  1. Savannah’s sparkly green skirt and light blue blouse have made another appearance. The first time she wore it, I thought “oh, someone will tell her to never wear that again.” But now it’s been multiple times, so clearly she loves it.
  2. When Robyn justified needing a nanny because Kody is away for a week sometimes, it invalidated the reason given for Kody not being at Ysabel’s surgery (the tenderettes can’t go longer than two days without him.)
  3. By the time of this big fight, Janelle would have seen when Kody said her boys just wanted to get their pencils wet, right? She had so much ammunition.
  4. The daddy-daughter outing was weird for so many reasons.
  5. How about this one, Season 17, when Christine found her way to freedom (sunshine) while the rest remained embattled. I took a film class in college, same thing regarding use of symbolism in Hitchcock movies. 🙂
  6. I love how the producers use the background weather to signal the state of things. This is Season 2 vs. upcoming season.
  7. I agree with everything you said. This was maybe the best episode in all the seasons - great final result without anything weird. I just wish they would give purchase price and reno costs like the other shows do. This one had to be a massively expensive renovation since they nearly tore the place apart.
  8. I live in the next county over from the church. It sold in March 2023 for $285k (not sure if it’s ok to post the Zillow listing here.) The previous family had lived there 40 years, having bought it after a group of executives from Better Homes & Gardens transformed it into a home in 1975.
  9. Agree they intentionally showed a lot of shots of her. It was extra weird since she was standing by the table where the HHs were sitting, even though there was a third chair and bagel/coffee that were clearly hers. Why not just have her sit with them unless production intended to showcase the unique outfit?
  10. I heard her say real estate… Despite all her international living, she resisted anything different than how she was living in the U.S. I wouldn’t think England’s small, boxy rooms, hand held showers, and closed off kitchens would be a surprise to someone so worldly. 😉
  11. Chicago and Eugene - I spent an inordinate amount of time trying to decide if each couple would have a long and successful marriage, based on their house hunt.
  12. The detachable sleeves reminded me of the inflatable water wings my toddler daughter used in the swimming pool decades ago.
  13. I came here to say this. Did I miss that she is expecting? Otherwise it seemed odd. I did appreciate the editors who panned dad’s full outfit, including orange shorts and black socks, after Dominique said he was a style guru. 🙂
  14. I’m so glad this topic got created - I’ve been waiting to chat with others about the last episode (the Scofields). Crazy that the producers had to tell them to stay away during Rico’s work. Then her reaction at the reveal was fascinatingly flat. She opted for a giant closet for her stuff vs paying for her twin daughters’ bedrooms to be finished (so Rico funded that) - maybe producer driven? I’ve read the woman’s FB page about their take on the experience. Worth a read. 🙂
  15. And Mark Consuelos has been named as permanent replacement. That seems like a weird decision to me, as in short sighted for his career and the sustainability of the show. I wonder what we don’t know.
  16. The Richmond couple did seem an odd match. At the end when the wife’s parents “invited themselves for a visit” or whatever she snarked, her mother commented on the matching coffee maker and toaster. The wife said, “it’s called stainless steel, it’s not that hard.” Wow, show your mom some respect, lady! The wife also would ask her husband’s opinion, and then immediately give her own before he had a chance to speak. I wonder if she will recognize herself when she watches this.
  17. I liked the arch for the bar area, and it echoed the fireplace arch which worked. But I disliked the arches in the bedroom. And worse, by adding the bed/bath open arch they reduced the separation between bath and bedroom - a huge pet peeve! The sinks were wide open to the bedroom, and It looked like the shower was nearly adjacent.
  18. I’m delighting that Kody tries to sound academic with his big word use, and then got the pronunciation slightly wrong when he said “EM-NITY” instead of enmity. Idiot. Bible Dictionaries - Easton's Bible Dictionary - Enmity Enmity deep-rooted hatred. "I will put enmity between thee and the woman, between thy seed and her seed" ( Genesis 3:15 ). The friendship of the world is "enmity with God" ( James 4:4 ; 1 John 2:15 1 John 2:16 ). The "carnal mind" is "enmity against God" ( Romans 8:7 ). By the abrogation of the Mosaic institutes the "enmity" between Jew and Gentile is removed. They are reconciled, are "made one" ( Ephesians 2:15 Ephesians 2:16 ).
  19. I rewatched Season 1 today, including the honeymoon special. Wow, hindsight really is 20/20…so many red flags. And Kody definitely had affection, if not love, for all of the OG wives - even if he chooses to forget that part. Edit: forgot to say Kody used the “I’m only afraid of poverty” line in Season 1! So saying it on last week’s One on One it wasn’t new, rather a mantra. Bonus - he said “some people look at me and think ‘he must be patriarchal or a narcissist, but they are wrong.’” Very interesting those two words were disputed by him from the very beginning in Season 1. Now for some red flag examples… Early on when Robyn and Kody started dating, Robyn was trying to wrangle her 3 kids into her minivan to go to the park. They were wild, running away, etc. She turned to the camera and said something like, “See, it will be so great to have sister wives who can help me with these kids.” Seems she was looking for a crew of nannies from the start. There was a couch segment with the 4 women. Robyn was engaged by then, but still 8 weeks from the wedding. Christine was expressing her discontent that Kody was already splitting his time 4 ways. She said it shouldn’t become equal time until they are married and that she needed him more with the newborn. Robyn was NOT sweet - she set her jaw and told Christine she was wrong, that she (Robyn) needed Kody just as much as his wives did. Surprisingly, Meri stuck up for Christine. And then, of course, the wedding dress bomb shell. Kody was so giddy in love, he couldn’t read the room AT ALL. And Robyn “set there” with a smug look. She said, “I didn’t see a reason for you all to know Kody had already picked my dress” (when she pretended to shop with the women). When Christine got up from the couch to collect herself, Robyn maintained her stone face and never apologized for upsetting the women. The ELEVEN DAY honeymoon… looked like they wished they could erase the rest of the family, and come home to their little family of 5. I hated that Kody put the phone on speaker when calling the other wives, and of course Robyn eavesdropped from the other room. When they got home, Robyn told Christine she NEEDED that much time alone with Kody. The nerve. And finally, Christine was trying to make a little fun of Kody, saying “he can be one kind of idiot with me and a completely different kind of idiot with Robyn or Meri or Janelle.” The OG’s laughed but Robyn looked offended that her prince was being called an idiot. She never fit in or tried. Anyway, it was very enlightening and a bit depressing. I wonder if they ever go back and watch the early stuff. It holds a lot of answers.
  20. Yes! Especially Christine…she has forehead lines when she raises her eyebrows, and the heavy powder made this even more pronounced. It was distracting to me. It was unfortunate, because Christine looks terrific post-Kody in other photos.
  21. I loved Robyn’s nonverbal - a really big swallow, eyes flitting everywhere while slowing nodding after Meri said “Robyn, you know where I stand. I’m still here…blah, blah, blah.” You know Robyn was thinking “Crap, Meri - he doesn’t want YOU to stay! My question was for Janelle!” It’s true, by then there really wasn’t anyone left to consider except Janelle. And now we know how/when that turned out. Teehee!
  22. From Janelle’s description of the holiday logistics and the vacation rental they secured, it sounded they would have the rental for several weeks. If I didn’t know Meri (and her fussiness about her home), I would wonder if Meri was renting them all her huge home in Flag while she holes up at Lizzie’s B & B. Nothing says family like charging them to stay at your home…
  23. They briefly came back to Meri after the commercial break. She basically said it’s frustrating because what Kody is complaining Christine did to him - is what he did to Meri. Specifically, that Kody wanted Christine to work on their relationship but Christine didn’t want to. Meri wanted Kody to work on their relationship but Kody didn’t want to. It was a brief, but pointed, moment.
  24. YES. And let’s not forget the chess board with one king and three queens! What an idiot.
  25. I just don’t get Meri. She hears her “spiritual” husband - the one who already divorced her - say on camera to zillions of strangers that he has no interest in having a relationship with her. Yet she stays. I can’t decide if she is stubborn, pathetic, stupid, or a genius with a long game that I don’t see.
