I do too. It cannot have been easy growing up in that situation for any of them, but particularly for someone on the spectrum but not diagnosed. Another failure of health/well-being care from the parents. But then, Kody is on record denying that Dayton is too ("he's quirky). Blech.

Gwen did say that she'd been recently diagnosed (since starting therapy) as being on the spectrum. Likely had something to do with her past behavior that seemed grating. Doesn't mean you or anyone has to like her, of course. Just gives some context.

I listened to some of it, fast-forwarding through a lot. When Tony started talking about "history" (or rather, his avowed belief in what he termed a "conspiracy theory" regarding the 1940s), I noped out and unsubscribed from their Patreon. Just so it does not auto-renew next month. The same video was posted publicly on YouTube anyway. I'm not sure he and Mykelti realize people pay for Patreon for early and/or "exclusive" content before it is shared with non-patrons. I thought Tony was just goofy and amusing, but his views are benighted (whether about Kody or infamous world historical figures) and I am no longer amused.

I think Kody wanted to delay Mykelti's wedding so it could be fodder for the following season of the show.

That's disgusting - I am truly sorry you experienced that. You are saving lives every day. Reminds me: a sonogram tech detected a tiny breast tumor that turned out to be cancerous. The mammogram did not pick it up. I sent the sono tech a Christmas card (sent one to the radiologist as well) following my surgery. The tech wrote to me that in 20-plus years of doing her job, not one other patient had ever sent her a card of any kind. ETA to bring this back to the topic: I feel that because Kody and the moms essentially monetized their children, who were not paid for their participation by TLC, those adult children are entitled to try to monetize the fallout. I do agree with posters who are pointing out that it may not be wise for them to approach it as they are, but I don't blame them for wanting to cash in on fan interest while they can. The current slang term for this is "get that bag" meaning go for the dough.

But did any of us really buy that this was a big happy family and that polygamy was not problematic, from the beginning? I think many in the audience were waiting for what we saw as a facade, to eventually drop. The fall has been spectacular!

Comments were enabled during the livestream, and plenty of people called M & T out on their point of view and attempted to engage them about Kody and Robyn's hypocrisy and inconsistencies.

Oh I agree. In this livestream, she and Tony are total apologists for Robyn and in large part for Kody as well. I actually find Tony and Mykelti quite entertaining, despite (or because of) their delusional sucking up. However I expect the entertainment value to wear thin pretty quickly.

I added a lot to my comment above - it was actually very interesting - biased, but revealing. Tony did say at the end that he feels a father should always take responsibility for reaching out to his kids if there are any issues, whether the kids are adults or not.

Watching Mykelti and Kody's livestream rewatch of "Coronapocalypse" on their Patreon and they are completely defending Robyn (and Kody). They're essentially trying to counteract all the backlash. It's quite stunning. I bet Kody put them up to it. They say Robyn's tears are real but she doesn't want to smear her makeup, doesn't want to look unattractive on camera. They say there was no physical abuse between Kody and Christine, but that they emotionally abused each other in equal measure. ETA they are totally whitewashing the housing situation that has Robyn in a giant home and Janelle in an RV followed by a tiny rental. And they are contradicting themselves - saying it's hard to find a house or a rental in Flagstaff, limited availability - but also that Janelle loves cozy spaces and wouldn't want anything big. Tony even tried comparing Christine's and Robyn's house, saying that Christine's house was large also. Also Mykelti said that when her mom moved to "Murray" (town near Salt Lake) she had just barely given birth to Avalon, but when they filmed the scene of her arriving at the new townhouse, Mykelti wasn't there because she was already heavily pregnant with the boys. After they were done watching the episode, Mykelti answered a question about her childhood. She said they were so poor when they lived in Wyoming, that they ate day-old bread from a bakery that Winn owned. And they ate MREs - she said Kody stockpiled MREs. She also said she and Paedon are very close and that Kody was a better father to the older kids, because "as the kids multiplied it got harder" to be a good father for so many kids.

I could see them moving "for Dayton" as an excuse to sell Coyote Pass and the mansion. But seems to me the omission of Dayton from discussion and on-camera appearances is at Dayton's request. I hope he's following Logan's playbook.

Furthermore, in an early episode Meri asks Kody hypothetically how he'd feel if she'd had an affair, and he says "the vulgarity of the idea of you with another lover" etc. If he'd discovered years before this convo, that Meri was having an affair, there's no way she would have initiated this topic.
-
It does make her a fit with a son-in-law who refers to his kids' sex lives the way Kody did (so gross I don't want to repeat it). Regarding Robyn praying for a "rennal": I've always thought that she and Kody cooked up that supposed feud as a way to try to restore Robyn's reputation, by "blaming" Kody for the purchase. After all, she was the audience's "scapegoat."

It must be to rule out any but the most die-hard (and extremely wealthy) fan. If she can have 5 guests paying almost nothing and one paying 4-6K that more than covers her costs.
-
Paedon did an earlier interview where he said that per his mother, he was not allowed to talk about Meri (and Robyn). I wonder why he's "allowed" now - or is he defying his mom and perhaps TLC?
-
I'd consider it, for $200/night. Maybe $225 if it was 3 meals/day. ETA: After seeing those photos of the food, forget it.

Someone posted this on Reddit. I'm putting it here because that's technically social media: https://hayleycakesandcookies.com/product/sister-wife-cookies/

I think Ginger90 was referring to Robyn's remark that she treats Kody like her 'best customer."

Actually in this case, you can keep it if "defective" and get a replacement item!

I'm came on to say exactly this!

This "reset" is about selling product, imo. -
Janelle Brown: Smarter Than Your Average Brown (Maybe)

I have similar thoughts about Janelle and I think she is genuinely happy. I've noticed that a lot of women of similar age or a bit older, are not that interested in finding another man after they've lost their husbands (through death or divorce). Janelle got five very cool kids out of this marriage (not including Madison, who is the least impressive but they are close), and a best friend who helped raise her kids and knows what she went through being married to Kody. The only thing she lacks is financial independence. I wish she would try to achieve it through something other than a toxic chemical brew but I guess she's as entitled as any of them to try to optimize her minor fame. I'm looking forward to hearing more from her next season. If I were her I'd move back to Las Vegas but she seems to like the more rural feel of Flagstaff. I'm not sure I believe that she really wants to live alone on "the property" though. I think she wants/needs her fair share of the investment but that's it. -
I think TLC is happy with his disgusting, misogynist comments. They create strong emotions in the mostly female audience and that means ratings! I agree Suki does not seem all that familiar with the show but I think the producers are getting what they wanted by letting Kody be Kody.

Thrive Without Janelle: The Accountability Group
Teafortwo replied to LilWharveyGal's topic in Sister Wives
Welcome back, @Gramto6 !! We were all so concerned about you. Thank you for updating us. I'm so relieved to hear you're okay and that rehab helped. What an ordeal! I'm so glad you're back and I second what others have said. Go slow, and call on local friends for help when you need it. Best wishes for ongoing healing.
