  1. I am with you, Ramble. What is the big appeal of Blake? His Bachelorette celebrity seems to have gone straight to his head. Rebecca was wise not to pick him. It was pathetic and laughable listening to Kristina and Caelynn recount their "Stagecoach romances" with Blake. Blake seems like a gross slimeball. Stagecoach sounds like an STD-fest. It seems like these people have nothing better to do but hang out with "Bachelor nation" z-listers trying to hook up. Caelynn comes off so desperate and sad. And why would Kristina come back to this show? She is beautiful and seems very sweet. She should date a nice guy in the "real world" and leave this show behind.
  2. He could get plenty of attention and mingle with celebrities on DWTS. Does anyone know what the contestants are paid? So, within a week of her season ending, Hannah is old news, and one of her guys is the breakout star of the season. She has to be pissed. Good for her for being gracious about it.
  3. It is truly heartbreaking. I mean, she was not even safe just crashing after a party. It took a lot for her to come forward and tell this story, especially since Coughlin is gone and his family has portrayed Safesport as the bad actor in the whole situation.
  4. I am pumped for the Zack Greinke trade! I feel like the Astros might really make a run again this year. Wow, shades of the Verlander trade as noted by kariyaki. I haven't lived in Houston in 15 years, but I will be sporting my 'Stros gear in Washington DC - specifically the Astros rainbow jersey that they wore when I was a kid. You can see it from a block away.
  5. The Faye thing really isn't working. I do not buy the NY Bar sending their representatives to a firm to wreak havoc and fire people at will. Also, assuming Faye is an attorney, her decisions about cases and personnel could create more malpractice concerns for the firm. Even though I hate the story, I think the actress portraying Faye is excellent; she really comes off like a cold hard bitch. That is tough to portray without seeming cartoonish. Edited to add, I read that Faye is played by Denise Crosby. She was on Star Trek in the 1990's and is the granddaughter of film legend Bing Crosby. So she comes by her talent honestly. I don't really like the Donna and Harvey story so far. They are not showing much passion for each other. I am not sure whether the acting or the writing is to blame, but they don't act like a couple at all. Every conversation is like small talk filler. I hope they break up and she goes back to Thomas.
  6. I felt very sorry for Hannah when she said she has always pleased people. ATFR is gonna be a trainwreck after all the revelations about Jed.
  7. Another sad result of this franchise. Making a living from Instagram seems like a risky proposition in tge long run. What happens when Instagram falls out of favor and you have to get a real job? Do you put influencer on your resume? Just wondering. I don't use social media, so this influencer shit is hard to understand.
  8. The dates on this episode were completely lacking in emotional connection. It really stands out compared to other Bachelorettes that were down to the last two. This woman is so emotionally limited. The parts with her parents were especially enlightening as it is clear that there is no expectation for Hannah to earn her way in life. She has been coddled by mommy and daddy, and she really only cares about herself. All of her conversations revolve around how she feels and what she wants. Mom and Dad Brown raised a spoiled brat. I think she needs to move away from mom and dad and pay her own bills for a while. Then maybe she can approach a relationship as an adult instead of a little girl.
  9. Hannah's dad knows that Jed can't afford Hannah's bills. Dad knows she is high maintenance and he is worried that he will still be paying her bills when she is 30.
  10. I just started watching this home in the past couple of weeks. In my opinion this show fucking sucks. Every character has to show their "quirks" in every scene, and they constantly play idiotic caper music in the background to show how funny and quirky it is. I seriously cannot watch for more than 5 minutes without yelling. In tonight's episode, Maya was interrogated by a federal agent played by Jane Lynch. None of the questions were straightforward, and everyone talked over each other. No interrogation would be run like that. Also, I am an attorney in a government agency, and I do not like the portrayal of government attorneys. Jane Lynch played it like a clown. At my job, we have a high standard of ethics and a professional demeanor is expected. If my office was packed full of trash and clutter like Jane Lynch's, I would be disciplined by a superior. Everything about her was played like a joke. However, there is nothing funny, except to the producers of this show, about threatening people with jail time. I do not remember "The Good Wife" being this flippant about criminal justice. Between the smartass portrayal of deadly serious legal problems, the misplaced focus on being "quirky" for no reason, and the horrible soundtrack, I am having a hard time figuring out what is entertaining. This show is crap in my opinion.
  11. I think they are contractually obligated to appear on ATFR. I agree with Mabinogia that Jed will appear if he thinks he can promote himself. This morning, I saw a promo for the finale. Hannah yells for someone to let her out of the car, and then she is sitting in the street. That is so dangerous and careless on production's part.
  12. I still don't buy that the state bar would run the day to day operations of a law firm. They are involved in licensing attorneys, not running firms. How in the hell does this Faye woman have time to study every detail of everyone's day? Ridiculous. Other notes - I wish Donna and Harvey had a serious talk about their relationship. So far, their relationship has been played for comedy and one-liners. It seems like there is no emotion between them. I don't understand why they bothered to bring Thomas up and have him visit the firm if he was just going to leave again. Although there was one very nice detail: Right before Thomas leaves Donna's office, he looks at her cleavage for a moment like he was thinking of what he was missing. The actor was excellent at conveying his character's emotions. Can we keep him around? What the hell was Katrina wearing at the beginning? Looked like a halter cocktail dress. Wtf. Same thing for Donna's white dress with the jagged hem.
  13. This is an interesting perspective. They really seemed crazy for each other in the beginning, almost like high school kids. Maybe it was their common Southern and religious roots. When you feel that kind if elation over someone, it is painful when it goes bad. Honestly I think Hannah has the best chance with a guy like Luke because he is Southern and religious. The problem started with their miscommunication about sex in the last episode. There was no reason for Hannah to get all pissy and start yelling about what husband would say to her. She could have said, "I disagree and I would like to tell you why." Instead everything goes from 0 to banshee in the blink of an eye. I think they could both use anger management training. Also, husbands say plenty of dumb shit, Hannah! In a marriage you work through things and resolve your differences.
  14. They probably want someone who has read the Mueller report. Mika's sighing and simpering doesn't add much.
  15. True Antfitz, in recent times, the contestants had media careers after the show. I am trying to recall who had normal (non entertainment) jobs. Of the top of my head, I recall Ben, Ashley, and Sean. I didn't watch Byron or Jillian. I think they are both TV hosts now. As I recall, Byron was on fishing shows and Jillian in home improvement. I think that the show is better when the lead is not a media or entertainment industry type. I cannot take it seriously if there is an actor or model lead saying they plan to settle down and have a family with one of the contestants. Of course an actor or model is not going to settle down in Dallas or Denver or someplace ( to quote SNL's "Bland Man" spoof of Ben). I don't want to watch someone "fake it" for two months. There are aplenty of fictional dramas to choose from that are honest about being fiction. And although I know that many of the contestants are there for exposure, some really are there to meet long term partner. Rebecca is engaged and appears to be headed for marriage with her F1. That was only a year ago.
  16. I am an Astros fan, but I have selectively liked Yankees players over the years. I loved every minute of Mariano Rivera's HOF speech. A lot of the speech was very serious, but it turned funny when he humbly acknowledged that he was not so great in 1995. He said that he and Derek Jeter were sent to the minors on the same day in 1995 and were "almost crying in Bennigans." The camera then cuts to Jeter and Andy Pettite in the audience, with Pettite mouthing "Bennigans" and cracking up. It was such a light moment, but you could really see the bond between the three players. It was also touching to see how many fans traveled from Panama. Rivera is truly an inspiration.
  17. I really don't get Tyler. What is the point of having strangers chase you around the park? So he can have an ongoing ego stroking, I guess. And how does that help his entertainment career? Dude is one of the biggest famewhores in the history of this show in my opinion. As to Luke, I hope he gets far away from this damn franchise. He made mistakes, but I feel like he attempted to atone for his behavior. He is young and intelligent and should not be defined by this circus. Chris Harrison should be ashamed of this mess. He could barely conceal his smirk. Edited to add, I was impressed by Mike! He is very handsome and sweet. Any woman who gets him is lucky.
  18. Hannah's topknot hairstyle was strange. That hairstyle has to be tight, and hers was loose and huge. No good. Luke's return was totally contrived. Their security could have kept him out if they really wanted to. I thought the whole Luke segment went on too long and degenerated into a pile on. They should have done 10 minutes and moved on. Hannah seemed like she was baiting the audience with all of her sexual liberation BS. I'll say it again: this woman thinks it is revolutionary to say she can have sex when and where she wants. Whatever, Hannah. Plenty of people have sex without expecting applause. She needs another topic besides her vagina rights.
  19. Flying an airplane for a major airline requires a lot of training hours in an airplane, classroom training, and simulator time. Pilots have to handle very sophisticated equipment and memorize flight manuals for particular aircraft. It requires a fair amount of intelligence and spatial skills. Peter may not be flying currently, but he put years into his pilot training. Delta doesn't just let any schmoe fly their planes.
  20. I used to watch CBS news, but I lost patience with the revolving door. I liked Scott Pelley's voice and delivery. I felt like Scott got the shaft, but I gave Jeff Glor a chance and liked him too. I have family connections to Texas and Western NY, so both Pelley (Lubbock) and Glor (Buffalo) felt comfortable to me. Glor seemed especially nice and was totally screwed in the most recent switch. At least Pelley could returm to his prestigious spot on 60 Minutes. He is a classic newsman in the old sense, like Rather and is also very sexy ( saw him in DC a few years ago). I wish ABC or NBC would pick him up and make him an anchor. I am not even going to bother getting attached to Norah. She seems like a nice enough person, but I get a very "try hard" feeling from her news delivery, as if she is playing a news anchor on a TV drama. Let's face it, CBS will probably push her out within a year. I will probably just watch cable news or ESPN at 6:30 instead of the network.
  21. Thanks Nika. I guess we are going to see this more and more on the Bachelor franchise. I feel like Peter might be more genuine since he flies for a major airline. He has put years of hard training into his profession and is probably more intelligent than 90 percent of the guys on the show. That reminds me more of Travis, who was a doctor. According to Rachel's public listing on the Texas bar, she works with a Miami law firm in the practice of entertainment law. It sounds like she has dumped the idea of being a media personality.
  22. I find Tyler very handsome. The problem I see with Tyler is that he is on the show for self-promotion. Regular working people do not pay for headshots such as that photo posted by Crs97. From the first one-on-one when he was "comforting" Hannah, I got the feeling of some cheesy guy who is trying to get a part on Days of our Lives or General Hospital. He was just too slick and seemed like a soap opera character. The Instagram photos add to my suspicion. I am over him and his stupid poses and faces and derpy demeanor. If he wants to be a model or actor, he should move to NY or Los Angeles and start going on castings and stop playing the brooding guy part on a reality show. Sorry, he just bugs the shit out of me. I realize a lot of people go on for publicity, but his acting is crappy and cheesy. Nick Viall got a few acting jobs from the show, but I don't know of any long-term roles for him.
  23. I thought it was odd that it was not awkward the morning after Donna and Harvey slept together. Most couples would have some sort of conversation to make sense of what happened. They went to work like it was no big deal. I realize that they slept together once years ago, but they both changed a lot since then. I think there should be a more developed adjustment from close friends and co-workers to being a couple. In season 7, Harvey resisted Donna when she said she wanted more. He was also shown in therapy over his relationship issues and problems from his childhood. I would think his issues would come up again.
  24. The beauty pageant world must be torture. You are scrutinzed or praised for every difference in height and weight. Not only is there someone prettier, but these ladies cannot even enjoy their unique qualities because they are always being picked on by their state pageant handlers. Their weight is closely monitored, and their hair and makeup chosen by beauty experts. It is no wonder that Hannah has anxiety issues. I know a few women who relied on the "pretty girl" identity for their confidence, and it can be psychologically damaging as you age. This is why I don't believe in beauty pageants without a talent component.
