  1. My personal favorite was Cassian's beach holiday get up. I would wear that, and I am a 50 yo woman. I cannot deny that his shirtless bathroom scene wasn't nice to look at either ;-p Also, what was he doing there??? Guess I was distracted by the pecs........ I literally yelled out loud when I saw him come from behind the wall and choke him. I cannot wait! But what a sham - six years for basically looking around in a suspicious manner! No trial - just six years for basically doing nothing! Still, he might be safer in prison than with the empire looking for him and Vel now turning hit woman with him as her target..... I kind of loved when she went off in that meeting, and her co-worker got demoted. I feel like I see her turning on the empire more than Karn. I think the deeper she digs the more corruption she will find in the Empire. And what a catch she would be for the rebellion. Smart, fierce and tenacious. I thought the scene between Cassian and his mom was so wonderful. When he said "I would worry all the time" and she said "that's just love" I cried. She just summarized being a parent. For me, one of the most emotional scenes in any star wars show or movie. I absolutely love Fiona Shaw here. Cane in one hand and a gun in the other. That fighting spirit is the reason the Empire eventually fails. The argument between Luthen and Mon Mothma was great. I felt it was basically piss or get off the pot time for him, and she's not ready to come out of the shadows yet. I wonder if Dedra's digging is going to lead her to either of these characters? This show is jut killing it for me. I really enjoy all these show (well, not Boba Fett until Mando showed up), but this one is hitting the emotional beats and characterizations better even if it's been a slow burn. I love it.
  2. Really sorry to see Joseph go - he has a really nice personality and he and Daniella make a good team. I think one of favorite moments last night was when Alfonso was talking and Joseph walked behind him cradling Sasha - so dumb and funny! I would rather have seen Heidi or Jessie or Vinny go before Joseph. Bummer. WAAAAAYYYYNNNEEE! That was The Dance! I absolutely loved it - could not stop smiling while I was watching. That and his Hamilton dance are my favorites of the season. Fire!!!!! Shangela and Gleb are awesome - she was selling it and I was buying it! Fab! I don't usually like the Bachelorettes on this show but I kind of love Gabby - she's so wonderfully weird and funny. Voting for herself for prom queen, I appreciated her just jokingly (sort of) owning it. And props to her for being a nurse during the pandemic. That tango was great - glad she got the top score. Charli is very good, but man, when you compare her to the other three I mentioned, she just comes across a little robotic. I'm more interested in someone like Trevor who started so terribly and is getting better every week. I like seeing Emma really pushing him. Jordin was overscored, but I always think contemporary is on this show because they just don't know how to judge it. I wish the show would stop doing contemporary.
  3. 100!!!!!!!! Thank you! That's all I could think when I watched it. Same dance with 80% less personality!
  4. Let's not forget about Mark - production is anxious to secure his path to the finals as rumor has it he only agreed to come back if he had Charli. Gotta keep him happy and on board too. The fix is on! I am still salty Wayne was not given at least one 10 for last week - I felt his Hamilton dance was more emotional than this contemporary from Charli and Mark. I guess I have seen too many of these kind of dances from years of watching So You Think You Can Dance. I'm over it. I thought Gabby, Heidi, Travis, Shangela and Joseph had really good weeks. Daniel was fine, but again, I am tired of contemporary. Jessie is mediocre and forgettable. I can't remember anything about her dances as soon as she finishes dancing. Unfortunately, I feel kind of the same with Jordin even though I like her. I feel like she might be better if she had a better partner. I don't know what the judges are drinking with Vinny. He is absolutely terrible. I hope he goes tonight. Koko is adorable though. Selma leaving was sad - what a terrible disease! Prayers for rest and recuperation <3
  5. @katha - Thanks for the thoughtful analysis. I agree this show did a better job with the villain characterization. Your summary of the misdeeds of Galadriel make a lot of sense. Time will tell if they can bring it around, but unfortunately, I don't trust this show or the actress to make it work. I guess we'll see! I guess, but I just don't care enough about these characters to devote that much time to Nori leaving. I would have rather had more dwarves, or see where Isildur's horse went ;-p
  6. Thank you. This whole plot seems crazy to me! Warrior Galadriel who doesn't trust anyone (including the actual Queen of Numenor who should be seen as an elf ally) is suddenly like "you are the king of the Southlands!" even though he was all "No I'm not. No I'm not. Okay, sure". And then all of the villagers cheering some guy they've never seen because an elf says "He's your king!", yet side eyed Arondir when he showed up and completely untrusting of Bronwyn (who lives in their village!) until she hefted an orc head onto the counter. Just terrible characterization all around. It's also probably bad that I was actually happy to see Sauron show up Galadriel after her sneering hubris for most of this show. His demeanor shift was so subtle but effective. I am loving him. Is it wrong to want to root for Sauron now because Charlie Vickers is so delightful? Boy you said it. I never thought she would leave! I feel like they wanted to portray the emotion of Frodo saying goodbye to the Shire at the end of the last movie, but here it just isn't earned at all. Fifteen hugs. I swear it was the third age by the time Nori walked up the hill to him.....
  7. Same! I am struggling with all of the middle of the pack teams, except for the cheerleaders who I quite like. Nobody is horrible (with the exception of the two whiners this week) but nobody stands out either. I cannot fathom the hideous attitudes of Sharik and Dom. I really wish there could have been a double elimination. I feel bad for Sharik's dad, but she doesn't deserve this opportunity. And bitching about that roadblock which was tedious but not hard? I don't feel like they will be around much longer because she will have to do more than this one roadblock. Contrast these two women's attitudes with Tall Wife/Short Husband (sorry no names for most yet!) who were dead last at the start of this leg, but just kept trying. Love the brothers and sisters.
  8. Thank you for saying this - I feel like Star Wars fans are hard to please and very critical, and most of the time I love all of it. I sometimes feel like I'm the only one. It makes it even sweeter when one of the shows lives up to the hype!
  9. Totally agree, especially after the conversation with the General when he said "you will hang for this" and Gorn said "I've worked for you for six years - I deserve worse". I was sad Nemik died. I thought it was telegraphed pretty obviously since the manifesto, but when he made it onto the ship I thought "oh! I was wrong!", then he got crushed and I was like "no, I was right!", then they found him alive and took him to a doctor and I was like "it's star wars - they can make him half robot - he'll live!", then the sheet over him, "nope, dead". Boo....... I had no idea Skeen was a traitor - did not see that coming. And there was a moment I thought Cassian might agree. I was relieved when he took out his gun and shot him, but it put him in a bad position with Vel. Can't wait to see where this goes. This episode was so awesome! Best episode. I know a lot of people are down on these D+ shows, but for me there have been some incredible episodes and this is one of them.
  10. Same! I live in Central California - I can literally walk out my office and get taco trucks, mexican bakeries and a whole grocery store within a couple blocks. I was appalled by the mangling of the language and the cringey mocking of the culture. Enough. Not funny. AT ALL. And what the actual fuck does tacos have to do with a baking show? There is literally ZERO baking involved there. Maybe the dumbest technical, and that is saying something. But hey - at least it gave us the absurdity of Carole saying GUACYMOLO. Holy hell.
  11. I feel the same - I think I spent the entire dance wondering about that Marge wig and how it was attached to her head. Plus more obnoxious faces and hands behind her mom when she and Artem were talking to Alfonso. I really wish they would put different people behind Heidi when she goes upstairs. But I absolutely expect this girl to win. Her millions of tik tok followers will make it so. Blech. My hands down favorite was Wayne - lyrical hip hop! It reminded me of a Nappy Tabs routine from the heyday of SYTYCD. For me, the best dance of the season so far. I actually got kind of emotional. I love Witney with him. He's just so good, and she seems calmer with him because she can trust him to deliver the choreography. I really wish they had broken out one 10 for him. I'm tired of the three way tie at the top. I also loved Shangela! Man, I can't believe how much I enjoy her and Gleb, who is probably my least favorite pro of all time. They are so much fun together. And props for getting Jennifer Lewis to sing their song! Awesome! Alan and Jessie's costumes were pretty great, but she's always kind of mediocre and forgettable for me. I am not rooting for them, but I actually loved Artem and Heidi's dance. I thought the umbrella was cleverly incorporated and she was was very smooth and graceful. I agree with Carrie Ann - I always feel nervous when Selma dances, more so than Daniel. It's just kind of a nail biter to watch. I am glad she did pretty good with a one of the dances I thought she would struggle with, but I don't think she's going to break out of the middle of the pack. I thought Daniel was better this week than last week. I thought he was over scored last week, and this week I thought he was under scored. I was distracted by Bri wearing a bomber jacket over a sparkly dress. Kind of a disconnect on the costume. I know it was a quickstep, but the whole outfit was strange.
  12. Totally agree. I'm all caught up on episodes, and I feel less interested with each passing episode. Not sure I'll make it to the end of this season. It's like they set up problems and too quickly wrap them up. Hannah's years of pent up rage at the abandonment of her father, and one apology and it's fine! Timberely is a terrible actress - never mind - she isn't! Bree is threatened by the younger woman - forget it, she feels bad and now they are besties/fuckbuddies. Clay is sneaking around with the kid's mom - never mind, he knows and is cool about it! All of these things could have been dragged out and explored further, but this show really is just operating as a sitcom - problems resolved in 20 minutes.
  13. As a lover of Raising Hope and My Name is Earl, I was excited for this with Burt and Virginia Chance being in it, but wow. The perfect mix of sweet and stupid. I absolutely loved this. So many shows are downers these days, but I love that everyone got what they wanted. I guess the bittersweet was Gloria and Jack not ending up together, but even that feels right. I just loved all of the characters and, as a 90's kid, the whole crew dancing to Groove Is In The Heart was perfection for me. I can live with this as a limited series because it ended so great, but I would love a season two just to keep hanging with all these wonderful characters. All of the credit montages at the end of each episode have been awesome, but I loved the final episode showing the show's greatest hits. Wiggles trapped under the weighted blanket was maybe my favorite.
  14. Great ending to a mediocre season! My interest was waning, but this sucked me right back in. D'Arcy knows about Harry! Linda Hamilton is actually helping Harry instead of mustache twirling! The Sheriff supported Liz! Positive plot developments all around! Both kids were great, and I'm glad Bridget and the Resort plot are done. A effective sprinkling of minor characters, and almost zero Mayor's wife. More wins! I did laugh at Harry "breast feeding" the baby and telling Asta he adopted the Tracker's son, only to be told he was 28!
  15. I totally agree. I wish I had closed captioning on when Karis was talking to Cassian about his manifesto. I caught "it's easier to hide behind 40 atrocities than a single incident" and almost got chills. Definitely felt applicable right now with what's happening in Ukraine. I hope we get more time with the ISB officer that is sniffing out the rebellion. This feels like a new angle for Star Wars and it's nice to see it. Usually when we see the bad guys, they are evil with a capital E. This show seems more interested in exploring middle management, and I love it.
  16. @Welshman in Ca I second calling your local city sanitation department because even though this law is for the entire state, not all cities have complied. I called my local city office just to get detailed information about what can and cannot go into the green waste. They specifically told me paper towels can go, but if I was to spray some type of chemical on it (like Windex, or granite cleaner), it would go in the gray waste. So I mostly just wipe with water now so I can compost it. I've switched to microfiber cloths when I'm using cleaners. Mitch talks a good game, but there is a way to be green without being a total tool. Would I like things to be easier? Of course. Would I like to find ways to eliminate plastic? Obviously! But the world is not there yet in many ways, and I do what I can when I can. He needs to give some grace to people. You can't live in a big city and have a zero carbon footprint.
  17. I guess that's a different way of looking at it. I don't need every detail spelled out, but when the plot doesn't hold together on it's own without fan theories piecing it together, it's just bad editing/writing/plotting....
  18. Not only this, but California enacted a new law this year allowing paper products to be put in the green waste trash can. So if you use paper towels with just water you can compost them by putting them in the green waste. I frequently wipe down my kitchen counters with just a wet paper towel now and put it in the green waste. Obviously, sometimes I do use cleaner, but on the daily, I feel better about wiping things down with a paper towel. Mitch would actually be greener buying and composting paper towels than washing rags because as everyone knows, California is having a massive drought.......
  19. I think Shangela has done the impossible - she's made Gleb likeable. I think this is Gleb's best partner. I love them. My husband is into fitness and I've seen him watching videos of Joseph and interviews with him about his fitness routines, but my husband isn't exactly the sort to vote or watch DWTS. Still, I am enjoying him. I love what Britt is doing with Daniel and I am rooting for them, but I think they were overscored. He barely moved. I cannot fathom how difficult this is for him, but still, Britt was whirling and twirling around him while he mostly just moved his arms. Did Britt watch some old footage of lady leg warmer to see how to create choreography for an umoving partner? That's what this reminded me of. Not that Daniel is weak, but I think this dance was maybe the hardest for him without music or regular beats. Gabby whining about not feeling worthy is not a good look. Nobody feels sorry for you sweetie. I love Wayne. I hope his body holds out!
  20. I think it's a failing of the show that we have to come up with answers like this to make the plot work. A better choice would have been if they had showed Galadriel looking for orc activity after exiting the ships and tracking them in a way that led them to the village. At least that would have made sense and fit with what she was doing in episode one. As it was edited, it just made no sense.
  21. Who is to say it wasn't magic that ignited it? That sword thing seems magical - maybe that's why they needed it. Not just to unlock the sequence, but to ignite the eruption?
  22. You just summed up all my issues with this episode! I spent most of it yelling at my tv - "What are you idiots doing???? They have an army - you are a handful of untrained peasants plus one badass lady and one elf!" In the words of Gandalf - Run you fools!!!!!! I think I groaned when instead of running after the first escape they doubled down and went back to the village. What! Nooooo!!!!!! It made no sense. Also making no sense...... I guess it's thrilling to see that army show up, but what? How the hell did they know to get off the boats and ride straight to the podunk village in the middle of nowhere? Are the southlands that small? If so, who exactly is Halbrand the king of? The few villagers left after that skirmish? I guess it doesn't matter now that it's turned into Mordor...... So frustrating that Galadriel didn't kill Adar. Plot armor? I actually thought he made a good argument about the orcs deserving life just like everyone else, and I laughed when he told her he wasn't the only one with some darkness inside. Score one for Adar! You know a show is going wrong when you are rooting for the bad orc daddy instead of Galadriel, but geez they are making her hard to like. The creation of Mount Doom was epic. Best thing this show has done so far.
  23. I agree with everyone calling this the worst week - I have never watched this show and seen so many unappetizing things in my life! Those sandwich cakes are the stuff of my nightmares - I hate eggs, mayo, and seafood. The only one I would have tried was Sandro's BBQ theme one. And the bread is not the star of those monstrosities - it's just the thing to make the layers for fillings. Please show, never again..... I didn't mind the pizza challenge since crust is an important part of the whole thing, but again, it is just one component, not the star. I always enjoy episodes that involve lamination in the dough. I feel like getting that right is such a skill and it's so soothing to watch them rolling and folding the dough multiple times ;-p
  24. It looked like they were in a not great neighborhood in LA, which can be dangerous. And their car might have been a target for theft because it was so old it wouldn't have an alarm system making it easier to steal. I literally cringed when Bear opened that glove box full of cash. I knew it was toast. These kids are from a small community where everyone knows everyone else, and they are relatively safe. They have been through so much hardship, but they are completely naive about big city life. I hope Cheese ate the chilaquiles - so delicious! I love that White Jesus led them to a homeless encampment. So very California.....I am glad they made it to the beach. Cheese's prayer was just as good as his one at Mabel's funeral. I was afraid Elora wouldn't go in the water, but I am glad Bear convinced her. I loved them hugging in the water and the back and forth with Daniel and without him. Gah. Crying now...... Favorite Line: "If I'm a cow, milk me gently" ;-p So happy this show has been renewed!
  25. I enjoyed the yodeling, but the detour was too much like the roadblock to me - all musical type challenges, so if you are tone deaf, or rhythmically challenged, the whole leg is a nightmare. I was sad to see T-Rex go. They were one of the only recognizable teams for me. There are just too many teams at this point for me to know them all, and it really feels like there are several that are similar. I like the military guys, the cheerleaders, Tall wife/short husband, and the twins and Jamaica Dad/daughter. I loathe motivational speaker with rainbow hair. Everyone else is just there. I think it's interesting that they were released at the start of the leg in groups rather than staggered start times based on last leg finish times. I love the self navigation. I hope it continues - it always adds some organic travel drama that is missing from the show now that they all travel on the same planes instead of booking their own flights. Is the Scramble concept just for the first leg, or will there be more legs that use that? Maybe if they fly somewhere and all get off the plane at the same time?
