  1. 5,256 steps yesterday. Getting ready to begin trapping. Today will be lots of steps, first with the final set up of the food and water in the garage. Then setting traps with food and then loading ones caught in vans to go to the vet. Then more set up more traps, wash/repeat. I just hope we catch a lot today. It's breaking my heart to see all my kitties gathered at the door wanting their breakfasts. My friend won't be here until 10ish I hope the kitties haven't scattered by then looking for mice! This is so stressful, I will be glad when it is done! @Yeah No I saw the post in Chit Chat didn't have time to reply there. Actually the reserve where the zebras were going is only about 2 hr and15min from where I live!!
  2. 7,075 steps yesterday. Lots of moving coolers, organizing the room, even put down a used carpet on the floor. I finished the "kitty condo". Turned it against the wall as we hung a tarp across the room so cats already there won't be as scared as we add cats, plus maybe they won't be so quick to make a dash to the door. What a day! Lots of running around getting things done! We got the door in yesterday still needs some tweaks. Today I need to set up the litter boxes, food and water stations and anything else we have forgotten. My friend is going to go get more traps today as we only have 8 at this point. If we catch 8 that need fixing we will be in a pickle with the rest of them. Chewy order arrives today so there is going to be 3 huge boxes to unload too. Also Amazon order comes today with a kibble feeder for the cats that will help keep them fed. Some photos as it stands now. Not completely done, but able to house kitties for the trapping time: The other photos are too large for this post, maybe they will post in another one. I'll try. ETA: I couldn't size any of the other ones enough to fit. I'll try taking some more later.
  3. @Absolom Me too!! Believe me!! 6,505 steps yesterday. Lots of steps at World Market/Cost Plus and Hobby Lobby before dentist appointment. Even with no steps for a whole hour while spending 1.5 hrs in dentist chair, I managed to get a lot of steps! My friend brought over a door that will work in evening. Today is going to be the last rush for building tweaks and tomorrow all the set up inside. Sunday we begin trapping and that is going to be lots of steps and very tiring. They plan to trap Mon through Wed. Hopefully we get them all by then. (I remember I had close to, and one day over 10,000 steps last Sept when we did this before!) Mix all that in with a Gastro appt on Mon morning! I expect to be totally exhausted by the end of next week! But hopefully all kitties will be fixed and liking their new "kitty hostel"!
  4. That would have been my hope, but, if in fact the seasons were filmed back to back due to costs, I don't see much chance of that. My hope would be that they waited a bit at least, to see how the show was received before going with the same format again.
  5. 5,467 steps yesterday. Quiet day, didn't do much. Scheduled appt with my Broker to sign some papers after my dentist appt tomorrow. Put together some things for cat home and did some browsing on Amazon. The break in work is helping my body that is for sure!
  6. That's great!! You are AMAZING too! You've done a lot to get where you are now!
  7. Yeah, I had high hopes we'd never see another season of this show! Not going to be a regular watcher. I will check in on the first episode and if it is the same as before that will be it for me!! I'll read here what those that do watch have to say.
  8. Darn! I missed it. Hope they run a rerun at some point. I have to pay better attention to my listings!
  9. First thing that come to my mind is the moment when Ducky finally hugs his long lost brother, that he thought had died.
  10. The Mothership and then NCIS:NOLA. (Love me some Scott Bakula!)
  11. In order of favorite: Fornell Gibbs dad Delilah Agent Borin Diane
  12. 5,733 steps yesterday. Garbage up the road and a grocery run. No work on cat home yesterday, my friend's shoulder is really bothering her. Old injury from falling off a roof when she had her construction company. Rest and ice she says will fix her up in a few days. Can't say that the rest isn't good for me too, my hands and back are so sore the rest will do me well too. Just hoping the cats take a rest too!! I have been thinking about you and worrying some too! Have missed your posts, glad to see you posting again! Thanks it has been a very hard project and both of us are feeling it. the end is near for at least to start trapping. The trims and final detailing can wait till later.
  13. 4,830 steps yesterday. Not much going on yesterday, my friend hurt her arm Saturday so couldn't come over yesterday. Today, if not better she will be going to dr. Probably won't be able to start trapping for another week. I did do a couple of stencils in the cat house, gathered garbage and did a laundry so had some low keyed exercise. It was probably a good thing for me too.
  14. Late to post, got busy and forgot. 5,797 steps yesterday. Lots of tidying up in garage and last minute tweaks. All I need now is a door between the two spaces. Hopefully my friend was able to put something together that is serviceable for now. And replace glass in window. Almost done, enough to hold TNR cats. But my friend hurt her arm yesterday so no work today. Still just lacking door and window. This is what it looks like now with the mesh up and walls all finished: This shot is from the car side, it shows the mesh the best.
  15. I don't know about gunshot wounds, but when I had a bunch of teeth extracted the dentist said if it started bleeding again later to bite on a tea bag. Black tea, not green or herbal tea. And it worked! So I guess it could work for other bleeding wounds in a pinch as a temporary remedy.
  16. 4,559 steps yesterday. Raining most of the day yesterday, both my knees were really aching from the damp. Didn't do much myself, but my friend got the mesh up. Unfortunately breaking a window that was probably cracked by a bird that flew into garage a couple days ago. I'm worried about pieces of glass in the grass outside as that is one of the cat trails they use to get around the yard. Not sure we are going to make tomorrow's start day. Lots of clean up needed in cat area and then set up beds, food, litter boxes...
  17. @pinkandsparkly13 so sorry about your sweet dog! About the kittens, mama will bring them out to you when they get a bit older. My feral cats did that too went someplace secret (under the house) and when they were fluffy and getting around well on their own, one by one over a few days one would pop up from under the deck.
  18. Thanks! You and me both!! Being Spring, they have really increased their ranges. As meal time here brings them home, they will find traps with sardines inside waiting for them. Once fixed they go into the "cat house" to wait with the already fixed. And when no more come to eat...hopefully all will be well with my colony.
  19. 5,136 steps yesterday. Gathering blankets and getting them ready for the "houses" in the garage and making 4 more box houses was about the extent of what I did yesterday. My friend was working on the supports for the storage on top of the wall and some painting. Today the green fencing will go up and then we have to find a door for between the sides of the garage. She said she may have something usable in her "collection" of building stuff she has accumulated over the years with her business. We're getting close to an almost "finished", just enough to start trapping.Hoping that by Sunday we can start!
  20. I don't remember how I found TWoP and just vaguely remember my user name. I scrolled through more threads than a sane person should to see if anything jogged my brain, but no luck. Anyway I enjoyed it and stayed away from most of the weirdness. I was probably in Bates Motel, Dr Who, Amazing Race, Big Brother and maybe a couple more. At that point I was pretty new to forums and didn't post a lot at first. As far as all the "rules" I did kind of like the 15/15 rule for reasons already mentioned. I do it basically out of courtesy to posters. I did it here in this very thread reading all the past posts before posting. TWoP did get tense after a while and when it was announced they were folding I landed here and haven't looked back!
  21. 6,432 steps yesterday. Kind of a lazy day. We have a goal of finishing the garage enough for holding the cats that have been fixed by Sunday so we can begin the trapping. I really need to get it done before babies start coming. I made some shelter boxes to put inside so they have places to hide and sleep. I've been gathering blankets to put inside them since they won't be exposed to the weather they will work fine to make they cozy. It is going to be a busy next few days! I will sure be glad when the kitties are all fixed and construction is done! Life can settle back into normal...whatever that is!! 😸
  22. 4,866 steps yesterday. It took longer to drive to the DMV than I spent there renewing my license!! Sooo different from the same experience in CA!! I guess one reason is we are small population wise, 1,132,800 people in the state in 2023. That is one of the things I like about here!! I was the only person in the office for 10 out of the 15 minutes or so it took. One person came in just before I left. I remember the hours it would often take when I lived in CA!! Turned out to be a rather lazy day all in all and I think I needed it! No heavy work today either, it is my friend's day at the TNR shelter. I may do some stenciling...
  23. Thanks for the links @Yeah No! I appreciate it! I think that it was a mistake to take her off The Kitchen but maybe cost was a real issue. For me, there is no reason to even check the show out any more. And I wouldn't miss it a bit if it went off the air. I am glad that FN is not just letting her go altogether. With the exception of Ciao House, I really like all her other shows. She brings a great deal of knowledge to the shows and is a credit to the network overall.
  24. I suppose that could be true, but I'd like to see it from a reliable source. Re Ciao House, sigh, yeah I saw an ad for it on Wildcard Kitchen. I think more likely than being fired, with Supermarket Stakeout and Ciao House shows she was just too busy for The Kitchen.
  25. I've seen that one, very clever! The French guy says something like how about a cheese platter?
