Kody Brown: The Man Who Survived a KNIFE to the KIDNEYS!
Teafortwo replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
I stand corrected (wasn't paying close attention when I watched the live). However, as a subscriber to Gwen's Patreon, I would never have posted the video that Gwen intended only for her Patreon subscribers. -
Kody Brown: The Man Who Survived a KNIFE to the KIDNEYS!

Gwen said on a patreon live that K&R were late, but did not say how late. She also said she walked down the aisle alone, because if she had asked anyone other than her dad to walk her, it would have made unpleasant waves (paraphrasing). -
Gwen did a livestream today for her Patreon subscribers. She said Maddie wanted to come and they texted back and forth about how much she was going to miss not being there. Gwen was cool with it. The most interesting thing is that R&K were not in the big family photo we all saw. Because they were LATE. Remember Logan's graduation?

I noticed that in both the Season 17 and Season 18 promo shots, they are wearing the same clothes. If you zoom in, you can see the same texture on the shirt Christine is wearing, although the colors on everyone's clothing have been dimmed down. ETA I see @YupItsMe noted this as well.

Thrive Without Janelle: The Accountability Group
Teafortwo replied to LilWharveyGal's topic in Sister Wives
This is very minor, but another example of lack of attention to medical details was that I had a skin biopsy of my right thigh (when I had the rash that led to my autoimmune dx). But the report lists it as left thigh. Fortunately when I had a tumor in my left breast, they operated on the correct side. Same with my cataract surgery (left eye only). LOL -
Christine and Janelle's meeting takes place in the same restaurant as Christine and Kody's meeting. With Christine living in Utah, it's possible she returned to film for just a few days. Idk if that's Halloween decor or just the restaurant's wallpaper or painted walls. ETA: I believe that is Gwen next to Christine, not Ysabel.

I hate to say it, but some of this drama seems a tad manufactured. I have to wonder if it really went down this way. It's pretty shocking to hear Janelle say "shut your f-ing mouth." It's also out of character imo. Guess we'll have to wait and see if they show the whole scene leading up to that. That said, I'm psyched it's coming back on 8/20!!

Christine Brown Woolley: Nacho Sister Wife Anymore
Teafortwo replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
This is going to sound sexist, but so be it. I wonder why, now that Christine is marrying David, who seems financially successful through legitimate work (he owns a drywall company according to his recent Instagram post), she's continuing the Plexiglass grift. I can see her continuing to do the cooking show if she's having fun with it. She has the show money coming in and could spend the rest of her time enjoying her and David's grandkids, maybe work on a cookbook, etc. instead of "selling." I would feel very differently about this if Christine had a legitimate career. I would never suggest anyone with a career or job they enjoy should give it up when they get married. But as others have pointed out, MLM is not a job, it's a grift. -
TL;dr: I had to switch docs and I don't like the new one, but I have a chronic illness for which there are very few qualified care providers. My rheumatologist left town recently. Last time I saw him, in March, he said the person who was replacing him had no interest in my particular auto-immune disease, and he recommended someone who has probably the best reputation of anyone in NYC as far as treatment of and research into my illness but it turns out he does not take any insurance. I discovered that a colleague of the "top doc" does take insurance, so I made an appt with her. I saw her on Friday. Her first words to me were "Why are you here?" I was stunned and very put off. I had already had my records sent to her office two weeks before, her assistant had just taken my history and entered it in their system, after which I waited for awhile to see the doc. I explained what I have but she still pushed, why her and not someone else? I explained that my doc had recommended her colleague but I can't afford to pay out of pocket, especially not for someone I have to see at least 3x/year, usually more often. She then said that the rheumatology dept at the hospital where I saw my former doc was poor. (It's a major NYC teaching hospital where I've received excellent care from a large team of specialists.) I know that her team does research on my disease, and are really the only group that does so in NYC, and she did spend almost an hour with me, but the whole thing was very strange and off-putting. I looked up the new doc that was hired to replace my former one. Even if he doesn't have an interest in my disease and is very young, he's written a lot and even edited a book of essays on the future of rheumatology, with a former colleague of his that is one of the leading specialists on my disease in the US. I listened to a podcast where he and the older specialist were interviewed, and he more than held his own. I don't know if it's the right thing to do, but I'm keeping my appt with him and if I like him, I might just stick with him. Very little is known about my illness in any case, and maybe he would consult with more knowledgeable docs if he were uncertain of the best course of treatment. The woman doc did respond quickly to some questions I emailed her today (after she wrote me about some test results). But I just can't seem to shake that first impression. I really do not want to see a doctor that frequently who seemed so cold. If she had just said "How can I help you today?" or something like that, I would have felt so much more comfortable from the beginning. "Why are you here?" Well, because I'm supposed to have extensive blood tests every 3-4 months, I'm on medication that may need to be increased based on my recent symptoms, my doctor just left NYC." Is it bad to pick a doctor based on niceness, rather than an expert, when one has a potentially life-threatening (if not managed properly) illness? That's what I'm asking myself now. If a symptom or test result is misinterpreted by an inexperienced doctor, I could be in real trouble. But it's difficult enough managing my symptoms, treatment, appointments, tests. To have someone I just don't like as the point person for coordinating care with the other specialists is not good. I felt a total lack of compassion from this doctor, where my other ones have all been great.

Christine Brown Woolley: Nacho Sister Wife Anymore

I'm no gourmet cook, but I am able to make a decent banana bread by reading a recipe, using bananas with brown spots, cutting by 2/3 the amount of sugar any recipe calls for (or even less). I haven't made it in awhile but last summer I made it 3x. Maybe I should do a cooking show and invite Christine to watch? -

Yes, and at the time Annie was living with them, so there would still have been an adult around. -

They all look so happy in the pix, but boy does this family need SUNSCREEN. ETA: wonder who took the first pic? TLC anyone? -
I was prepared to like the book. I ended up blaming the flaws on lack of editing, in my review. The setting and some of the characters were well-drawn. My objections were mostly on a linguistic level (syntax etc).

Gwen has said she won't go anywhere that Paedon is, so for me the question is, which of them attends their mom's wedding? My guess is Gwen, since Paedon has said some odd things about David (that he wouldn't fight him, etc.) As for Leon, my guess is Christine would invite them (and Audrey) but that they won't attend. I see no reason why Meri would be invited, or Robyn/Kody and the 5 tenders. I hope that if Christine's girls are bridesmaids, that she invites Savanah to be a bridesmaid as well. I could see Aspyn as her matron of honor, with Annie walking her down the aisle. Imo, grifting aside, this is a love match. -
Lol that was me. [ETA It wasn't; mine hasn't been approved yet I guess]. I used an alias, just in case she reads those, for fear she'd recognize my real first name (in my original post here I noted that she's an email acquaintance through my job). ETA: you're an excellent sleuth. Thank you for not publishing the title. I purposely left it out. concerned my post could end up in a search engine somehow.

Please if there are straps, let them be shoulder straps, not arm ones. I think Mykelti should be required to sing. Lol -

Ok so idk who this is but I feel like I should. The dress fits well and is very flattering of course, but I have to say I still do not like those arm band thingies. -
I've never understood why people want to wear non-breathable fabric. My favorite leggings were the old Danskins. Unfortunately Danskin has stopped making them with cotton too.
-
I rarely wear one anymore either! Since my dx with an autoimmune disease for which the meds make my skin thinner, I stopped because they leave red marks, even sports bras. If I did not work from home, however, I probably would wear one of the latter just to avoid weird looks.
-
Well, Meri always was very organized.... She seems to enjoy her "bff Jenn" and her friend Blair, so there's that. Plus I bet she sees a lot of her sister and nephews (one young nephew was on an episode during the pandemic phase that saw Leon and Audrey at the bnb. She has a big family outside of the TV one. Who knows if she's on good terms with them, but at least those relationships were not filmed.
-
I remember a godawful picture of beautiful Aspyn in a bathing suit several years ago. Just so so unflattering. The need for support seems to run in this family.

I've been watching Gwen's rewatch videos. She's mentioned she's getting married next month, that her mother would never get married in the same month, and that although she and Bea were open to having it filmed, TLC is not planning to do so. That may have changed for the reasons enumerated above (thanks @Ms.Lulu) but I doubt it. I'll be surprised if Kody attends. I'd imagine he is more than offended by Gwen's public airing of her feelings and other details about her childhood. You're right though, he'd be front and center if it involved money and the right kind of attention. For him.
