Kody keeps acting like lawyers aren't necessary and the women are punishing him. He doesn't want any lawyers involved because he knows he can't get away with anything with them. I love Jenn telling Meri to get her FAIR share. She needs to keep on Meri to be strong in what she wants which is her fair share of the property. 9,116 steps yesterday. Out of 16 hours walking only 3 were under 250 steps/hr according to my step counter, most well over. My back is aching, I think the cold is settling in from working outside a bit too much. With just light showers today, I shouldn't have to do much outside today so I can rest some.

The cursive in some of these really old papers does take some deciphering skills. It has lots of big circles and tails on letters and exaggerated forms, sometimes it is a guess, taking the context of the sentence, to make out a word. For this project which was 3 pages long, the further into it I got, I started to recognize patterns in letters and could then make out words somewhat easier. This was information dear to my heart, not sure doing bills of laden or other unrelated business documents from the 1800's or earlier would be as fun!

Thanks for that link! Fascinating stuff. I didn't know there was actually a "job" doing these translations. I spent a lot of time transcribing a zerox copy of a letter my Great-Grandfather wrote home to his wife May 7, 1865. He was an officer in the Army and had gone to the internment of President Lincoln in Springfield, IL with a group of 12 officers. He described everything about the ceremony and even sent her a sprig of evergreen that was taken out of the vault where Lincoln's remains were placed! I wonder whatever became of that! It was a very moving letter to read as I have always had a soft spot for Lincoln. My Great -Grandfather described much of the surroundings which was fascinating. Of and the service he said: "Everything seemed to give an expression of perfect solemnity, and yet was sublimely grand." It was a very moving experience for me to read of this through my Great-Grandfather's eyes!!

9,168. steps yesterday. Surprised by the number. Spent a good part of the morning yesterday moving a storage shelf from my office into the kitchen and arranging all the cat food cases on it. It is a nice shiny chrome rack, counter height, and looks nice in the kitchen. It really tidies up the clutter of all the cans that were stacked around the fireplace in the kitchen. (An old white enamel stove that was used for burning paper by the previous owners. I don't use it as it doesn't seem safe.) That was a bigger project than I thought but glad I did it! Besides moving things around, my friend came over for a visit and we sat and talked for a while so I really thought my number would be lower yesterday. I guess the back and forth from office to kitchen added more steps than I thought. Nothing on the agenda today except the ever present, growing laundry...

8,944 steps yesterday. More walking inside yesterday. It was still very icy outside. It is freezing fog this morning, 11°F when I went out to feed the cats, but this afternoon it is again supposed to be mostly sunny. A cold front is dropping down from Canada the next few days but fortunately for me the brunt of the cold, (sorry for the folks in the East) is going to be further East. Our temps are going down quite a bit as a result. Another quiet day. It is still very icy outside, so walking inside again today. I think I am going to fill another couple garbage bags for the Goodwill. I'll take them when I go to podiatrist early Feb.

I was out after the first show, but was at that point willing to give it one more chance. However the ensuing ads turned me off so much that I decided first decision was the best choice. Now, all I will do is come here and see what everyone else has to say. Even with Anne, the last few seasons have been more clown show than cooking show...

8,761 steps yesterday. Yesterday's steps were mostly done inside. It was still too icy to walk anywhere outside. Can't risk a fall of any kind! 31° was the high yesterday, it was mostly clear. It was all clear at night which made it even colder and the small amount of snow that had melted has turned to slick ice. It is pretty treacherous walking outside so again, most of my walking will be inside.! Today's forecast is 37°/24° and cloudy. The piles of snow aren't going anywhere soon. Nothing particular on the agenda, but things always seem to come up. I know the last Chewy box is coming today so that is the only "chore" I know I will have to do!

9,191 steps yesterday. Just the short grocery run yesterday for getting out. Still too cold and icy to venture out to the paths. Today looks to be even a bit colder so probably won't be venturing out to walk again today either. The sun is nice outside so may go out just around the house a bit but that is it. Rest of my walking will be inside.

9,022 steps yesterday. As long as I don't have a lot of snow to shovel, I think I am almost all the way back from leg injury. We do show a few nice days still for this week so I am going to try to get out and go to my newly found walking area at the Wildlife Refuge. Taking the garbage up to the road and a quick grocery run to fill in some wet cat food until that part of Chewy order arrives Thursday. The dry food part of the order is coming today.

I thought we had seen the "loving" couple sitting commenting on how "happy" they were for Christine before. This is one big re-run so far. I'm sure we'll see the "mosh pit" again too.....
