total famewhore territory. She seems very young, even for a 23-year-old. I don't think she has any intention of settling down in a long term relationship. I see her going into Instagram and appearances and perhaps trying to date in the Bachelor nation or snag a minor celebrity. I think her career path might be similar to Lauren Bushnell. Lauren quit her flight attendant job, became a full time influencer, and is now engaged to a country singer.
  2. I don't know what to think of this episode. I find it far fetched that the New York bar would become involved in the day to day operation of a law firm. I am an attorney( not in NY), and my state bar would send a disciplinary notice to the attorney advising of suspension ot disbarment and offering a chance for a hearing. The individual attorney may then suspended or disbarred, but the bar association would not come and take over the operation of the firm. I realize they need drama but that was just dumb. Are we really to believe that Harvey felt remorseful for having sex with Donna? Harvey told Donna that he would not have done it if he had known that she and Thomas had not officially broken up beforehand. Then, later in the episode, he dropped the guilt feelings and was ready to sleep with Donna at Mike's place. So what was the point of the angst about Thomas? Are they setting up a future confrontation between Thomas and Harvey? It was a nice seeing Gabriel Macht's father, Stephen, on the show. I would like to see them in a scene together.
  3. I agree. I don't think she is a narcissist, but she has the demeanor of someone who has always been the center of attention and treated like they are special. She is very focused on herself and never talks about what anyone else wants or needs. My guess is that her family catered to her because she was good at pageants and somewhat "famous" in Alabama during her year as Miss Alabama.
  4. Their main connection was religion, and he thought they shared religious values. Therefore, he thought because his religion teaches faith to one partner, Hannah was on the same page. Hannah lit up talking about their shared testimony and faith a few episodes ago. That was definitely God talk. I think Luke had some reason for believing they had similar values. I don't care at all for the guy, but I believe he thought they had the same values about sex.
  5. One aspect of last night that puzzles me the long sex convo with Luke capped off by Hannah's proud declaration that she had sex and Jesus still loves her. The thing I don't get is why Hannah, with her religious background, would subject her family to a televised list of sins of her vagina. Seriously WTF. Do what you want with your body but damn, get a filter about what you say. Do you think your parents want to hear about that stuff? She has no consideration for how her family might feel watching that. Everything is all about what Hannah wants right now. I am not sure why anyone wants to be in a relationship with her.
  6. I get the feeling that Hannah thinks that it is revolutionary to say she had sex. She loves to grandstand about all of it. I agree that no one owns her, but what is with the lecturing about her right to screw. I have friends who have a different Tinder boyfriend every month. They don't grandstand about how enlightened they are for "havin' sex."
  7. It is sad hearing Luke say that Hannah is his future wife. He has Hannah on a pedestal because she goes to church. I know he's a controlling jerk, but he clearly bought into the God talk and thought she was on the same page.
  8. https://mobile.twitter.com/RealitySteve/status/1150822187709976576 Reality Steve reports thar Peter allegedly had a girlfriend that he dumped right before going on the show. They allegedly talked about the future together, and she thought it was real love. I am so disappointed in this development. I hope Peter is ready to explain himself on ATFR. Editing to add -I am willing to hear what Peter has to say. Maybe they had different ideas about what their conversations meant. Oftentimes when dating, people talk in generalizations about future aspirations of marriage. I had these types of conversations when I was single and dating and never viewed them as a promise for a commitment. It was more like trying to figure out if you had similar goals in the dating sphere because some people are only out to hook up.
  9. Yes, and perhaps some form of education or a hobby other than wearing evening gowns. What are her other goals? The contrast with even recent bachelorettes is pretty stark. Rachel was a lawyer and Ashley a dentist. Beauty queen magic is pretty limited in real life without some other talent. Look at Olivia Culpo, whose post Miss Universe career consists of posing in swimsuits on Instagram. Her sexual confidence is impressive. She was in Miss USA, which does not have a talent competition. Miss America, in contrast, has some seriously talented women (opera singers, concert pianists), which seems to correlate with higher intelligence in the contestant pool.

    The NBA

I am a Houston native and I love the Westbroom trade. I really want Harden and Westbrook to have another shot at the playoffs together. I would have liked to see Westbrook make it happen in OKC, but the writing was on the wall once Paul George left. It sucks for OKC fans to see their team being dismantled.
  11. It is pretty odd. The song he wrote with Hannah was terrible and amateurish. After seeing the date in Knoxville, I think that Jed saw this show as a vehicle to go from a Knoxville bar crooner to the big time. I got kind of a depressed vibe from his mom and a "don't care" vibe from sis. Even they don't seem to think Jed is marriage material. The rose ceremony made no sense either. So Hannah is an indecisive basket case, and the show encourages more problems by letting her keep everyone so she doesn't freak out? That just makes it harder and more traumatic when she does send someone home.
  12. To be clear about my earlier post, I think Garrett can be a jerk, but he tried pretty hard to be sweet to Hannah when he left. She had no time for it. It could be because Garrett insulted her precious, misunderstood Luke. This season has so many twists that have played out on social media. Like you Just Carol, I have thought back to the early days of the franchise. Most of the contestants had regular jobs, and there was no such thing as a post-Bachelor career in Instagram posts. This season, for the first time in Bachelorette history, I feel like I can't get caught up in the romance. The only fun is waiting for the shit to hit the fan on ATFR.
  13. This was funny. The red nose must be very noticeable in person. Garrett gave a very romantic farewell, holding her face and kissing her several times. Hannah had a forced smile and looked like she couldn't wait to get rid of him. Hopefully, one day she learns to like the nice guys.
  14. I absolutely cringed seeing the preview where she talks about sex in the windmill. It reminded me of a co-worker who got drunk at happy hour and talked in detail about their sexual exploits. The lack of discretion is my takeaway when someone does that. People are free to have sex with anyone they want within legal limits, but the announcement about sex in the windmill speaks to a lack of maturity or "filter." I think Hannah wants to shock some of her hometown crowd in Alabama, and perhaps she thinks sexual liberation is the tool to do it? Sometimes, people who grew up in a restrictive environment go wild as young adults. Chances are plenty of people in her town are getting busy but just not announcing it to the world.
  15. The Rangers are building a new stadium that will open in 2020. This one will have a retractable roof, similar to Minute Maid Park in Houston. In Houston, they play most summer games with the roof closed because it is just too hot and humid, even on clear days. They are able to play with the roof open sometimes in the spring and fall.
  16. I think Hannah feels connected to Luke by religion, as evidenced in their conversation about sharing their "testimony." I am not sure what religion uses that term, but whatever it is, they seem to share it. It might explain why she has a hard time seeing his bad behavior. Is it possible that she was pushing for it to work out do to their common faith (plus Luke being quite easy on the eyes?) None of the other guys have openly talked about religion. Also in the preview she says " I've had sex and Jesus still loves me." That appears to be a deeper argument about her disappointment at Luke using religion against her. I could not figure out the crying at the art gallery. She seems so emotional. I think she was feeling guilty about dumping another guy.
  17. I think the production is perpetuating a Southern stereotype by having the most stereotypical contestant. The small town girl with the strong Southern drawl is what some people expect from Alabama. There are a lot of stereotypes that are probably based on TV and movies. There are women in Alabama who are rocket scientists. That would actually be interesting to see on this show. There are a lot of women in the South who are doctors, lawyers, business owners, etc. Hell, maybe Hannah even has ambitions beyond evening gowns, but you wouldn't know it watching this show. I think it is just easier to go with the beauty queen thing because it is simple and gives good visuals.
  18. I actually thought it could have been a high school boyfriend and a college boyfriend. In any event, that is a lot for someone as young as Hannah. I feel like Hannah is sweet but very immature. Luke is feeding her inner teenage drama queen and her need to be admired. She could have walked away from him, but she chose to fight with him because he has to prove himself and feed her ego. I actually felt for Luke on some level because he was struggling to understand her and was getting frustrated. I kind of felt sad for him in a way. Luke's uncanny resemblance to Bryce Harper might be clouding my judgment. My overall impression is still that Hannah is very limited. She likes to be admired for her looks because that is what she has always known since childhood in the pageant world. She likes to make out because it's fun, and she doesn't have a lot to contribute intellectually. Her favorite subjects are what Hannah feels and what Hannah wants. My feeling is that five years from now, she will be married to a doctor or lawyer from Alabama or Georgia, living in a nice house, and she won't be much different than she is now. (And this isn't a ding on the South, I'm from Texas.)

    The NBA

I should have been more clear. I know it is not their fault but I am trying to explain why people dislike them. ESPN had the same reporter on every day of the playoffs hyping them. At one point, he even reported that they were that not worried about Durant's injury. If you watch Sportscenter at the asscrack of dawn, you know what I am talking about. ( I watch it most work days from 6 to 6:30). ESPN also has a business interest in the Warriors because they have a development deal with KD. Perhaps that played a part in the hype.

On this morning's Sportscenter, (6 am edition in DC) ESPN is running an interview with their Warriors reporter. The headline? "Warriors express confidence about next year." This is why people get tired of the Warriors. The Raptors are the champions and they are still overshadowed by coverage of the Warriors. ESPN, give us a break from the cheerleading for a day or two,and head up to Toronto to cover the champs. The truth is that no one knows what will happen with the Warriors since one star has a busted knee and another is entering free agency.

Yes to all of this. I lived in Houston in 1995 when the Rockets won and now live in DC, which enjoyed hockey championship last year. It is very special when your team makes a run for the championship, especially when they were not favored. It can really bring a city together. The playoff run that Toronto put together was just unbelievable. I never paid much attention to this team but am a fan now.
  22. Congratulations to the Blues. The players were so excited. I wish they could have won the game on their home ice so the fans could enjoy the moment in person.

Maybe I misinterpreted it, but I thought that some of the fans were cheering KD for his effort, the same way that fans clap when a player is carted off in college football. It was sad to see KD go out this way. In my dreams, KD, James Harden and Russell Westbrook would unite in OKC and win the championship that slipped away in 2012. I love the quiet power of Kawhi Leonard. I am also a huge fan of the city of Toronto and hope that the Raptors win the series.
  24. The one-on-one date with Luke provided a window to Hannah's personality. She kept telling him that he wasn't giving her anything to work with, but she wasn't helping him She could have asked the types of questions she wanted answered. I see someone who is used to making demands on people and getting her way without much work. To me, she comes off like a spoiled princess.
  25. This post so perfectly articulates the situation. There is a sadness when you are over 40 and still hoping to find a partner and have a family. Yes you can still meet someone but there are guys your own age dating women 10 years younger. I experienced these exact emotions before marrying at 42 and am still experiencing uncertainty about whether I can have a child or adopt. The thing is that people who are already married with children cannot understand what it is like to be over 40 still searching. They can be insensitive because they don't understand the feeling of limited time. It was truly painful to watch with Tinsley after experiencing it in my own life.
