  1. I didn't mean the spoilers. just MG saying it was a game-changer. Everything here was by-the-numbers, from Oliver going after Ra's, to the offer, to Felicity hooking up with Ray.
  2. Was there anything we didn't guess beforehand? So much for jaw-dropping and shocking. Along with many in the audience. I can't believe the stupid in having Felicity actually sleep with Ray. Way to make one of the two remaining likable characters unlikable. Way to turn people off Ray/The Atom, your new superhero.
  3. Malcolm's already put her on the path to becoming him by having her kill Sara. As Diggle said, once you start working with him, it's the first step on being him. Malcolm not only killed Robert, who Thea thought was her father, but has tried to kill Oliver himself at least 4 times. He kidnapped Walter, who Thea looked on as a father, and terrorized Moira as well as killing Tommy and levelling the Glades. The idea that this is a good man for Thea to have in her life is just nuts, which Oliver appears to be at this point. It's a strange time when Laurel and Thea make more sense than Oliver does. I think they did that with Laurel in s2 because they didn't know what to do with her. With Felicity and Ray, it's trying to build The Atom spin-off, and to a lesser extent, removing the moral conscience of the team so Oliver can be an idiot.
  4. He didn't know that Fyers was going to kill him though, that was a shock for everyone. He probably thought that Fyers was going to make him work for them or put him in prison again. Then, if he could get Shado away, he'd have a fighting chance of getting out himself.
  5. From the clip, it looks like Felicity loses the argument with Oliver and Diggle because she tells Ray "At least someone does". And there he is, telling her how much he needs her and feels for her. I'm convinced that MG and AK see this as honoring Felicity, but they need to talk to some different romance writers. Crowd scene. DR is s smart guy and he knows what people want and since we're not going to get it, he doesn't want to lie outright like MG does. I see what he's trying to do but again, it's Oliver making stupid decisions like he has all season. He's taking away Thea's agency again and making decisions for her based on how he feels but 1. she didn't go through everything he did and 2. she's the daughter of Moira "do whateven you have to to protect your family" Queen.
  6. And that's after people came back when the second last episode was so good.
  7. Fortunately, Mary has a nice new bob that's much easier to take care of, and she's not planning on having unmarried sex any time soon. So maybe she can do without Anna for a few days.
  8. Freud would have a heyday with these guys, with their Oliver/Batman and Ray/Ironman projections.
  9. Marc Guggenheim said they spent a lot of money on the Atom costume, and it's so cool, it like it comes from a movie. Okay, I understand that's why we don't get to see Thea's apartment beyond the greatroom, or Felicity's beyond the living rooom. and we have no idea where Roy lives these days (his old house in the Glades?) and we won't see Big Belly Burger again because it's now Jitters. But good writing doesn't cost any more than bad writing and there's no excuse Thea and Felicity never having shared a scene other than a group one, or Diggle's apparent estrangement from Felicity since the last time they had a scene together was in Left Behind.
  10. The question was And the answer was "Keep watching". So I"d say yes, they're going with the cliche or he would have said "we're never going to just do the cliches". I"m beginning to thing that the only thing that will get through is if people stop watching. It was an intelligent, respectful question, and he just dismissed it. Except Goffman was forced to fix his show under threat of cancellation. We're not so lucky with Arrow.
  11. Tonight is the last episdose of Agent Carter, and I'm sad because I like it a lot more than Agents of SHIELD. Better storytelling; maybe it's the lack of focus on superheroes and powers, and just the focus on heroes doing a great job. I'm going to refer to it as the Sleepy Hollow Salvation (as opposed to the Moonlighting Curse), when a show realizes what's wrong and saves itself in time to get a renewal (hopefully). I wish the Arrow EPs would se that instead of "we're giving you what you need, not what you want". I started worrying when they upped Katia Winter to full time status after last season and I was right. For the first time all season, I enjoyed a couple of episodes of Sleepy Hollow.
  12. I assume that's it, the intros that the presenters read and anything that wasn't the musical numbers and the jokes NPH did. I'm kind of glad they didn't write his jokes, considering how much he bombed. Berlanti was also one of the writers of Green Lantern. This could explain why the show wasn't funny, sometimes they get it, but a lot of times they don't. I wonder if MG resented it that he wasn't asked to write for it too.
  13. EBR has been able to sell the most ridiculous lines ("I don't want to be a woman you love") so maybe she can make this make sense too. I wonder if Brandon Routh took his concerns to the EPs, or if he's just glad to have the opportunity of a spin-off so he's trying to make a silk purse out of the pig's ear writing.
  14. Except for the action in Corto Maltese, TSOOF and the cross-overs, I think it was. "Sara" was anything but a love letter to the character and the second time Felicity cried but sadly not the last. The Magician was Oliver being an idiot and letting Malcolm go, and Guilty was a mess trying to fit Laurel's origin story in with Roy's. And let's not even get into Draw Back Your Bow, which had a good villain but an awful triangle plotline where Diggle completely sides with Oliver leaving Felicity dangling, solidifying the break-up of the O/D/F team that was so great before. What would save this season for me? Felicity and Oliver talking, Felicity, Oliver and Diggle finally talking and being on the same page. No Raylicity, I want Felicity to be Ray's Diggle, not his love interest. Thea becomes Speedy and she and Roy occasionally drop by to help but not always because it's way too crowded in the Arrow cave. Ray finds another show to be awesome on, and Laurel decides to fight with Wildcat rather than Team Arrow. Nope, not gonna happen.
  15. Not only is Ray not getting a positive reaction on his own, he's breaking up the most popular couple the show has. The most chemistry-couple on TV according to the People's Choice poll. It's not like we haven't been telling the EPs that we would like Ray more if he didn't get between Oliver and Felicity. What are they thinking????? Laurel isn't doing anything particularly stupid this week, as far as we know, whereas Oliver is about to save the man who killed Sara.
  16. Meyers was funny 'here are the dates, now leave us alone'. It was a good segment though, they both have humor and energy (Kristin Stewart on The Daily Show was a nightmare). I wonder when SA will get his SNL gig. I wonder if Seth Meyers will mention him to Lorne Michaels. (Youtube apparently has everything, including a preSNL Lorne Michaels on his own sketch comedy show.) SA is very popular among fans and I don't think the show honors that as it should. Arrow wouldn't have made it past the pilot if not for him, nor past season 1 if not for him, David Ramsey and EBR. They don't use DR as they should (now he should be on a talk show recounting vignettes) and they abuse EBR's by using her to prop new characters they want us to like (Barry, Ray) and to get older characters accepted (Laurel).
  17. So the line " It’s hard to imagine there was ever a time when I was in love with you.” really is Laurel to Oliver? I'd guess the one at the end of 312 when Oliver comes back and Felicity walks out on him. He teased it for a long time as the best Olicity scene of the season. They would be stupid to because if they're going Raylicity, they need something to give Olicity shippers to come back to the show for. And at this point, Oliver thinking of Felicity as he's tortured, or Diggle talking to him about her isn't going to cut it. They've already done both, neither really worked all that well and things have been so bad, shippers are going to need more. Same here. MG may be all about "giving viewers what they need, not what they want" but I'm getting neither here. that. It's something you say to someone that you kind of hate and have been betrayed by, not someone you are mad at but still care for. I think the control is going to be Felicity in terms of Ray/the tech (e.g. getting him fed and into bed). At this point, I can't even imagine her wanted to have any control over that dumbass Oliver. Speaking of getting Ray into bed, I think I may throw up if she tenderly covers him and kisses him on the forehead.
  18. I think that needs to be tweeted to the EPs because right now, they just don't get it.
  19. jay, I'm sure you're right because he's looking very scruffy in those pictures. But I can see the EPs thinking that it's just so adorable, Felicity is babbling to Ray now like she did to Oliver. Ooooh, triangle. Not for me thanks. It's a sure-fire way to make me hate Ray and never watch an Atom spin-off.
  20. And that's when Ray says to her “Sometimes I forget we just work together.” Cue the cringing.
  21. A reminder that SA is going to appear on Seth Meyers show tonight. He's already taped it, so no backing out.
  22. 95% of the hate mail could have come from Laurel fans, although I think that's an exaggeration because the rest of us weren't sending much to him last year. Other than 2B, it was a good year for Team Arrow and Olicity. This year is a different story. I'd say there's a lot of love coming from Laurel fans, and a lot of dislike from O/D/F and Olicity likers.
  23. I'm not sure these people know what a secret is, and where one actually ends. As long as Oliver told Thea about killing Sara, why didn't he tell her about the video? Could have avoided this altogether.
  24. When i saw the producer's clip, I thought Oliver's reason for going after Malcolm was so that Thea wouldn't have to live with his death on her conscience. Could it be reprising Oliver and Sara in S2, or is that hoping for too much? Maybe he paid/forced some poor mant to take his place. On the other hand, nah. The offspring of Ra's al Ghul and Donna Smoak couldn't possibly have Felicity's tech brain. Please let this be Laurel to Oliver and not Felicity. Maybe that's the line that says Olicity is endgame. I'd be happy if at last we got Diggle on Felicity's side about working with MM. Wasn't Sara the one who said "I hate boats" last season? Are they going to give this to Laurel too, or will it be Oliver's now? I may throw up if it's that, which would be the cheesiest worst writing, which means it probably is.. Maybe it's Felicity worrying about Oliver again. Laurel to Oliver, angry that he's going to save the man who killed Sara.
