  1. Oh wow, I had forgotten all about the Uber driving. I would have liked to see him take the full time position as well.
  2. The careers on this show are fairly confusing. I'm fine hand waving how they can afford apartments on bartender pay, but does Sophie have a paying job at all? I don't think they've mentioned her selling pictures or shooting weddings or anything, right? And Jesse somehow works at the school but also seems to have no job? Does he give private music lessons there or something? He doesn't seem to have set hours to even be a part time music teacher. And I agree with you- they're going so hard on Jesse being the father that it feels like a set up. I'll be disappointed if it's not Jesse though. I like his chemistry with Sophie. The only other viable option for me is that guy who is in Australia right now. Drew always seemed like a filler love interest, she and Charlie being together after he was in love with her best friend is icky, and while I like her chemistry with Sid ok, it would be a bit weird to me for her to be interested in Jesse and then flip to his best friend.
  3. Life got busy and I haven't watched since early January, but nothing I'm reading is making me want to rush back. When I do, I'll probably jump in rather than catch up on missed episodes. It's weird how inconsistent the writing is. They go through really good periods of episodes and then it tanks drastically.
  4. I was disappointed about this too. When Price subpoenaed Jamie, I was thinking "and what does Jack think about that?" It seems like a missed opportunity for a scene. Cosgrove was annoying and came across as a caricature. I wouldn't be sad if Bernard has to solve the murder of his partner before the season is over. I liked Jeffrey Donovan on Burn Notice but he didn't feel natural here. I liked Price alright, and hope we get more of the female ADA (?) soon as she was just kind of there till the end of the episode. I'm just so happy to have this show back!
  5. Thanks! Probably not much interest in discussing 1 season shows that were on 10 years ago!
  6. Is there a thread for Law & Order: Los Angeles? I've been rewatching it this week.
  7. Thank you! Some of that seems highly likely, some seems implausible. It will be interesting to see how much (and which parts) end up being accurate.
  8. Can you point me to the spoilers thread please? I'm generally anti-spoiler when it comes to MCU movies, but I really did NOT like What If so would like to know how much that series is driving this movie. If it's basically live action remake, I may pass on watching till it comes to Disney+ (yes, I hated What If that much).
  9. That wasn't a great finale. I think the season started off strong and got weaker as it went on, and the finale wasn't an exception to that. As soon as they killed Temperance within 10 minutes, I didn't buy that anything that came after was really happening so the twist wasn't a surprise. It kind of cheapened Ace and Nancy, because it wasn't real and I knew that as I was watching. Nancy not telling Ace or Bess what is going on with the curse is annoying. The curse itself is an obnoxious stall tactic that should be undone as soon as possible. It's not even terribly original. I expected better from this show. The cast and acting was about the only thing saving this episode. And I'm glad that everyone is still around and alive. I'm still really hoping for a next season!
  10. So far I'm enjoying this more than I thought I would. It's nothing I'd rave about and I'm still wary given the ending to HIMYM, but it's watchable. They do seem to be pushing Jesse as the most likely candidate, and I wouldn't hate that as he and Sophie have the best chemistry so far. But it also feels like if they're leaning into it so much now, there will probably be some twist.
  11. I'm glad you said this. Granted, I had this on as background noise while working this morning but I'm usually able to follow. This Temperance/Copperhead thing, I rewound twice to see what I had missed. This season has been a bit confusing. It hasn't been a terrible season all together, but I do think on rewatch it will be the weak link. A time jump probably would have helped, even if it was only a year into the future.
  12. That was a let down, considering it was the first episode back after a break and resolved the cliffhanger of Ace being pulled into the limenal world with Hannah. It should have been a lot more action packed and exciting. I liked Nick and George together so I'm annoyed they broke up. It's probably temporary, but I don't think the show needed the angst. Let one couple be stable. I'm not thrilled with the Park/Nancy development either. I like Park and I don't hate him with Nancy, but it feels incredibly forced to have them hook up right as Ace was going to discuss his feelings for her. And considering that Nancy wasn't completely oblivious to what Ace might have wanted to talk about, she kind of looks like an asshole for sleeping with Park in a closet while unconcerned that Ace missed their talk. Which leads me to- this group is CONSTANTLY together. They have texts both with each other and as a group. It's one of the reasons many of us like the show, because they feel like a genuine friend group. But not ONE of them wondered where Ace was or why he wasn't even texting that day? Really? I have a group chat with 4 friends and if one of us isn't even reading the messages sent, we tend to send a separate "just checking you're ok!" text because that's not normal for us. But I'm supposed to believe that neither Nancy (who Ace just uncharacteristically stood up) and Bess (his plantachor) didn't raise the alarms and try to get hold of him? Does anyone know why they changed actresses for Temperance? I can't say I was overly attached to the first one, but I barely remember this second one is supposed to be the same character. Temperance has been a weird letdown of a character too. I don't understand why any of them are trusting her. Sure, Nancy, go ahead and bind yourself by blood to her even more. Seems smart. Things I liked...I do like Addy and Addy/Bess together. Ryan continues to be awesome. I like Carson's new girlfriend and that he gets to be happy. Hopefully next week will be an improvement.
  13. 😂😂 That's so true! I hadn't thought of that! You're right- her name is Lydia.
  14. It makes no sense for Sarah to be so adamant about being friends with his ex when it's clearly causing issues in her marriage. And if the girl didn't mean anything to Adam, so what? It was years ago and her whole "maybe I'm just temporary too then" is ridiculous. They've already been married for triple the length of his relationship with whatever-her-name-is!! I normally like Sarah, but this whole story just makes everyone look dumb. These are the stories people the age of Aadi and Amy should have, not Sarah and Adam. Mary really is good with children! Roy and Mary are kind of the oddballs of the street. But honestly so is Sam, and Gail darn well knows that! She should be happy he's found such kind fellow oddballs to bond with!
  15. I liked Curtis at the start, but wow they ruined him. I hope he's gone now too. Grace was always pretty awful. I agree, Cozytea. I absolutely believe that Faye and Craig care about each other, but I don't really see any romantic chemistry between them. Maybe partly because of covid, because I don't think we've ever seen them kiss, but I have a hard time believing they're in love and sleeping together as the show keeps telling us. I really don't know what they're doing with Sarah and Adam. It's ridiculous that she is so worked up over one of his exes. If it bothers her that much, then she needs to not be friends with this woman. It's so bizarre how angry she is about the whole situation.
  16. Unpopular opinion incoming, but I'm kind of "shipping" Emma and Michael. Neither of them are phenomenal actors who should be given heavy drama stories, but they could be a nice happy couple we see once in a while whose stories are more about family, friends, work, than relationship drama.
  17. Hey now, she mentioned pizza too- that makes her deep and multifaceted 😄
  18. Thanks @BitterApple! Off to do some reading...
  19. Do you have a link to the Reddit post? I looked a bit, but couldn't find it.
  20. I really liked both of these books, and enjoyed the novel within a novel format the series has. I also like his Hawthorne and Horowitz series. It's a bizarre author self insert (literally, he himself is a character in the books), but it has modern day Sherlock and Watson vibes and I enjoy the mysteries. They're not as dense as Magpie or Moonflower, but still well written.
  21. I will accept your head canon! I do wish Happy had remembered him as the kind of dorky nephew of May, just so he has someone to grieve with. Poor guy.
  22. Same. I did not expect to feel so emotional at seeing Tobey show up, especially since I absolutely expected it. But when he walked through the portal and when he suited up, I had some strong emotions about it. I really appreciated how much screen time Tobey and Andrew got. I expected them to show up for a brief conversation before the final battle and then leave again. I love that we got so many scenes and conversations with them, including a couple even without Tom. They really felt like side characters instead of cameos and I'm so glad the movie paid them that respect. My theater was fairly quiet, but that's not uncommon of Midwesterners of my area. I hit my husband sitting next to me when Matt Murdoch showed up. I told him before seeing the movie that they had to have already filmed something with him, likely this movie, for Feige to confirm Charlie Cox would return. There were a few gasps when the portal to Andrew Peter opened and a few of us realized right away that it wasn't Tom. Tobey got a bit more of a reaction, but I think more people recognized him immediately since he wasn't in costume when the portal to him opened. I've never actually seen the Andrew Spider-Man movies, but I got a little choked up when he saved MJ anyway. He played that scene so well. I'm really not sure where they go from here with Peter. It was strange to me that he was no longer in school. Did his school records get erased? And if so, then does he still have a birth certificate, SSN card, etc? I guess I'm still struggling with the decision to have everyone forget not that Peter=Spider-Man, but that Peter ever existed anywhere in their lives. It seems messy, and makes me a little worried for what they'll do going forward as this is a perfect clean slate for Sony.
  23. @Cozytea I liked them gossiping too. but totally agree that Sean would have made more sense than Sally. Also that's a sweet story about your son 😊 @politichick I like Emma ok normally, but she's being written as incredibly brain dead for this Curtis story. I don't understand Curtis using these bucket list events as covers. Does no one ask to see pictures of him at the top of the mountain? He doesn't take a selfish at the finish line? He's supposedly so excited about doing these events, but he doesn't document them at all and no one bats an eye at that.
  24. I'm confused why Yelena followed Eleanor in the first place. Val is the one who contacted her about the mission. Did Val tell her Eleanor was involved? Was she following Kingpin and happened to see Eleanor? I don't know how she goes from "I don't know who hired me" to "I'll follow Kate's mom. Oh, she's having a meeting with a super shady dude. Clearly she must be who hired me". Did I miss an explanation?
  25. I'm enjoying having a daily episode, even if they are shorter. I'm not enjoying this Curtis storyline. I know it's not as dramatic, but I'd have preferred him to be a nice med student with a real heart condition to...whatever this is. It feels like they changed story after introducing him. Didn't he have scars from heart surgery? Would they do an exploratory surgery without any other signs of heart issues? Also not excited about this Lydia and son who have suddenly appeared. Didn't we just do this story with Nick not that long ago? I do like the Christmas market! It's cute and festive!
