Thrive Without Janelle: The Accountability Group
Teafortwo replied to LilWharveyGal's topic in Sister Wives
Saline helps as @Absolom mentioned. NeilMed sinus rinse also helps. Flonase helps. A HEPA filter is great too (if the allergies are bad at home). I also have used a dust mite barrier mattress cover on my bed for years. Also under my duvet cover. Everything improved when I got allergy shots. They test you for pollen, mold, grass, roach, various animals. Then you can choose what to include in your shot. There are risks but the worst side effect I had was one time when my arm had a larger patch of swelling than normal from the injection. When that happened my allergist repeated the same dose the following week instead of going up, then raised the next doses more gradually. After the 26 weekly shots, they generally recommend getting a monthly shot for 3-5 years. Some people continue the monthly shots indefinitely. The relief was so dramatic I wished I had done it at least 20 years earlier. I am not a doctor and this is not medical advice, just my experience. Anaphylactic shock can happen, which is why they ask you to wait in the office for a half hour after each shot and take an antihistamine before the shot. -
Also the term "putz" is relevant.

It all depends what features are most important to you. I did a lot of research before figuring out which brand and model I wanted, then more research into Intel i5 vs i7 vs i9, sound, ports, RAM, display resolution etc. The one thing I don't like about my new Dell laptop is it only has two type C ports, so you have to use a "dongle" if you want to use type A flash drive or other peripherals. I had to compromise somewhere though. Above all, I wanted a super-lightweight model with great audio, so it was the right choice. As I mentioned above, there was a lot of trial and error, with two other brands I ended up sending back. I spent so much time on the research because it had been so long since I'd bought a computer.

@Orcinus orcaThe first one looks like a real person. The second pic, oddly, makes Meri look like Danielle Delgado. Seems like they use the same filter?!

Christine Brown Woolley: Nacho Sister Wife Anymore
Teafortwo replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
I agree. Also, for all we know, Christine may be making bank on Plex-iglass. She may even have renegotiated her contract with TLC since her storyline helped raise the ratings. From what I've seen of David's daughter who posts on TikTok, she's thrilled for her father's happiness. Last but not least, annual passes to Disneyland from what I've heard, are not that expensive. (Disneyland is not for me so I don't have exact figures. Or figurines.) ETA: I just looked at Christine's Instagram. There's a series of pix of them at Disney, including one where Truely and David are sitting side by side. Truely is wearing a t-shirt that reads "E is for Existential Dread" (I love this kid!). She's absorbed in her book and her elbow is resting on David's leg. (This may sound odd as described, but it shows her level of comfort with him). It seems like she finally has the father figure she's always lacked, and if he appreciates her, that's amazing. -

I could sort of see this, except for the part where my partner was having sex with someone else when it wasn't my turn. Blechhh. -
I like it! It's a Dell XPS 13 with touch screen. There was a sale because it's last year's model. Still wasn't cheap once I added a few upgrades, MS Office, etc. But I haven't bought a computer since 2010 (!) Well, except for 2 other brands I tried and returned last year, due to some things I didn't like. The Dell is a keeper, although if I'd wanted to really splurge I would have gotten the newest model with a 4K (OLED) display. The display on the one I bought is so much better than I'm used to, though, that it's hard to imagine it being even better. The main thing is that it took almost no effort to set up. I had been using a 2012 Dell from my former job for Word/Excel; my boss never asked for it back when we all got laid off due to the pandemic. (The work computer I've been using since 2021 does not have Office). I'm going to offer to give it back to him; he'll probably just have me do a factory reset and recycle it. But it's been such a workhorse it convinced me to get a Dell finally. <End of Dell advertisement> @Yeah No I hope you're okay and that it's nothing serious. Vertigo is very, very scary! Did you get tested for Lyme disease in addition to the other things? Not sure if that causes vertigo though. I assume they tested for signs of an autoimmune disease when they did the blood tests. Waiting til August to test for other things is indeed a very long time. Hope you get a cancelation. In my experience, calling every day is the best way to get in sooner.

My "sad face" is for Dayton and not for the content of your insightful post.

Does anyone think Kody and Meri made money from their LIV downlines? And of course, income from MSWC. hahahha

Sounds like David D. is going to end up supporting mama one day.

Janelle Brown: Smarter Than Your Average Brown (Maybe)
Teafortwo replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
Plus the RE license in Las Vegas but only a couple of "sells." -
Season 18 confirmed; no air date yet: https://variety.com/2023/tv/news/sister-wives-season-18-future-kody-brown-divorces-1235593382/

Wow, I love the idea of them being stuck there, in this little town, not St. George, not SLC and definitely not Las Vegas. If this happened they would make Breanna enroll in U of Phoenix (completely online college). I think Aurora and Dayton graduate this year.
-
I agree, I bet they decided over a phone call or even a text - then filmed something staged for the show (or will film). I'd actually love to see some honest talking heads from AuroraBreanna. I know it won't happen though.

Ok this is both ick - and makes me want to have some chocolate fudge; haven't eaten that for probably a decade!

Kody Brown: The Man Who Survived a KNIFE to the KIDNEYS!
Teafortwo replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
I wonder if Janelle waited to "separate" from Kody until she started making bank from Plex-trash, but had planned to do so all along. -
One of the "rationales" for the timing of this ill-advised move was that Gabe, Gwen and Aurora were going into their junior year in fall 2018, not senior, and after that there would be a child graduating every year (Ysabel 2021, Briana 2022, Savanah 2023). Gabe ended up doing summer school after completing his junior year in Flagstaff, so he graduated early. Imo, Christine and Janelle both should have refused to budge. Christine has said she already wanted to leave Kody during the Vegas years, but Janelle advised her to become financially independent first. I think she started her LLR "business" as soon as they got to Flagstaff. She could easily have launched it in Las Vegas. But we don't know how much Kody controlled the TLC purse strings at that time. My guess is that he had total control over the money coming in from the show, so he was able to force them to move when and where he Robyn wanted to. I still think there were other options, though. Christine and Janelle could have moved in together in Vegas - at that point Garrison was in the military, so Janelle only had two kids at home, and Christine had 3 (she kicked out Paedon just before the move to AZ). I think she had 5 bedrooms, and could have turned her "library" into a 6th if necessary. Of course no one anticipated that it would take over a year to sell all the homes, but anyone with any sense could have seen that C&J's homes. as beat up as they were, would take the longest. And most people would realize that selling one house at a time (or even two) would be better than dumping all 4 on the market simultaneously. TLC may also have threatened to end the show if they didn't all move at the same time. At that time I don't think the ratings were all that good.
-
I see your point, but Season 18, is already in the can. It was wrapped before they filmed the S17 tell all iirc. And yet, there was apparently a camera crew with Meri when she moved into the BnB, and filming of the twins' births, which suggests a Season - gulp - 19. Of course they could just dump that footage into a couple of fast-forward, where are they now, wrap-up episodes at the end of S18. My guess is TLC is hedging their bets and it will depend on ratings (whenever they air S18). I bet Mykelti and Tony are praying they'll be sooo popular that TLC will want to do a "counting on"-type show with them. LOL.

Kody Brown: The Man Who Survived a KNIFE to the KIDNEYS!
Teafortwo replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
I think we're in for at least 2 more seasons because viewer interest has increased so much with the announcement of Christine's divorce. People who stopped watching have jumped back in, etc. Meri moving to Parowan means that if they film the bulk of the talking heads in Christine's area, she's only 3 hours from there so she'd be more likely to be included, although there is not much to film with Meri until the show timeline catches up to the official "divorce" announcement she and Kody recently made. Despite her protestations to the contrary, I always assumed Meri would one day move to the BnB. There was nothing for her in Flagstaff except filming - and trees. -
Robyn Brown: She wanted the family, but got stuck with the man.
Teafortwo replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
At a restaurant across the street from Initech! -
So at what point do we think this show became just a show about a dude with four baby mamas who all (barely) tolerate each other but who mostly want their kids to be raised together? My guess is the moment Robyn caught Kody's eye.

Christine Brown Woolley: Nacho Sister Wife Anymore
Teafortwo replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
I agree the drawing was a horrid idea and a slap in the face to the OG family, especially Christine and her kids. However, I've also seen one of the documentaries about the FLDS and although AUB is a different sect, in the FLDS it's apparently a common practice to erase the first husband from children's lives/existence/the family etc. Extrapolating from that, this may have seemed to Robyn an acceptable or even normative thing to do, if she were really indoctrinated into fundamentalist Mormonism. Still creepy af. And Logan's shocked reaction (covered by laughter) speaks volumes. ETA also by this point in the show, after being more exposed to mainstream culture for several years, you'd think Robyn would have absorbed some info as to what is socially acceptable in a non-fundamentalist world. (I hit post instead of edit and ended up quoting myself -

Janelle's latest instagram post (about Plex-ucch, natch) is accompanied by a song called "Check it Out." The band's name? "Oh the Larceny." I wish I were making this up, but I'm not. -
Christine Brown Woolley: Nacho Sister Wife Anymore
Teafortwo replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
I noticed something odd in this video, which Christine posted yesterday on her Instagram stories (so it's likely no longer available): in one shot, the kitchen cabinets behind her are light brown/tan. In a different shot, they are white and have different handles. I did notice that the stove is a very nice "chef's kitchen" kind of gas stove. (I don't know the right word for those high-end gas stoves.) ETA omg I did not notice the toaster until @ginger90 pointed it out, and now I am also seeing it is PLUGGED IN! I've never had Christine's fear of toasters but I always unplug mine after use. Just in case. Same with the iron.
